DeNami Takes a Dash!

Hello and welcome! I'm sharing a card today for the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge #29. For this challenge DeNami Design just so happens to be the sponsor and there is a $20 gift certificate for the winner! Paulina has asked the DeNami design team to participate and this is what I whipped up for you in just under 10 minutes!!

The theme for the challenge is buttons. Hmmm...I think I might just have a few of those HA!!! One thing I do have is the Buttons Background embossing folder and that's where this card began. Next I die cut a circle and scalloped layer to back it with. I stamped the onsie on the circle then a second one on this sweet strawberry paper. After trimming it out I used a Quickie Glue pen on the collar then sprinkled on some glitter. It's added to the circle with foam tape.

Before putting all of the pieces parts together, I added a length of light pink grosgrain ribbon to the embossed panel. Then I attached this to the white card base. Next the focal piece was added along with my bow. I layered three soft pink buttons in the bow and attached this little sentiment punched with a Fiskars punch. And there you have it!

Have you got ten minutes to spare? Gather your supplies and join in the fun. Who wouldn't want $20 to spend as they wished at the DeNami Design Store!!??!!

Have a lovely day ~Lisa

10mcd #25 ~ You Make me Smile!

It's a beautiful day here in Ohio!! The windows are wide open with cool breezes blowing in, sunny blue skies...oh yeah!! There is a down side though. My sweet boy Max is a tad under the weather. He's never had a repository issue in all of his 10 years. But there's something going on with the my little guy, so he's on an antibiotic. That sweet little face and those big brown eyes tell this mama he doesn't feel good. To give myself a little adrenaline boost as a pick me up, I am playing along with the 10 Minute Craft Dash!

The moment I saw the color combo my PTI Simple Sunflowers came to mind. I stamped them on a white panel then ran it through my die cut machine with this new embossing folder ~ LOVE!!! Isn't the font on this Inkadinkado sentiment a delight. Some milk chocolatey twine and a pretty SU button anchor my sentiment panel with it's punched border. I was going to add a felt die cut butterfly. But when a pulled out my PTI Harvest Gold felt, I had these two hearts already cut. I think they fit the bill quite nicely!

That does it for me today. I hope you'll stop by tomorrow for a sneak peek at my DeNami Photo Tutorial I think you'll enjoy!! Until then friends tah tah!! ~Lisa

RS #73 & 1OMCD #22 ~ A Little Note!

A happy Saturday to you!! They say we're finally going to get a break from this heat...one can only hope. I'm sharing a card today for another installment of my headliner spot over at Retro Sketches! Arielle has a cute and simple sketch this week. When deciding on colors I remembered the email with the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash colors. So I'm entering this card over there today!

My card starts with a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" SU night of navy card base. I die cut a Spellbinders postage die from the center, then backed the opening with this cute polka dot paper from OA's Cakewalk collection. I swapped out the button in the sketch with this PTI flower. The banners hold my Endless Creations sentiment and a trio of teeny navy buttons. The center of my flower had a tiny bare spot so I covered it with the MS butterfly!

That's it for me today friends. I hope you have time to play along with us this week at Retro Sketches. I LOVED what everyone created last week using the sketch based on my card!! Thanks so much for playing along!! Have a delightful weekend ~Lisa

CCC #51 & 10MCD #21 ~ POP!

Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Americans!! I know I'm a day early, but you get the point! CASology has a fireworks theme this week and the 10 Minute Craft Dash has a stars theme...they go together like peas and carrots! I made this quick little number for both challenges.

Easy peasy and really quick. I ran my card base through my die cut machine with this new stars embossing folder. Coupon plus a discount set me back $1.04 for this little baby!! Next I stamped my DeNami starburst on a small white panel along with these cute Hero Arts letters. I backed it with a navy scrap then added it to the card with foam tape. Coloring the stars and adding a glitter Gelly roll pen to the stamped image took the most time here. Clean simple and very quick, hope you like it!

Thanks for popping in today. Have a safe and blessed holiday, I'll catch you all on the flip side when I replug in after our get-a-way!! ~Lisa

DeNami Design Takes a 10 Minute Dash!!

Hello and welcome! I have a happy little card to share that was made for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #20 challenge. DeNami Design is the sponsor this week and the design team is playing along! The challenge runs from June 19th - June 29th. The winner will receive a $20 DeNami gift certificate!!! Booya!!! Here's a "quick little number" I put together to help jump start your project!

I used a strip of hot pink checkered paper to anchor my die cuts. I ran all three of the dies through at the same time then did my stamping. I used the solid leaf sprig on the back label, added the doily then topped it with the circle stamped with the ever so sweet polka dot elephant!  I think this cheerful sentiment goes perfectly with the bright colors! I love the mix of hot pink and orange in my bow!

This card went together quickly. As usual the longest time was spent fussing with my bow! Thanks for stopping by. I do hope you have time to play along with the 10 Minute Craft Dash. Remember peeps there is a fantastic DeNami prize is up for grabs!!

 Have a yourselves a delightful day ~Lisa

10MCD #19 ~ Smile!

Hey there peeps. I hope everyone had a good weekend. Ours was a bit on the busy side. My brother's two daughters are both married now and the youngest teaches dance at the studio she and her sister once took lessons at. The oldest lives in NYC pursing dance dreams there! This weekend was the 50th Anniversary for the dance studio with a BIG recital. My beautiful nieces, being alumni performed together. Goodness gracious they were AMAZING!!! They did a tap number that blew the roof off to the tune of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" If you know the song you can picture those feet a flying!!! There are just no words to describe how GOOD their number was, SO PROUD of them!!! But you know what...I bet you came here for a card right, let's get to it.

This went together quickly for the 10 Minute Craft Dash. I hope the green doesn't disqualify me, but hey...I had fun making it! A panel of OA paper was trimmed out with two adhesive OA borders. The right side of the card is stamped with the fun circles from the Precious Remembrance Shop positive thoughts set. I've had this & symbol hanging on my bulletin board for quite some time and thought it worked well with the two PR sentiments! I added the leaves and gems to the card to help balance the right side.

That's it for me today, sorta feel like I'm coming down with something, hope it's just the rainy weather. Blessings ~Lisa

Precious Remembrance Takes a 10 Minute Dash!

Hello again! This is my second post for the day, if you're here for my DeNami post please click here or scroll down. The Precious Remembrance design team is joining in the fun today at the 10 Minute Craft Dash! Not only that, the Precious Remembrance Shop is the sponsor for the newest challenge! I put together my card for a baby girl in just under ten minutes using the new Little One set. Take a look...

I started with this pretty buttery yellow card base topped with a piece of Lasting Impressions polka dot paper. I used a PTI die cut to back my PR stamped sentiment and a chunky button. To get my stamped image to curve above my die cut label, I placed the die on my acrylic block then carefully curved the stamp around the top of it. Worked like a charm!! I don't think this card would have taken my quite as long, but I always fuss with the bow and think "this needs sparkle!!!"

Break out your timer and running shoes then come play along with us at the 10 Minute Craft Dash. Just remember to breathe!!! The lucky winner will receive the new Little One set, how fabulous is that! Enjoy your day ~Lisa

10MCD #16 ~ Hello!

Hey there peeps! My energy was seriously lacking yesterday so I decided I needed a jump start. I'm not a coffee drinker and sadly my little Hershey's Bliss didn't do the trick. What to turn to next...the frenzy of the 10 Minute Craft Dash of course!! Call me crazy but I needed a boost and these bright spring colors were just the trick.

I started with a leaf green card base topped with a shimmery bright pink panel. My Impression Obsession lilac was stamped in leaf green ink. The blooms were colored with a teeny weeny paint brush using warm violet chalk ink and a bit of green chalk was rubbed on the leaves. Some of you might remember this ribbon. I found a length of it on a walk with Max, just laying there pretty as can be getting rained on. This is my last snippet of it and as luck would have it it matched the bright pink cardstock perfectly! My little hello sentiment (Morningstar Stamps) fits neatly onto a PTI tiny tag. I used a tiny piece of foam tape to hold it in place to let the green peek through the heart.

And there you go...my jump start! Lets just say that taking my glasses off for a sec to see what in the world Max was barking at from his window turned into a serious dash! Now don't get excited, he was barking at a couple of silly crows in HIS yard. But I on the other hand put my glasses back on only to discover the tiny screw had fallen out and one of the arms fell off! Yikes my clock was ticking and I needed to see those itty bitty blooms!!! I ran to get my hubby's glasses. OY VEY!!! They're bifocals and I had to hold my head just right to see LOL!!! Oh what a trip this dash turned out to be. But hey...it did the trick and this gal was movin and grovin!!! Have a happy day friends ~Lisa

10 Minute Craft Dash #14 ~ Happy Easter!

My mojo has been coming and going these last few days, kind of like the sun I suppose ~ or the snowflakes...take your pick! So I thought why not give it a bit of a kick start and throw myself into the hurried pace of the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash. Ahhhh nothing like a good wild and frantic ten minutes (or less!) to point your day in the right direction LOL!!!

I saw the first color in graphic to be more of a coral than pink, so I started with a coral card base. I've had my PTI tag sale #4 die since Christmas and thought it was high time I used it. To make things easier on myself I loaded up my dies and cut as many as I could at the same time. I had to run the blooms through a couple of times to cut all I needed. The cork is self adhesive so that also saved me those extra seconds. Isn't this strawberry paper cute. It was in my scraps along with the sweet green polka dot paper. I think it was from a baby girl pad I bought a long time ago. I am so smitten with this precious bunny by PSX. My tiny sentiment is from Paper Inspirations.

I made this just under the wire but I really like the way it turned out!! Thanks for stopping by, your visits and comments make my day ~Lisa

10MCD #11 ~ Sending You Love!

Welcome! Today the DeNami Design team is joining the fun at the 10 Minute Craft Dash! There is a fablous $20 gift certificate up for grabs from their latest sponsor DeNami Design!! Now if that doesn't convince you to play then you're missing out on a GREAT prize!! This go around we're working with the theme of hearts. And now for my quick (hee hee) card!

This is a 4" x 4" red card base. I've stamped this pretty DeNami rosevine heart on a white panel and colored it with markers and a glitter gel pen. I brought in more sparkle with plenty of gems and I love the way they look! One of my fav DeNami sentiments finishes off my quick simple card. Oops almost forgot, the white panel is added to the red base with foam tape! This one took just a tad over 8 minutes, lots of teeny leaves to color!

That does it for me today. I hope you take 10 minutes and play along with Paulina and her  new design team at the 10 Minute Craft Dash!  All of the rules and some great tips are listed on the blog. I've been asked before if you can have everything ready before you start. The answer is yes! You can have your card base cut and scored and all of your supplies right on hand. It's really a great way to use up some extra die cuts or punched pieces you have laying around! Don't forget to visit the other DeNami gals to check out their quick creations. Hope to see your card in the gallery ~Lisa

PS...just had to throw this in for fun...my iPhone case swoon!!!

10MCD #10 ~ God Bless You!

So I thought to myself last night why not have a go at the new 10 Minute Craft Dash colors and start my weekend off with a frenzied few minutes in my little art studio! Whew...this challenge really gets you movin and groovin!!! I couldn't pass up the colors this go around, too pretty. So here's my hold your breath, jump in with both feet, have no fear, but...the clock is ticking card.

I started with my gray card base and layered on this cute colorful daisy panel of Lasting Impressions cardstock. Added a paper doily topped with a scrappling of a felt heart border that's been laying around here far too long. Stamped and punched my sweet little SU bird. Lost the wing somewhere in the shuffle...panick set in...don't look for it punch a new one!!! Added the sentiment praying it would be straight ~ no turning back now. Sparkle...it needed sparkle. The silver backing of the gems was peeling off all wonky and uneven, what's up with that it almost put me over the time limit. But I made it tah dah!!!

Enjoy your weekend. I hope you'll stop by on Monday for the debut of my monthly special feature for DeNami  ~ Button Boutique! ~Lisa

10MCD #9 & CFC # 83 ~ Oh the Holiday Rush!

Well hello! Sorry things have been quiet here. Just trying to catch up on last minute holiday details, like getting a haircut, waiting in the bank drive-thru FOREVER (with only one car in front of me), trying to find some Christmas ribbon that isn't wired and going at a snails pace in traffic. You see...I think I have this bright little plan of getting these things done mid morning while most folks are at work or in school. You know move fast, getter done and get home. But I suppose several people had that same bright little plan ~HA! So I decided to gather my thoughts and make a card for the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash. Hey I was already off and running at a fast pace today (in my mind anyway) so why not keep up the momentum!!!

This little baby took me just shy of 9 minutes to make. These sweet jolly snowmen faces by Northwoods were stamped in gray, noses colored with a marker and then a glitter Gelly Roll pen and checks touched with pink chalk. My sentiment by Morning Star Stamps and this playful little snowflake from Impression Obsession were stamped with Momento Rose Bud ink. And last but not least ~ two strips of Washi tape and a sprinkling of gems!

I'm also entering this over at CAS-ual Fridays. They've paired up with Paulina at the 10 Minute Craft Dash this week ~ double the fun! Thanks for taking a peek today! ~Lisa

FMS #64, PP #124 & 10MCD #8 ~ Winter!

I've had a  day of hanging around the house doing laundry, baking 2 yummy loaves of banana bread, and just doing those little things that need done. All of this after my little fur baby had a chilly walk this morning. Our crazy weather was down to 34 this morning from the splendid low 60s we enjoyed yesterday. And then of course I decided to get crafty between the fluffing and folding! It's been far too long since I played along at Freshly Made Sketches, The Paper Players or the 10 Minute Craft Dash. So I put this little number together for all three challenges.

I wanted to use this tall thin snowman by Art Gone Wild so I turned the sketch on end. I am completely smitten with this October Afternoon paper that I picked up last year. My fav little polka dots are the reverse side...sweet!!! Lots of red here for the 10 Minute Crafts Dash along with touches of aqua. My die cuts were kind of laying around so it made my frenzied pace easier LOL!!! A scrappling of a felt die cut border and layered Peace Be Still PTI snowflakes add that winter warmth. Easy peasy and one of my favorite color combos!

Thanks for taking a peek into my little corner of the world today ~Lisa

10 Minute Craft Dash #5!

Good morning! I'm off and running today....where you ask? To the 10 Minute Craft Dash! The girls over there have graciously asked the entire Creative Paper Trade Design Team to join in the fun and design a 10 minutes or less card for their latest color challenge.

I gathered my supplies and tried to formulate a plan in my head before starting.

My stop watch was set and I was off!!! Didn't know if cutting my card base to size ahead was allowed so that was the first step. Next I quickly die cut an orange scalloped border, you know those cranks will only turn so fast ~HA!  Over this came my ribbon and bow. When I was all done and admiring my crafty dash creation, I looked inside to find the ribbon twisted ~ oooh good grief!!! Then I trimmed my focal element to size, added foam tape strips to the back and adhered it over the ribbon. Went to add one of Andrea's felt flowers only to find my glue wouldn't come out of the bottle. THE PRESSURE...clock ticking...yikes!!! Scrambled for my score tape instead ~ whew. Thank goodness for gems. They go on fast and add lots of pretty sparkle! I topped it off with this sweet little pennant provided by Andrea. Hit the stop watch and I made it...9 minutes and 53 seconds!

I had to laugh at myself a few minutes later after taking the photos. I decided to hit the kitchen to make chocolate pudding for dessert and found myself racing through it! Can you believe it! I started cracking up...all by myself I might add. Max must have thought I was a tad insane!!! I hope you have a chance to visit the blogs today and maybe take the 1o minutes to create something as well. It's nerve wracking, but fun! Have a great day ~Lisa
