Just Us Girls #791 ~ Happiness Blooms From Within

Hey there, are you ready for a new challenge at Just Us Girls? It's an easy one... die week where it's anything goes! A new month means a new guest designer is joining us. Please pop over and say hello to Jaydee.

Once again it seemed that sunflowers were a good choice for the time of year. I just love this sweet SSS die. I added a trio of them to a couple of panels cut with PPP dies. More little banner dies for my sentiment (Carta Bella) and a trio of punched Martha Stewart butterflies to top it of.

Okey dokey, it's your turn now. Pick out a die or two and come join us!

Just Us Girls #748 ~ It's a Wonderful Day

Hey there! We have a new word challenge up at Just Us Girls for you. Stephanie has chosen LEAVES, so perfect for this time of year. They're beginning to show some beautiful color here in Northeast Ohio. The leaves on my card aren't your usual fall colors, but they're pretty fun!

I recently picked up this sweet leaf die from Pinkfresh. It seemed to be telling me to reach for some polka dots and gingham. Okay! A pretty little PTI frame was cut from ivory cardstock. The leaves were arranged with an old PTI label die and a sentiment by Carta Bella. I just love those polka dot leaves!

I look forward to seeing how the word LEAVES inspires you. I think there will be lots of pretty cards falling into our gallery!

Life is Beautiful

Good morning! Life is beautiful and it does get busy! I'm here this morning with a card that's headed right over to The Paper Players gallery before it closes then I'm back to the business!

I swapped out the squares in Joanna's sketch for a quartet of small Carta Bella wreaths. They're topped with a PTI peony bloom and a couple of Poppystamps butterflies. The sentiment and it's banner came from the same Carta Bella set. I picked the ME scalloped frame to mimic the look of the wreaths. Hubs thought it was pretty, I hope you do too!

Thanks for visiting, I love it when you do!

Live Life in Full Bloom

What a few days we've had in my neck of the woods! We had a wild thunderstorm blow through on Saturday afternoon with high winds. We have no damage, but have seen trees down here and there. Our cable and internet have been out since then (I'm using my phone to gain access for my blog!). Thankfully the electric just flickered on and off a few times. There are areas in our city that were without power. We attended Mass on Saturday evening and our church had no power. The service was candlelit and it was so pretty! All of the schools were closed today due to the power and internet issues. Hopefully things will be up and running soon. I know there are areas of our country dealing with so much more and my heart goes out to them.

But hey... you came here for a card, right? Let's get to it!

I think I have a couple of lines covered in this week's Tic, Tac Toe board. Floral/foliage, free and pastel colors along with circle(s), free and die cut(s).

The pretty foiled wreath is a new purchase from Pinkfresh and I'm in love! I paired it with an old EF then tied on a tiny tag holding the Carta Bella sentiment.

I'll also be linking this up for the first time at the Pinkfresh monthly challenge. They're looking for flowers and my card also uses a few of the colors offered!

Thanks for taking the time to visit, I appreciate it!

Hugs and Kisses!

I had some leftover bits hanging around and they all came together for a cute little card! I think I'll send it over to the Happy Little Stampers: Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

This is a Sweet P card for sure! After I got everything put together, it needed just a little some something. I remembered my XOXO stamp from DeNami. But then I had one of those moments. When I write that in a card or on a note, I have always written it as XOXO. It felt odd to stamp it the other way LOL! Call me crazy but it had to match the hugs and kisses sentiment. Os are hugs and Xs are kisses. This looks so strange to me! How do you write it?

Thanks for spending a little of your day with me.

Hugs (O) and Kisses (X)!!

Happy Little Moments

Leftovers anyone? The paper variety, that is! I'm back with that card I mentioned the other day. I couldn't let those diecut wood-grained circles go to waste, so I created this little number with them!

This time, I added that lovely soft pink to the outside of my circles. More leaves and flowers were draped on with the sweet little bees (POD) and Lilly the owl (POD) making their appearance here too. I found the tiny trio of gem flowers in my stash to pick up the yellow on this one!

Which one is your favorite? My in house critic likes them both, but said the first one wins for him!

Just Us Girls ~ #643

Ina has come up with such a fun challenge for Just Us Girls... CASE a Designer! You can pick anyone you want! A member of our DT, a fellow card maker, scrapbooker, quilter, painter... sounds like fun huh!

A few years ago, while checking out Stacy Yacula's stamps at Purple Onion Designs, I came across this darling card by Nicky Meek.  I'm CASEing it today!

I had the same woodgrain background, used the circle openings with those delightful soft pinks inside of them and this is what I came up with!

I paired my owl (Lilly ~ POD) with the bee from the Garden Bugs (POD) set. All stamped, Copic colored and fussy cut. In addition to Nicky's pretty pink background, I added some stenciled honeycomb to two of the openings to help tie in the yellows from the bees. It's not an exact CASE, but it works for me!

All of the leftovers are finding their way onto another card!

Stay tuned!

Grateful

Hey there, it's time for a new Just Us Girls challenge! Vicki is our hostess for word week and she picked Flowers (see what I did there ~ hee!) We also have a guest designer joining us this month! Please stop by and say hello to Deborah Wheeler!

Flowers... so many choices!

I recently bought this Hollyhocks die (Impression Obsession) and it turned out to be a marvelous filler for my pretty  flower wrap (Simply Graphic)! They were die cut them from colored cardstock then a little Copic coloring was added to the centers. It needed just a touch more some something, so I tucked in a small scallop border. Voila, I love it!

Our gallery is sure to be a beautiful flower garden this week. I hope to see some blooms of yours included!

Life is Beautiful

Spring is in the air! I spied my first daffodil of the season in our neighbor's front yard and the birds are making their return! Bobby's pretty photo for this week's Just Us Girls challenge couldn't be more appropriate. Here's my take on it.

I went pretty literal using an Impression Obsession birdhouse image. My nod to the spring flowers are some little leafy clusters (also IO) bedazzle with colorful rhinestones. To finish it off, I added a small Carta Bella sentiment.

Be sure to visit the Just Us Girls blog to see the wonderful works of the DT as well as our guest designer, JoAnn Burnham! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs

I had a special visitor for breakfast this morning then I drove her to school. It's so cute to see her walking in with that big ol' backpack! Then, after a little housework, I got inky with a card for the Time Out challenge. My sweet friend Michele is guesting with the DT! She made a beautiful card for us to CASE and this is what I came up with.

I like the white heart on her card with the letters cut out. I used a small IO hugs die cut and simply replaced the cutouts from the H and G. I tucked in the smallest bloom and the leaves from PTI's Prominent Petals on opposing sides of the heart. The little gold embossed leafy stems are Carta Bella. I sprinkled on a few PPP gold confetti pieces to tie in the gold. And there you go!

I think this one works for The Card Concept too!
(clean & layered!)

And while I'm at it, The Paper Players!

Inspired By #170 ~ Wrap Me Up in Spring

We are definitely wrapped up in spring here in my neck of the woods! The sights, the sounds, the smells... love it! Speaking of love. Look at all of those pretty little bouquets lined up for this week's Inspired By challenge.

The kraft wrappings and purple-y blue flowers peeking out were my inspiration this week. I used a PPP die cut diamond tag to create my kraft background. One more tag, cut in white, holds some IO wild flowers. I had no black twine in my stash so I inked up some gray twine. It took forever and a day to dry!

I'm off to see how the team was inspired, they never disappoint! I would love to see your card in our gallery. They always bring a smile to my face!

Happiness Blooms From Within

Hey there! I'm popping in for a quick minute to share my card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches. Take a look...

I die cut a piece of 6x6 patterned paper to fit the sketch. Next, I added my Pure Innocence (digital, bought online a few years ago) image after coloring her with Copics and fussy cutting her out. Check out the Copic polka dots I added to her shirt!

Have a great weekend!

Enjoy the Journey

Here goes nothing... my first post with the new blogger! Actually, it was easier than I thought it would be. Hope it shows up correctly on your end! I've worked on this card in bits and pieces this past week. Virtual kindergarten with Sweet P is going great and she loves it so much, but it keeps me busy!

I put this together for The Card Concept. I was inspired by the sunflowers and the oak table they're sitting on along with the fresh greens and pops of black from the photo. My Carta Bella papers (sentiment too) were layered together with a PFS wreath, PTI sunflowers and patterned leaves (PPP). Lots of layers and clean lines put this in their clean and layered category.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a blessed Sunday!

Let Love Bloom

Do you love this inspiration photo as much as I do? I hope so and I hope you join us at Inspired By this week with your take on it! Here's what I did...

I used one of my favorite sets from Wplus9 to stamp and die cut a stack of cups. Three of the cups were stamped with the coordinating blooms from the set. I created my own polka dot cup with a little DeNami Design polka dot stamp. My striped one was made with a Copic Marker. The sentiments and greenery sprigs are from a Carta Bella stamp set. I used a craft knife to cut slits in the cups so I could stack them. I couldn't resit plunking them onto some embossed doilies! This was so much fun to make!

Okey-dokey, your turn!
