Thanks!

Brace yourselves... this one might be a little busy. Well, the hubs thinks so! Maybe it's my Robitussin buzz! But you know, I think I kind of like it. He didn't care for the patterned poinsettias, but I think they're fun! I'll let you all be the judge. I put this one together for The Flower Challenge using The Color Hues Challenge colors of teal and silver.

I couldn't let the season go by without using my favorite Waffle Flower poinsettias. I cut them from some old October Afternoon paper, layered each one up then added silver rhinestones to their centers. I used pretty silver cardstock from The Stamp Market for my Altenew sentiment as well as the little Simply Graphic pine sprigs. A postal frame borders the embossed pine in the background.

Off this goes to both galleries.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the get well wishes.

Joy to the World

We've had such a busy year and I haven't had a lot of crafting time. I squeeze it in just for fun and challenge entries when I can; as is the case for today!

I am happy to say my dad has completed his 12 weeks of cardio rehab, started driving again and is doing far better than he was in January! What was to have been an overnight stay in the hospital turned into 3 months of hospital stays and a skilled nursing facility. He finally got the new heart valve in March, in home therapy followed, then 12 weeks of cardio rehab. My mom has macular degeneration and no longer drives. Thankfully we live about three minutes apart. Being here to help them has been a blessing all around. They're pretty special!

I did have some extra time and am in dire need of Christmas cards. My stash is so pathetic! This one went together pretty quickly and works for The Flower Challenge. They're looking for flower cards with embellishments!

An embossed panel was the perfect spot for this big ornament (Lasting Impressions). The center of the poinsettia is embellished with seed beads and the top of the ornament is embellished with a glittery bow (ME) and a rhinestone. A simple tab sentiment by Memory Box was all it needed. Off she goes to the gallery!

I'll see you tomorrow with a new card for Just Us Girls. It's Mood Board week and I'm hosting!

Just Us Girls #778 ~ Love You Forever

Hi there! It's time for another month of new challenges from Just Us Girls. We're excited to have Joanne James joining us as our guest designer! Welcome Joanne! Ina is our hostess for Die Week and she's looking for layers. I put together this little number for my mom's birthday.

I used an oldie but a goodie set from PTI ~ Pretty Peonies as my focal. I stamped and die cut the peony bloom then popped it up on the stamped and die cut leaf layer with foam tape. The butterfly from the set was double stamped with the same ink then die cut. These were added to the rustic cream panel layered with the embossed panel. Another butterfly and sentiment finished my design. I added a final die cut layer in the form of a scalloped panel and a sprinkling of pearls.

What dies will you choose to layer up? Pick some out and come play along with us this week!

Thanks to sweet Michele for reminding me... I'll be sending this over to The Flower Challenge!

Hugs for the Flower Challenge

Good morning friends! I'm popping in for a quick minute before heading out to Mass. I couldn't let the 100th celebration over at The Flower Challenge pass by without sending them a big congratulations hug! They're looking for flowers and circles... here we go!

I saw a card design like this on Pinterest, I think. Not sure who the designer was, but it stuck in my mind and worked perfectly for this challenge. I embossed a panel of Sweet Blush (PTI) cardstock then covered it with a panel that had circle cut outs and a Wonky Stitched (MFT) border. My Poppystamps Nordic Blooms added more circles to the mix! The gold leaves came from the Nordic Fancy Blossom set and the green are PTI's lovely layers. A simply sentiment (IO) was all this needed.

Off she goes to the gallery and off I go to get ready for Mass!
Have a blessed day, friends.

Thanks

Happy Friday! It's a beautiful sunny day here in Ohio. The hubs spent the morning at Sweet P's school for a Veteran's Day assembly. It's a small gym, so it was veterans only. That's okay, they need those special times together too! Our girl was chosen as one of the students to read a poem to the veterans. She was very excited to surprise her papa! My morning was spent putting this card together for The Flower Challenge

This SB Cosmos panel was already foiled so I grabbed the stencils and got to work! I used warm autumn colors then framed it with this pretty PTI Border Bling die. My favorite Altenew thanks fit perfectly. Easy peasy and I love the way it turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hey Friend!

I've been messing around with this card for the Flower Challenge for a few days now. I bought this set from The Stamp Market last year. I think this is only it's second outing. I bought it for the eucalyptus, which I like. The flowers, not so much! I can never seem to get them in a color combination or position on the card that I like. Anyway, this is the result after a few attempts.

I used the two peach tones from the graphic along with the soft yellow and gray. Eucalyptus is typically a more silvery sage green, but I think this one works. I pulled the gray to the front of the card with the pretty Pinkfresh sentiment. What do you think?

I appreciate your thoughts and your visit. I hope you're enjoying your weekend. We're enjoying a much needed cool down!

Beyond Happy For You

Hey there! I'm popping in today with a card for The Flower Challenge. They're looking for layers and it just so happens that I had put quite a few on this card. Take a look...

Yep, I layered up several dies from Poppystamps. The Nordic Majestic Bloom fills the Scallop Stitched Frame nicely, don't you think? And just look at all of it's layers! I backed it with a vellum panel cut with the Nordic Lacy die. I wasn't going to add a sentiment, but this one by Pinkfresh seemed a good fit and it adds yet another layer. The flower head and sentiment are both popped up with foam tape.

Off this goes to the gallery. I hope you have a great weekend. Ours is chilly and rainy at the moment. Welcome to April!

Hugs!

Hello lovelies! I'm sending hugs out to all of you with this card that I made for The Flower Challenge!

They're asking us to add a heart to our floral cards. I happened to have these sweet Poppystamps hearts already cut and just begging to be used. Technically two hearts that became four! After going back and fourth with my flower, I settled on these pretty little Washi roses by Pinkfresh. They have a bit of orange mixed with the bright pink. I thought it was a good pairing for my Berry Sorbet hearts. A simple sentiment by IO was added and then I popped the panel onto my card base with a piece of fun foam.

Off she goes to the gallery!

Thanks

Hello lovelies! I took advantage of a drizzly gloomy day to make a couple of cards. I'll be sharing this one over at The Flower Challenge. They're celebrating their 7th Birthday! This is my thank you to Aileen and Viv for all of the hard work they put into this challenge over the years. Thanks ever so much, ladies!

I was a lucky winner of an Altenew gift certificate recently. This Golden Days stencil set came home to live with me! This set creates one big bloom. I went off the edge on a white panel using warm October colors and then debossed it with another favorite Altenew product. Next, I die cut the panel using an ancient Spellbinders labels set. This gorgeous thanks die is also Altenew.

Off this goes to the birthday gallery!

Hello

The Flower Challenge is looking for dies on our cards this month. So yeah, I might have a few of those! I thought it was a good time to layer up the fabulous Honey Bee cone flower once again.

After die cutting the layers, I did a little ink blending on them. I had a tiny snippet of PP that was just the right color for the center. Lucky me, the leaves were already cut from a previous project. I popped the big bloom onto a lattice panel (WF) that I had added a soft touch of woodgrain stamping to. Then I topped it off with a sentiment from The Stamp Market.

We're finally headed for cooler days. The humid 90's are no fun, 75 is more to my liking! Hope your weather is treating you right today! Thanks for spending a bit of your day with me, friends!

Lovely

I just love The Stamp Market's products and couldn't resist their new Scalloped Frame and Hello Lovely Bloom dies. I put them both together for a second entry at The Flower Challenge. Take a look...

I cut the frame from gold paper then added polka dot vellum to the center. It's such a sweet size ~ 3 1/2" x 5". The large blooms were cut from striped paper and the wee ones from a coordinating paper in the same paper pad. There was a bit of trial and error getting the stand for the frame in the correct spot. Then there is the die cut sentiment that is super thin and a little tricky to get out of the die without tearing it. Ask me how I know! But I love the end result!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

When You Love & Laugh...

Hey there! I'm popping in for a quick minute this afternoon to share the card I made for Freshly Made Sketches. When I finished it, I though it might work for The Flower Challenge too! Two for one, gotta love that!

I brought PTI's Meadow Greens set out to play today! It's always been a favorite of mine. I white heat embossed the Queen Anne's Lace then stamped the stems and leaves. I love the way the white flowers look on the kraft panel!

The Stems reminded me of stripes and the leaves have dots in them as well as all of those sweet dotty flowers. Those are things they're looking for at The Flower Challenge. Do you think it works? Hmmm, maybe!

Thanks for stopping by today, I love it when you do!

Hello

I did an early lawn mowing this morning (getting in a little exercise!) before it got too hot. Then I showered and crashed! I found myself in my crafty space whipping up a CAS card for The Flower Challenge when my energy returned.

I Copic colored this pretty Impression Obsession image then die cut it before adding it to the card base. A little strip of polka dot paper grounded it nicely along with a simple Mama Elephant hello. Easy peasy, and off it goes to the gallery!

Thanks for spending a little of your time with me!

Bloom

I did a little shopping recently and picked up the Big Bloom Bouquet dies from The Stamp Market. I made a card right away then set it aside waiting for somewhere to enter it! As luck would have it, The Flower Challenge is looking for floral cards with sparkle. This one works!

I love all of the dies that come in this set! There's even a fun 'bloom' sentiment included. Mine was cut from glittery cardstock. I used the same cardstock to cut centers for some of the small flowers. In addition to the cardstock leaves, I tucked in a few vellum ones. An easy card to put together!

Ok, off this goes to the gallery.
Thanks for spending a little of your time with me!

A Beautiful Life

Hi there! I had a little play time and put together a card for The Flower Challenge. They're looking for circles. I used a few! I'll also be linking this up at Happy Little Stampers ~ Anything Goes with Dies. Yep, I used a few of those too!

I pulled out an oldie but a goodie by PTI ~ Meadow Greens. The Queen Anne's lace is made up of oodles and oodles of little circles! I started with a couple of stenciled circles, then added the white embossed flowers. Or are they a weed? I think they're too delicate and lacy to be a weed, I'm going with a flower!

Anywho, the leaves in the set also have lots of little circles as their veins. As if that wasn't enough, I added some fun little pierced SG die cuts! The mossy paper in the background is also made up of linked circles. I couldn't stop LOL!

I'm so happy you stopped by to take a peek at my card.  I'll be back on Saturday for a new Just Us Girls challenge!

With Gratitude

So, I did a little watercoloring a couple of weeks ago. I was playing around with a pretty Impression Obsession Evening Primrose image. I'm trying to get the knack of this watercoloring thing. Luck is on my side now and again! Thanks to The Flower Challange, I finished this up last night and will add it to their gallery!

I used a pretty PS die to trim the image down a bit. I like the soft green linen mat peeking through the die cut openings. A simple sentiment (Altenew) was all it needed. Hope you like it!

EDIT * I had no way to contact you, Bev  I hope you stop back! The die is by Pinkfresh Studio.

I always try to add labels for products I've used and mentioned. They're at the end of each post. Hope this helps!

Enjoy your day and stay cool!

90 for us today with storms tonight... blech... humidity!

Love

Hey there! I have a card for you today that's been four days in the making! Stamped on day one, coloring of one bloom and the leaves on day two, the other flowers on day three, ending with the stenciling and assembly today ~ day four. All done while wearing the wrist brace ~ ta-dah! I refuse to let this thing get the best of me!

I needed an anniversary card and liked The Flower Challenge idea of adding a heart to the flowers. I added a few! These pretty Fairy Roses by Impression Obsession were Copic colored. I stenciled on a few hearts then added the love die cut sentiment (also IO). A sprinkling of dew drops and a black for the finish.

Off this goes to the gallery. Thanks ever so much for stopping by!

Guesting at The Flower Challenge!

Hello friends! I'm guesting with the lovely ladies at The Flower Challenge this month... what a treat! They're kicking of the new year with a monochrome theme.

I don't think I've ever done a monochromatic card before, so this was an adventure! As my thoughts mulled over different color palettes I kept coming back to the idea of soft gray. Maybe it's winter brain!

PTI's soft stone paper and ink were my jumping off points. I inked up blooms from Altenew's Beautiful Day set. Double stamping gave me a medium gray while Altenew's Evening Gray ink provided the darkest shade. I treated myself to Pink Fresh Studio's Folk Edge Rectangles for Christmas. I love the way it framed my florals! This panel was popped up with a foam backing. To brighten up the grays, I added some champagne rhinestones.

Thank you ever so much for having me as your guest, Viv! Now I'm off to see what the incredibly talented design team has to share. I hope you'll join me and then play along!

Greetings of the Season

The Flower Challenge is celebrating their 5th birthday! Heck yeah, I'm down for that party!  They're asking us to use a shape along with our flowers. Here we go...

I used the Altenew Poinsettia 3D dies I bought after the holidays last year. For their debut, I used Pale Peony cardstock (PTI) then brushed on a darker pink ink here and there. My shape comes in the form of an old Spellbinders label die. The pretty greenery and berries are also Altenew (Poinsettia & Pine), the sentiment is PTI. I added some glitter at the last minute for glitz. It IS a party after all!

I love the way this turned out and my in house critic gave it two thumbs up with a beautiful thrown in! Shhh, don't tell... he always loves my pink cards!

Thank you to The Flower Challenge for 5 wonderful years!

Here's to many more!

Birthday Wishes

Hello lovelies, it's been awhile!  How about a card for The Flower Challenge.  When I saw their prompt for a die cut flower I knew just the one I wanted to use.

I think I've only used this Altenew die set once ~ gasp. I put it to work today using some water colored paper I made. I love the way the blooms turned out and the leaves too! I popped them onto a mini slimline card that was embossed with an Altenew impression plate. My sentiment (PTI) was added to a pretty little label (PPP).

Thanks for dropping in for a visit. I'll be back in the morning with a new Inspired By post. Hope you'll join me!
