CCC #115 & MFW ~ Have a Sweet Day!

HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!!

I'm sharing a card today in honor of this world event, nothing earth shattering or ultra creative, just sweet and simple! CASology has a cue word this week of {Chocolate}. Hello... couldn't let THAT one go by!! And Moxie Fab World is holding a {Canning Jar challenge}. So this is what I came up with when combining the two together.

I filled the small Precious Remembrance Shop mason jar (New Day Stamp Set) with M&Ms (Our Lady of Rubber), trimmed it out, then added it to my card with foam tape. Love this sentiment by Impression Obsession and a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh 6mm Espresso Sequins seemed quite chocolatey and perfect here! Dug into my rarely used Washi Tape for added fun.

A fun M&M fact for you!
When our son was just a little fella my parents would watch him a couple of days a week. My dad would bring home a package of M&Ms from the vending machine at work (Ford Motor Company) for Joey. For a few years Joey thought grandpa worked at an M&M factory!!!

He has fond memories of those M&Ms. When he was away at college he bought a package of them, saved the wrapper and mailed it to his grandparents with a letter!!! That's my boy *wink*
 Oh and by the way...
my mom still has that wrapper and letter!!!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy World Card Making Day!
Hope you have time to get inky!!! ~Lisa

MFW & SSS ~ Enjoy the Journey!

Hey there! I hope everyone is enjoying a pleasant weekend. I squeezed in some card making time this morning and put together this card for the {clicking cameras} challenge over at Moxie Fab World. Simon Says Stamp has an anything goes challenge going on, so I'll link it up there too!

I turned this camera image from the Journey stamp set (Precious Remembrance Shop) into a shaker! I had the stitched circles from a previous project hanging around, so I layered them up on a paper doily. My camera was stamped onto some coordinating DP (all by MME) with kraft ink. It contains a collection of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh ~ 4mm & 6mm Sparkling Clear, 4mm & 6mm Metallic Gold, 6mm Lemon Meringue and 6mm Tangerine. The PR sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark ink onto a vellum banner then embossed in gold. I added some sparkly Gelly Roll pen highlights to the camera for a little zip!

That does it for me today friends, enjoy your weekend ~Lisa

Hello!

Hey there bloggy friends! I have a sunny card to share today. I've used this week's Retro Sketch and Moxie Fab World's "Wonderful Words Challenge".  Then I saw Simon Say Stamp: Let's Be Clear challenge. And finally I'm playing along for the first time with Virginia's View Challenge ~ I know, late to the parade again! I'm really happy with the way this turned out and I hope you enjoy it too!

My SUPER sweet blogging friend Larissa Heskett sent me this beautiful MB label die which I promptly fell in love with!! Thanks again Larissa! I die cut a harvest gold panel then went to work stamping my PTI simple sunflowers. Next I die cut my hello (ME) sentiment using Iridescent Chocolate paper from DeNami Design and attached it to the opening of this panel. This was followed by all of the necessary layers to make my shaker. I've used a collection of PPP sequins ~ 6mm flat Espresso, 6mm cupped Marigold and 6mm cupped Mossy Green. Before adding the shaker to a white card base, I tied on this adorable chocolate polka dot ribbon sent to me by my SWEET blogging friend Greta! Thanks again Greta, love it!

I would like to give a BIG WARM WELCOME to my newest followers. I'm so happy you are joining me on this blogging journey of mine! Thanks so much for popping in today friends, I appreciate you!~Lisa

Cards For Cath ~ Good Luck!

Hello again! I'm back with a second card today. I was amazed at the amount of folks in the blog hop for Cath at Moxie Fab World this weekend. I was such a newbie to Moxie Fab World, I entered my first project in June...I know what rock was I living under!! Anyway, I fast became a fan of Cath's. I loved her posts and often swooned at the amazing photos she shared with us. Whimsical, sweet, elegant and just plain beautiful I loved them all. So this is a special card for her.

You made my day back in June Cath when my project was chosen as one of your winners. I truly felt Moxie Fab at that moment!! The touching emails and comments I received after my win told me just what a special event it was. Though our time together was brief, you have a place in my heart that will live on. I wish you the very best of luck in your future endeavors where you will no doubt inspire others as you have me.

God's blessings to you sweet friend ~Lisa

Muse #27 & MFW: Bday Card Challenge ~ Wish Big!

Happy happy Friday!! We have had the best weather for the last couple of days. Perfect temperatures and NO humidity!! I'll take it. Max is a happier boy too, long walks again and playing with his big ball in the backyard...silly little pup. So how about a card before I do a bit of housework. This one is for the Muse challenge where my very dear blogging friend Tracey McNeely is the Monday Muse!! And since I made this into a birthday card, I'll also link up at the Moxie Fab World birthday card challenge. Here's my take on Tracey's card.

All of the stamps are Papertrey Ink. I thought the sunflowers would make a nice summer or early fall birthday card. The only sequins I had in the correct colors were large, so I added a sparkly gem to their centers! The smaller sunflower, it's center and two leaves are popped up with foam tape.

Okay, that does it for me.
I'll be back tomorrow with my final headliner Retro Sketches card.
Hope you'll stop by ~Lisa

MFW Tuesday Trigger & PCS #153 ~ Blessings!

Well hello!! I'm back and this is a live post LOL!!! Trying to get back into the swing of things around here. Laundry and errands following our vacation and itching to get crafty again. We took a trip up to Mackinac Island, Michigan (I do love that dreamy place!) for a couple of days then traveled down the coast of Lake Huron visiting all of the lighthouses! We did the west coast, Lake Michigan, two years ago and loved it. So next we need to visit all of them around the upper peninsula! I had my fix of Kilwin's toasted coconut ice-cream!!! Max is the best little traveler and loves all of the adventure. We rented bikes on the island and they have pet buggies to pull behind your bike. You know like the ones little kids ride in. He LOVES it...it's actually his third visit there and his third time cycling around the island. He's also Mr. Popularity when we travel. That sweet boy does attract attention!!! Anyway we had a great time, very relaxing and lots of fun. Oh...we also stopped in Bay City to watch the Tall Ships come in!

I saw the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger challenge photo yesterday ~ A Little Romance and new this would be a good way to motivate me again. Here's my entry...

I found a small stamp store in Bay City and picked up a couple of things. One being a package of Melissa Francis pearls. This pretty lady was part of the packaging. Isn't the cross around her neck lovely, it looks like a rosary to me! I added some Creative Imaginations paper beside her. My pretty Webster's Pages trim seemed a perfect fit with her fancy gown. This Impression Obsession sentiment is just beautiful! I picked it up at the stamp convention this past spring. When looking for a stamp to put on the PTI doily, I remembered my Hydrangea (Inkadinkado) stamp. It seemed old fashioned and delicate. I love it on this card!

Speaking of hydrangea, the Papercraft Star challenge has a fabulous inspiration photo this week with this very flower!! Sooooo I think I'll link this card up there as well! Two for one, way to jump back into things huh!!!

Have a beautiful day friends, blessing to each and every one of you ~Lisa

PP #152, RS #70 & MFW ~ Get Well Soon!

Hey there! Sorry about the lack of action here lately. Like I mentioned before I've been busy working on new release projects for DeNami and Precious Remembrance. I'll be unplugging soon for a vacation too. There will be scheduled posts if you would like to pop in. And when we snuggle in for the night while away, I'll try to visit. You see the hubs takes LOTS of pictures and he'll be unloading his camera onto the laptop so he has room for LOTS more pictures!!! I do love that man.

But I did find time to put together a cute card for three challenges...YEP THREE! This one is for The Papers Players bingo challenge, Retro Sketches and the Mixy and Matchy Style at Moxie Fab World.

Aren't these little birds from Magenta fun! I used the bingo card line of birds, bling and ribbon. The papers are scraps from my stash (both are Basic Grey: Urban Prarie). I think the ribbon is Dear Lizzy, but I'm not positive on that! But the sentiment if definitely Precious Remembrance! My Postage dies are Spellbinders and the banner PTI.

Okay, that's all I have for tonight. Take my friends ~Lisa

**Edit: hahaha just read Darnell's comment about taking my friends...what!!! I meant to say  take CARE my friends!! What was that old joke ~ take my wife , please!!**

MFW ~ Happy Anniversary!

Hey there! Have you seen the fun challenge at Moxie Fab World that's all about pattern? Mixing and matching them to be exact. I put several into my card, have a look!

Sigh...isn't this floral paper just dreamy. All of the papers are from Websters Pages. The stripe was added to an aqua mist card base then tied with a length of seam binding. Next I added this divine floral panel and topped it with a script pattern. I used a MS vintage lace edge punch on it for added interest. Topping all of this off was a PTI heart border made from a paper with a tiny clock pattern. As you can see, I took the route of soft delicate patterns.

My fluffy seam binding bow was added next. It looked too bare on it's own so I added more pattern with two MFT die cut leaves. One holding a PTI sentiment. Finally a little MS tag was added to the mix.

And there you have it, my card of mixy matchy patterns!
I hope your week is off to a good start ~Lisa

Moxie Fab World ~ The Card Set Challenge!

Hey there! I'm back with one more project for the Moxie Fab World challenge. This one is a card set to go along with the other items I've made for my mom's birthday!

More of the same PTI dies and stamps paired with a pretty paper doliy. This time I added a couple of sweet little polka dot butterflies from Basic Grey. I love this cardstock. It came from Archivers a few years ago. I've been hoarding a few sheets of this soft soft green with little specks running through it. They stopped carrying this paper line quite some time ago and I sure wish they would bring it back. They also had the prettiest speckled robin's egg blue, it was my favorite....sigh.

I stamped a simple leaf sprig on the envelopes to go along with the cards.

And kept the bag kind of simple! Blessings friends ~Lisa

Moxie Fab World ~ The Gift Challenge!

Hello and a happy Saturday to you! While my hubby worked some overtime today, I took a bit of time to play around in my little art studio. I'm on a roll with this set of Moxie Fab World challenges and made a pretty little notepad for my mom's birthday.

To keep this gift set coordinating, I've used many of the same products that you saw in my last two projects. I did add some sweet felt rolled roses and little flourishes. Both are MFT dies. I thought my fave heart border from PTI would be a nice addition too. Although I see I was off a bit in the placement. Shhh...don't tell my mom ~ hee!!

I picked up a few of these notebooks from Michaels a couple of years ago for $1 each. They're great to have on hand to fancy up for a gift like this! I remove the cover then add my own using Scor Tape on the spine. This paper had sweet little polka dots on one side and a soft peachy color on the other. Perfect for this project.

Thanks for taking some time out of your day to stop by. I hope you're enjoying your weekend! ~Lisa

Moxie Fab Gift Card Holder!

*EDIT: So happy to have won for this project at Moxie Fab World!!!

Back again with another entry for Moxie Fab World! This one is for the gift card holder challenge. I'm having so much fun playing with this color combo and layered bloom, that I thought I would put together a cute set for my mom's upcoming birthday. I used this purse template many times when teaching stamping classes at our local Joann store years ago. Take a peek...

Isn't it cute! I simply trace the pattern on cardstock, cut it out, then score two lines. Next I punched two holes to thread the ribbon handle through. I attach the small tail to the inside of the card with score tape and allow the knot to show so I don't have a lumpy fold. Then the fun of decorating begins! To match my gift tag from yesterday I added this pretty paper doliy letting it peek out under the purse flap. This was followed by the same layered bloom and leaves that I made yesterday (all stamps and dies are PTI). I am in love with the twill ribbon that PTI carries. It makes the most beautiful bows!!!

And speaking of bows, here's a close up showing the tiny tag stamped with "Mom" and a couple of pretty stick pins. I love the idea of sliding a button or two on the pin, such a pretty little detail! Add a gift card inside with a glue dot and you're good to go!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Your visits and comments mean the world to me ~Lisa

Moxie Fab Newbie!

I know I know...where have I been and why have I not been playing along at Moxie Fab World?? Your guess is as good as mine LOL! I guess it's one of those challenges that I've seen on others blogs, but never really investigated. After seeing the ever so pretty tag that my friend Marybeth made and entered yesterday I thought I better get on this bandwagon, this looks like a fun place to linger around at!! So here you go...my first Moxie Fab challenge entry!

I wanted to make a delicate and frilly tag. Just in that kind of mood I suppose. So I started out by die cutting two PTI: Tag Sale dies in a soft peachy cardstock. I stamped my Northwoods sentiment then layered on several PTI flower dies. The first layer is die cut from tulle. When running it through the first time I had about four layers of tulle and it didn't really cut the edges very well, they looked sort of frayed. So back to the drawing board I went. This time I put a piece of scrap cardstock on top of the layered tulle then ran it though. Perfecto!!! I used my new to me PTI: Turning a New Leaf stamps and dies (I know late to the parade again!) and let the larger leaf cluster flow from the tag, love the way this looks. I sprinkled on a few gems and glued the tag to a pretty paper doily. Then I backed this with the second tag I had cut out. I thought the back portion could hold the to/from or a little message.

When layering my flowers together I added a scrap from a square doily edge. It's simply pleated it into a circle, glued to the felt bloom and topped with the paper bloom.

I think I'll link this up to my friend Mynnette's Inkspirational challenge too. They have an anything goes this week! Have yourself a delightful day ~Lisa
