Sorry to hear...

Hi there! We have a new challenge up at Just Us Girls today. It's one of the changes we made to our challenge schedule. You can pick anything you want from the moodboard. One of the photos, colors, combine a few. Whatever suits your fancy... or mood!

Here's a closer look.

And here's my take on it!

The first thing that caught my eye was the rain followed by the daisies. It seemed like the umbrella was pointing them out! We've actually had more rain than snow for this Ohio January. Mild temps too and this girl is not complaining!

I used a TE raindrop EF on a taupe panel. Next I popped on the cup and saucer (Wplus9) and the trio of daisies (SSS). I did a little surgery on them to cut off the stem and leaf.

This one will go to a friend who's been having a rough way to go health wise for a few weeks now. I hope it lifts her spirits!

We hope you'll join us this week to give this new challenge a try!

Hello

It's time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls and Bobby is hosting!

My first thought for Bobby's colors was to go in a beachy direction.
As you can see, that didn't happen!

After die cutting and coloring my flowers (WPlus9), I layered them onto an embossed banner with the sentiment, then onto the card base stamped with some PRS circles. A sprinkling of a few PPP Marshmallow sequins for a touch of pizazz finished things off.

I look forward to seeing in what direction the colors take you!
You ARE playing along, right?

Thanks

Brrr... it's cold and we have way too much snow! We were the recipients of close to two feet on Monday ~ YIKES! I've taken advantage of staying put, keeping warm and doing a bit of crafty organization. I love doing that, the end results feel so good!

I'm sharing a card today that was made for Inspired By. The challenge has been put on hold for now.  I like to think of this as a thank you card to all of you who supported my time on the DT and for all of those who played along at our weekly challenges. I appreciate it more than you know.

As luck would have it, my card works for the Tic, Tac, Toe challenge, so I'll be linking it up there.

My card fits the bottom horizontal line: Die Cut, Blue & Bird. I die cut and stenciled a PTI Damask Snowflake. Then die was inlaid then layered with an Altenew sentiment and winter greenery along with a pair of Wplus9 redbirds. I sprinkled on a few red rhinestones to add some brightness.

Thanks for visiting! Stay safe and stay warm!

You make me feel chirpy!

I'm trying to find my new normal now that Sweet P has finished virtual kindergarten. I must admit I miss my little sidekick!  After seeing my friends Michele and Marcia playing along at Color Hues, they inspired me to get inky!

I thought this little bird by MFT would make a sweet blue bird. She's nestled into a tree trunk made with a POD woodgrain background. Some Wplus9 flowers bring in more blue. So there you go, my rainy day fun! Thanks, Michele and Marcia!

Hope Your Birthday Is Unforgettable

A lazy gray Sunday calls for a little crafting. We always need birthday cards for our stash, right? I took advantage of that thought to play along with The Paper Players clean and simple birthday challenge.

I pulled out an oldie, but a goodie, Wplus9 set. My images were stamped and Copic colored with a touch of glitter gel pen added to the party hat. Super quick and super simple!

Thanks for paying me a visit, I appreciate it!

Let Love Bloom

Do you love this inspiration photo as much as I do? I hope so and I hope you join us at Inspired By this week with your take on it! Here's what I did...

I used one of my favorite sets from Wplus9 to stamp and die cut a stack of cups. Three of the cups were stamped with the coordinating blooms from the set. I created my own polka dot cup with a little DeNami Design polka dot stamp. My striped one was made with a Copic Marker. The sentiments and greenery sprigs are from a Carta Bella stamp set. I used a craft knife to cut slits in the cups so I could stack them. I couldn't resit plunking them onto some embossed doilies! This was so much fun to make!

Okey-dokey, your turn!

Hello!

Hey there! It's time for another guest post with the Just Us Girls team! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I think this photo is terrific. I mean, after all, there are chocolate chip cookies in it!

I was inspired by the blonde wood the little display is sitting on and that sort of aqua blue wood paneling behind it. All of the pretty leaves in my patterned paper  and die cuts are a nod to the design in the cappuccino. I colored three wooden doodads with my Copics to represent chocolate chips!

I look forward to seeing what you create this week. I'm off to check out the cards from those talented ladies at Just Us Girls. You're welcome to tag along!

A Little Note

Hey there! Popping in tonight with a card for The Paper Players challenge.

I love the way this turned out! The bird is a stamp I bought on Etsy. I know chickadees don't have a golden yellow tummy, but it looked pretty with the aqua and light gray! The blooms I added are Wplus9 and the sentiment by Endless Creations.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Hooray!

Hooray, The Paper Players are celebrating 500 challenges!
They're looking for clean and simple celebration cards.

This cute elephant from WPlus9 will be floating his way into their gallery!

Congratulations to everyone at The Paper Players on this incredible milestone!

Thinking of You

Hello lovelies, it's time for a new Inspired By challenge. Wouldn't this be a fun place to wake up! Now, bright turquoise and coral are not go to colors for me, never have been. But I've gotta tell ya, I'm kinda diggin' my card using them!

Other than the obvious color inspiration, did you spot my shutter? I managed to squeeze in some stripes too. My paper was more of a creamy white so I die cut it to minimize that fact!

How will our photo inspire you ~ colors, stripes, patterns, pieces of coral? In case you're in need of a jumping off point, there's also a sketch for you!

Unforgettable!

Hey there! What a wild ride we've had. We had a bad thunderstorm late Wednesday night. I was awakened at midnight by a text from our son asking if we were in the basement, then the tornado sirens went off. None of that lasted very long and everyone is safe, no damage. But our power went out at that moment and stayed off for 20 hours! Luckily it was 70 outside. Today we woke to 39 degrees and snow... yes snow... giant flakes!! Sheesh!!

Here we are on the other side of it all and I have a cute pair of pint sized pachyderms for The Paper Players challenge.

LeAnne has given us {A Day at the Zoo} theme this week. After watching a movie a couple of nights ago (Water for Elephants), I remembered this cute Wplus9 set. I've framed this darling pair in some stitched photo frames. The paper is one I remember buying at Archivers years ago. Simple and sweet!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Best Ever

Hello lovelies! I'm popping in today with a card for The Paper Players challenge.

Every time I saw someone had used the Lawn Fawn quilted backdrop cover plate, I said to myself, I need that. I finally gave into that little voice and one came home to live with me! I love that you can leave the little dots in place or poke them out to let another color peek through. I chose to let some aqua peek through today. Some Pebbles PP and a PTI spiral notebook die cut were added to complete the sketch design. Then I topped everything off with images and die cuts from Wplus9's Hello and Thanks set.

Okay, I'm off. They're calling for snow later today and through the night. Gotta get those errands in!

Getting inky!

Hey there! I hope everyone is doing well. My hubby has been down with a wicked case of bronchitis for the past week, poor guy. He's on his third large bottle of cough medicine. I did manage to put this card together last night for no particular reason, just the urge to craft!

I didn't add a sentiment to the front. I think this would work for lots of different occasions. Maybe I'll add one later, or just put one on the inside. I love this sweet Wplus9 set (Hello and Thanks) and it's whimsical blooms. This pretty little cup looks right at home on the embossed doilies (Maggie Holmes)...another favorite of mine.

*EDIT: I was unable to contact the ladies who've asked questions concerning products. I've added the link above to the WPlus9 stamp set used. The embossing folder is by Maggie Holmes. I've had it several years. I'm not sure if still available.

Thanks for taking a peek. I'll be back soon with the May 12 Kits of Occasions post. Until then, be blessed.

You're Kind of the Best Ever!

Hello lovelies! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I had time to get a couple of cards made. This one is for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

As you can see, I've flipped the sketch on it's side. I used a snippet of leftover 12 Kits paper along with these sweet WPlus9 flowers. I added the circles (PRS: Positive Thoughts) to mimic the wreaths in the PP.

It's sweet, spring-y and just makes me happy. It also has me longing for spring weather to stick around. We went from 60 on Saturday to 23 with snow on Sunday! But then again, that's Ohio!

Have a blessed day!

CTS #253 ~ Happy BIrthday!

Hey there! I had a little extra time on my hands so I got crafty! I decided on something quick and simple. This week's CAS(E) this Sketch fit the bill.

My supply of birthday cards is low so I put this little number together. Wplus9's Unforgettable set was begging to be used again. A couple of vellum balloons and a sweet little ellie replaced the flowers from the sketch. I added some PPP mini star confetti to the balloons for some zip. Hope it's still CAS enough for the team!

Don't forget about my PPP giveaway.
You have one more day to comment on this post
Winners will be a announced tomorrow!

Wishing you a delightful day!

cQc #347 ~ Unforgettable!

Hello! Long time, no post...sorry about that. I've been catching up on things around the house since Sweet P is home with her mama for the summer. School will start up again before you know it and my little sidekick will once again fill my days! So are you ready for a new ColourQ challenge? I thought this combo was a fun one to work with. Not something I would usually put together, but I kinda like it! Oh, and my personal in house critic did too *wink*!!

I started with my Pretty Pink Posh Decorative Tag Die (I love this die so much!!) that was already cut. I added one of the adorable Wplus9 elephants to the center then popped a little party hat on his head. The sentiment from the same set was stamped in PTI's Soft Stone ink. I've had this sweet brown flower forever. I think I picked it up at my local JoAnn store. A couple of buttons and this little number was complete!

This one works for the SSS:Animal Magic challenge so I'll enter it there today.

I'm so happy you spent a little of your day with me! ~Lisa
