CQC #330 ~ C4C #469

Popping in tonight with a fun little card I made this afternoon. I had a heck of a time getting this little critter colored. My lightest brown Copic marker was running out on me. You wouldn't believe what all I used to color this little dude. An 'on it's last leg' Copic marker, watercolor pencils, Tombow marker, and colored pencils. It was pouring the rain so Hobby Lobby was a no go! He'll due, I guess.

Anyway... This stamp is by Darcie. I picked up at a stamp convention years ago. I've used the other images in the set, but never this one. CASology has Bouquet as their cue word and I think this works! Then there's Crazy 4 Challenges with their groundhog or ground critter challenge. What do you think this little dude is? I can see groundhog, how about you? Maybe a bear, I'm just not sure!

Thanks for stopping by, take care!

cQc #233 & C4C #227 ~ Thanks!

Hi there! Ready for a new ColourQ challenge! I must admit this was a difficult group of colors for me. I've never been a fan of teal or coral...put them in the same challenge and I was a bit rattled LOL!! So I decided the easiest way to approach this would be to follow a sketch. Just so happens that Crazy 4 Challenges had a great one ready and waiting!

I focused on the green using some of my PPPS celery twill ribbon, love this stuff!! I pushed the teal (Island Indigo) to the background and brought a little bit of it to the front of my card in the form of sparkly Rhinestones from DeNami Design. Just a wee bit of coral works for me. And to really calm my rattled nerves, I used my sweet polka dot embossing folder!!! Phew...done *wink*

Hope you have a splendid day
and find time to play along with us at the ColourQ this week. ~Lisa

C4C #209 ~ Smile!

Hi there! I have a pretty little card to share today for my final week as guest designer at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. I can't thank my sweet blogging friend Silke enough for having me. I've enjoyed being among this talented group of designers over the past month ~ thanks so much ladies!

This week Silke asked us to use our favorite stamp set. This is her birthday month and she has a little give-a-away going on! You don't want to miss this one friends!! It was really hard to pick a favorite. I cheated just a little and used two favorites..shhh don't tell! Both of these sets are PTI and both of them are little. You see...I have a fondness for little things! The first is a go to set for me, PTI Tag - it's #3. I love the pretty little wreath and those sweet flowers in this mini set. And I had to pair it with one of my all time favorites, the PTI Tiny Tags set. So many sweet little tags with pretty sentiment fonts.

When thinking about the design for my card I knew I had to use a paper doily. Every time I see a paper doily I smile and think of Silke! This gal uses them beautifully!!! Enjoy you birthday month Silke...this one's for you!!

Along with the PTI stamps and the paper doily, I've used papers by Echo Park. I think my layered seam binding bow and pearl adorned vintage safety pin accent them nicely. I just had to throw in another of my favorites, this PTI doily details die ~ love!!!

Thanks for journeying into my little corner of the world today. Have a wonderful weekend. Don't forget about Silke's give-a-way at the C4C blog. Stop by and say hi to the team!! ~Lisa

C4C #208 ~ Cherish Every Moment!

A happy Saturday to all! Any card making plans on your agenda? My hubby has to work today, so I'll be doing a bit of crafting to make the time pass quicker. I do have a card to share for the Crazy 4 Challenges blog today. This is week number three of my guest design gig with them. Silke has given us the challenge of a wedding card using her super sketch and a pretty color combo ~ perfect peach, gold, mint and emerald green.

I started with a cream card base layered with tone on tone Graphics 45 paper. To keep the background from being too busy, I cut another panel from the DP and gave it a very thin mint mat. Next I die cut a PTI mat stack 4 label then stamped and embossed it with an Inkadinkado flourish and gold embossing powder. This pretty emerald green Crate Paper was punched with an EK Success punch, backed with snippets of a paper doily and topped with a gold embossed Precious Remembrance sentiment.

To add just a touch more gold I threaded a thin gold wire through my button. Doesn't it look pretty on my layered lace and tulle bow!

Thanks so much for joining me today. Be sure to stop by the C4C blog to see what the team has to share! Blessings ~Lisa

C4C ~ Thanks!

Hello and welcome! I'm here with a card for week number two of my guest designing spot at Crazy 4 Challenges! Silke picked out such a pretty photo for our inspiration this week. She's asked us to use chevrons along with gray, yellow, green and pink.

I've added two panels of patterned paper from MME to a medium gray panel.  Before adhering them I added this shimmery gray ribbon. Next this was put onto my white card base. I've used one half of a paper doily to anchor my sentiment label holding this sweet Precious Remembrance Shop sentiment. Flower die cuts (PTI) serve as the base for the MFT felt mini rolled roses. I tucked in three ever so pretty leaf buttons and topped the card off with matching green gems.

Many of you know that I ask my hubby's opinion on my cards. Here's his run down on this one! "Well...I like everything on it, but I don't like the two halves. It looks like it has a split personality." LOL...gotta love that man, he's honest! But I didn't change a thing since I was SO happy with my bow!!

Have a blessed weekend friends! I hope you get a chance to play along at Crazy 4 Challenges this week. Take some time to visit the team too, they'll inspire you with their pretty cards! ~Lisa

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ Guest Designer!

Well hi there! I have some fun news to share. My sweet friend Silke Ledlow of My Life sent me an email a few weeks ago inviting me to be her guest designer for the month of October at Crazy 4 Challenges! Of course my answer was an excited yes!! This is a new to me challenge and I am so very honored to be sharing my inspiration for you along with the design team. And on World Card Making Day to boot!!! Thanks again Silke, you're a sweetheart!

As you can tell from my card, the first challenge this month is a Halloween theme.

I started by stamping this trio of pumpkins from DeNami Design, aren't they sweet!  It doesn't show well in my photo, but the pumpkins are coated with Ranger Glossy Accents. The branches I've stamped in each corner are actually the tops of a tree from Stamps by Judith! The teeny fluttering bats are also Judith. Before adhering this panel to the MME polka dot panel, I inked the edges with creamy brown ink. I die cut a woodgrain paper (again MME) with a PTI medium scallop border then added it to the stamped panel. Before adding my layered panels to the SU Pumpkin Pie card base, I wrapped a length of Halloween twine around it. And finally I used an alphabet set to stamp out "boo", then punched the letters with a circle punch. The edges were inked then they were added to the card with foam tape.

I hope I've inspired you to play along! You'll want to stop by the C4C blog to see what the team has in store for you. I'll be back a little later with a fun DeNami post! ~Lisa
