CR84FN #70 ~ Love You Forever!

Hi there! I hope everyone had a good weekend. We enjoyed some beautiful uncharacteristically warm weather for our neck of the woods. My sweet boy Max and I enjoyed a few nice long walks. Then while my hubby took care of a few things in the garage he had his little self a grand time exploring the  front yard and playing with sticks ~ silly pup! I guess you came here for a card, so lets take care of that! This one is for the latest CR84FN challenge using aqua, tan and light yellow.

Some folks think of snowmen as a Christmas stamp. But I think of it as a winter stamp as well. This sweet pair from Impression Obsession works perfectly for a valentine or anniversary card. I've stamped them on a Spellbinders labels 10 die and used papers from the My Mind's Eye: Lavender collection. I'm seriously in love with this paper collection! My heart border, tiny tag and sentiment are by PTI.

Well I suppose that about does it. I wish you all a happy day ~Lisa

CR84FN #68 ~ Noel!

Well hello there! My mom and I had our annual holiday outing this afternoon. There is a large garden center that completely transforms their store into a Christmas extravaganza!! A huge assortment of decorated trees, wreaths, nativities, whimsical what nots yearning to be taken home with you. And can you believe I didn't buy a thing  ~ my mom even treated me to lunch!!!  But I was inspired by all that I saw and came home to make a card. This one is for the CR84FN  color challenge.

I've used several papers from the MME All is Bright paper pad. There are so many fun images and patterns that you can put a card together quickly with no stamping needed if you choose. I decided to use just a tiny tag stamped with some snowflakes and a tiny Noel. I'll put Christmas wishes inside for the recipient. My grosgrain bow is adorned with die cut holly leaves (PTI), a jingle bell from Hobby Lobby and some pretty Jenny Bowlin stick pins.

That's it for me tonight friends ~Lisa

CR84FN #66 ~ Very Merry!

Hi there and a happy Monday to you! I hope you all enjoyed a pleasant weekend. I spent a few hours Sunday getting down with my cooking self while listening to a Michael Buble' CD!! I have a made from scratch chicken pot pie recipe that my family loves, so I put together several of those and took some over to the kids. Our sweeter than sweetest daughter-in-law is under the weather. Thought some comfort food would help. And as a thank you to my hubs for the painting job last week I made him his favorite apple pie! So today I gave myself some crafty time. This one is for the CR84FN challenge using gray, tan and cream.

All of my stamps and die cuts are Papertrey Ink. I went with the teeny sentiment on my tiny tag since I used a My Mind's Eye paper with a Christmas text pattern. A few pewtery gray gems for a bit of wintery sparkle and a snippet of a square lace doily to echo my lacy snowflakes and the lace in the inspiration photo.

That just about does it today. Can you believe this is my 300th post! Have I had that much to say LOL!!! Thanks so much for popping in ~Lisa

CR84FN #65 ~ Homespun Holiday Wishes!

Good morning all! I saw on the news yesterday morning that some parts of the US could expect up to 10 or 12" of snow! Oh my goodness I am NOT ready for that. It kind of put snowflakes on my brain I suppose and this is what came out of it ~ a card for the CR84FN color challenge!

Edit: This card was chosen for publication in the Dec. 2013 issue of Cards!

Now this is the kind of snowflake a girl can handle!! The Hero Arts variety that is. I just love this sweet card. A collection of soft pink papers (MME), ink, ribbon and gems. The little polka dot stars and tiny pink hearts are from my PTI: Love Lives Here holiday set along with one of the sentiments in the collection. A combination of PTI vintage cream grosgrain ribbon and a snippet of pink gingham from my stash make up my bow adorned with a small gold jingle bell and tiny tag.

That just about does it for me today friends. I'm glad to be enjoying the mid 70's we have here in Ohio this week. So happy I'm not in the snowy parts of the US...brrrr!!! Take care and blessings on your day ~Lisa

CR84FN ~ Don't Mess With the Princess!

Hello friends! I have a sweet card to share today that I'm entering over at CR84FN. The colors they've given us to work with are light blue, yellow and green. I must admit I had to play around a bit with the placement of my colors. But once I had my plan in motion I was off and running and happy with the way this turned out!

This sweet little gal is from one of the Pure Innocence collections at My Favorite Things ~ love her to BITS! And the sentiments with this set are equally as cute. Just look at this one! This kinda of strikes a cord with me. You see years ago while on a lovely girls vacation on Mackinac Island I dubbed my mom the Queen of Everything and I was the Princess of Quite a Lot!! So this sentiment sort of suits me to a tee!! Not that I'm difficult to get along with or anything LOL ~ hey hubs...no comments!!

This as sweet as sweet can be blue floral paper is by Jillibean and the green print DP is Crate Paper. I stamped her on a Spellbinders label 10 and paper pieced her little dress then added a couple of pearls. A touch of blue chalk around the edges of my label to soften it a bit. My green die cuts and sentiment banner are from PTI, the yellow monarch border is MFT as are the felt mini rolled roses. A couple of lemon yellow buttons and this princess is full of 'tude!

Thanks for peeking in today, I'm so glad you did ~Lisa

CR84FN #63 ~ Sending a Hug!

Hi friends! I hope you all had a pleasant weekend. Ours was a quiet one just spending time together. Saturday was rainy ~ a perfect day to snuggle in and watch old movies. I did squeeze in a bit of card making. This card is for the CR84FN challenge. I wanted to give the denim, tan and brown colors a try.

SU early espresso filled the bill for brown. I used a Martha Stewart polka dot envelope and tag along with a tiny strip of tickets for my tan. A Hero Arts paisley stamp and a sentiment by A.Muse decorate my tag. Some denim patching material worked perfectly as die cuts. I used my beautiful blooms and scalloped border from PTI. I layered the blooms together, backed them with a PTI limitless layers die cut then added them all to the envelope backed with a paper doily. Another denim bloom was tucked in behind my sentiment tag. My pretty DPs are from My Minds Eye.

I think it turned out kind of cute! Hope you like it. ~Lisa

CR84FN # 61 ~ My Heart is Always With You!

Our Monday brought a rainy gloomy day; how is your week starting? Rainy days are good stamping days for me. Just something cozy about being snuggled indoors hearing the light rain and having my craft goodies all around me. Max and I got our walks in despite the rain. He gets dried off on the front porch before going in then runs around the house like a crazy boy pouncing and barking ~ silly little pup!

I liked the heart locket in the inspiration photo and decided to incorporate hearts onto my card. With those cozy thought of home in mind I pulled out My PTI: love lives here set and set out to make a card for CR84FN. Aqua, tan and cream is a pretty color combination. I chose to use a couple of shades of aqua with My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon papers paired with a touch a PTI felt. My flowers and scalloped border die cuts are PTI and the label framing my house are Spellbinders #10. I just love this label set. But you probably know that since I use it a lot!. I layered some aqua ribbon that came on a prize I won at my niece's shower along with a sweet tan gingham. The teeny heart trios and sentiment are from PTI.

I hope you week is starting off well, thanks for stopping by ~Lisa

CR84FN #59 ~ Happy Birthday!

Hello! I almost let time slip away before entering my card at CR84FN! Don't you hate it when you have the card ready then go to link it up only to find the challenge has closed!?! Well not this time I have a day and a couple of hours to spare. Coral, Brown and Tan are the colors we've been given this week.

I started with two panels from the MME: Rosy collection. Next I layered on the die cut filigree border from PTI. The cute bingo paper is Echo Park and was die cut with my PTI spiral notebook page. The bingo markers are gems and little hole punch pieces. My fancy Inkadinkado dragonfly is stamped on a Spellbinders label 18. I added the corner stamps (also Inkadinkado) to echo the fancy scrolls and flourishes in the dragonfly wings. This scrap of ribbon is very gauzy and a touch on the flimsy side so I tied in some button twine to the bow to give it a bit more umph! This entire panel was added to a Calypso Coral (SU) card base with foam tape.

Thanks so much for taking a peek at My Paper Tales today I appreciate it! ~Lisa

CR84FN #58 ~ Lazy Hazy Days of Summer!

Hello out there in blogland! It's a HOT one here in Ohio again so it calls for a bit of laziness indoors ~hee! Hey I went to the dentist this afternoon and have been numb on the left side of my face, so that calls for laziness! I had a chip on a molar that needed repairing and at this moment I can feel my nose again!!! So on this lazy hazy day of summer I whipped up a fun little vintagey number for the CR84FN challenge that calls for red and yellow.

I was drawn to the flowers and polka dots (go figure)! My card base is covered in this fun Lily Bee Design: Double Dutch polka dot paper and some sweet red paper by October Afternoon that was die cut with my PTI scalloped border. Some fun OA: Farmhouse diecuts got the the sewing theme rolling. Two tiny wooden spools were used; one covered in a scrap of paper and the other with twine. I made two MFT felt (PTI harvest gold) mini rolled roses and scattered a few buttons. My sentiment is from the PTI: Love Lives Here set. I love these little vintage safety pins and thought they fit in nicely.

I also want to give a BIG WELCOME to my newest followers! THANKS so much for joining me at My Paper Tales, I appreciate each and every one of you!!! ~Lisa

CR84FN #57 ~ You Make Me Smile!

Good golly Miss Molly is it HOT or what!?! We've had power outages, cable and internet issues. Thankfully the power doesn't stay off too long so the house doesn't get unbearable. I hope things are well with all of you and this heat lets up soon. My prayers continue for the folks in Colorado...scary, scary stuff there. But you came here for a card right! So lets get onto the crafty subject shall we!

Bright pink is not one of my go to colors, but I do like a good challenge so I dove into this one head first! This week at CR84FN they have given us bright pink, tan and neutral. I went all out with full coverage on the bright pink here with a sheet of lacy DP from Crate Paper. Then I toned it down a bit with some frilly layers. I am head over heels in LOVE with this precious little strawberry paper! Oooo how it does make me smile. Is this not the sweetest little morsel of yumminess! I might have to hoard my last sheet! I die cut this with my PTI: mat stack 5 die then added it to my card with a doily sponged in creamy brown ink to bring it to a soft shade of tan. Next I die cut a PTI: picket fence and stamped it with my tiny strawberry by Judith. I colored them with markers and added a touch of glitter then added it to the card with foam tape. This is my last little snippet of kraft lace from Hobby Lobby. Hmmm do I see a trip there in my future!?! A couple of Martha Stewart punched butterflies and October Afternoon buttons for more pink and one of my favorite Inkadinkado sentiments.

Stay cool sweet bloggy friends! ~Lisa

CR84FN 356 ~ Hello Friend!

Hello friends, I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We celebrated Father's Day with a small cookout. My hubby grilled up some yummy burgers and fresh corn on the cob...mmm....mmm! I know you're probably thinking why was HE cooking on Father's Day!?! Well lets just say it's his thing and he loves to do it! My folks were over along with our son. Our sweet DIL was at home with severe issues from wisdom teeth being removed two months ago. She's been in pain and had swelling ever since with many trips back to the dentist. A trip to the ER Saturday with major pain and swelling revealed bone slivers to be the culprit. Oral surgery this morning to remove them so hopefully that's the end of it for her.  She and my hubs texted a bit and as he read it aloud he was instructed to give grandpa a hug from her ~ my dad stood up to collect a big ol' hug...heee! Love those two...three!!!

Now how about a card. CR84FN has given us the lovely yellow and gray combo to work with, how can you pass that one up.

I was inspired by the scalloped plates in the photo so I die cut a scalloped circle into my gray card base then added this fun floral DP from Authentique behind it. A couple of PTI flower fusion #10 and a little tattered bloom I created are clustered along with gems and a button. I used a portion of a $1.99 clear frame stamp in the corners and stamped a few teeny bumble bees in the focal area. The bottom portion of my card is layered with more Authentique paper to echo the dark stripes in the photo; one strip being die cut with my fav PTI heart border. Vintage cream grosgrain ribbon and button twine complete with a PTI tiny tag holding a wee sentiment finish off my card.

Thanks for visiting My Paper Tales today ~Lisa

CR84FN #55 & FMS #37 ~ Hello!

Hello and thanks for popping by to visit! Today's card is one I put together using the lovely colors of lavender, celery and gray from CR84FN and following the design from Freshly Made Sketches.
This is such a pretty color combination and I wanted to add a touch of twinkle to it so I reached for my little fairy from Past Time Stamps. Her butterfly wings and hair look so sweet when the glittered is added. She's mounted onto limitless layers and mat stack 4 die cuts from Papertrey Ink. I also added some glitter to a few teeny lavender roses and just a touch to the PTI tiny tag holding the greeting from Morning Star Stamps. This pretty celery floral paper is from my Lily Bee Designs: Picket Fence collection. I trimmed one edge with trim from Hobby Lobby and the other with a row of delicate lavender pearls. My sheer gray ribbon has a bit of shimmer to it that I think compliments the glitter accents quite well.

Enjoy your day ~Lisa

CR84FN #54 ~ Warm Wishes!

Hello bloggy friends! I'm back today with an entry for the CR84FN challenge ~ mint, blue and neutral. I was inspired by the overall softness of the inspiration photo and set out to make a slightly vintage soft card.

I started my card with two DPs containing the challenge colors. The first is from Crate Paper and the second is a scrap of a postal paper I picked up ages ago. Next I layered on a doily and a die cut (paper MME, die PTI). My little tag is stamped with a Northwoods sentiment and a flourish from Magenta. My sweet tiny bird and the teeeny tiny leaves are by Impression Obsession. This was accented with a PTI postage stamp die cut, buttons and ruffly ribbon from my stash. I used a warm brown chalk ink to soften the edges of the card and elements.

Thanks for popping in today ~Lisa

CR84FN #53 ~ Sending a Hug!

Hello and happy Wednesday! Where has the time gone; the days seem to be flying by. I almost forgot my entry for the CR84FN challenge! When I saw the colors of pink, aqua and neutral I knew just the paper I wanted to use as my jumping off point. This sweet floral print from MME: howdy doody collection! I just love that name ~ hee!! All of the pretty flowers in the photo were my inspiration.

I pulled the coordinating polka dot paper and used a PTI fillable frames to die cut it. I layered a Spellbinders: labels 18 die cut to this holding my sentiment and a pretty peony from PTI. My "sending a hug" sentiment is generic so to speak, and will make this card suitable for many different occasions. I found this beautiful aqua trim at the stamping convention along with these little roses ~ aren't they sweet!  My tiny tag is also stamped with a pretty peony. A few buttons and pins complete the picture. Hope you like it!
Have a delightful day ~Lisa

CR84FN #52 & FMS #31 ~ Just a Note!

Welcome! I hope everyone enjoyed a relaxing weekend. Here's an example of an Ohio spring. My husband was off Friday (yay!!!) so we scooped up Max and took the boat to the lake. It was a beautiful and warm 77 ~ a picnic lunch while bobbing about, birds chirping, ducks and geese frolicking in the water, shorts and a tank top. Skip ahead to Saturday and Sunday ~ rainy cold and walking Max in my winter coat and gloves ~ HA!!! Talk about extremes...sheesh. Anyway it's been a wonderful weekend non the less. And today I have a card to share that I'm entering into the CR84FN and Freshly Made Sketches challenges. Colors and layout set up for my lazy Sunday self...woohoo!

I started with a swiss dot tan cardstock then layered on pretty papers from the MME: Madison Ave collection. An EK Success border punch and BasicGrey stamps were used on the left tan/cream panel. I tied a button into my ivory ribbon with twine then added a PTI tiny tag stamped with a sentiment and a couple of wee flourishes. I added a few more buttons and fabric daisies for interest. My pretty label is from My Favorite Things: die cut then stamped with this lovely crown by The Moon Rose. I love the way this card turned out...sweet, dreamy and feminine.

Thanks for stopping by friends ~Lisa

CR84FN #51 & RS #6 ~ Butterfly Kisses!

Hi there! I hope everyone had a blessed Easter holiday. Ours was filled with a beautiful Easter Vigil Mass, family and lots of yummy food! Oh the joy of biting into a chocolate covered strawberry! Mmm mm mm. What restraint I had while dipping them on Saturday and not touching them until Sunday ~ HA!!!

Now that the holiday is over and the clean up is complete I got back to some card making today. Sorry for my absence. There were things to do since we hosted dinner for 10 this year. On top of that I was cleaning sticky goo off of my scissors being oh so careful as always. But they sliced right through the cotton ball and into my thumb! Right on the end...ouch...such a bad place impossible to bandage. It's on the mend but good grief what a bugger!!!

I've put together a card using the lovely soft colors from CR84FN ~ pink, peach and light blue and the latest Retro Sketches design. All of the DPs are from My Mind's Eye, all of my die cuts are PTI. The pretty little corner stamp is Inkadinkado and the sentiment is by Rubber Moon. I sanded the edges of the peach panel and added a tiny key from my stash. I think this one turned out kind of dreamy!!

Thanks for visiting! ~Lisa
I would also like to give a shout out and thank you to Skye for honoring me with another Liebster award. Stop by her blog and show her some love!!

CR84FN #50 ~ God's Blessings!

Welcome! How is your day going? Max and I have had a nice long walk this morning and he's currently lounging to cool off. We have an expected high of 80 today! My little fur boy is hot since this is the last day of his thick winter coat. Off to the groomer tomorrow to get his new do! He always looks like such a little pip squeak after all of that thick fur is cut off!!

Speaking of our walk I found a treasure while on one earlier this year!!! I spotted something colorful on the sidewalk several yards in front of us. Once we were upon it I discovered a perfect length of bright pink and white gingham ribbon that had been rained on all night. A tiny squeal of delight thinking "I can use this, I can use this, I can't leave this here" ~HA!! I brought it home, gave it a wash and knew it would one day have a use. So today I have a bright spring card using a snippet of my little treasure that I'll enter into the CR84FN challenge.
I just love the way this card turned out. Orange is usually a tough color for me but I finally decided to embrace it and let it shine! I punched both sides of a paper strip from BasicGrey: Out of Print using an EK Success scalloped punch. These cute boots are from a 12 x12 sheet of Autumn Leaves paper I've had forever. It's full of colorful boots so I fussy cut two orange ones. The top one is popped up with foam tape then I added two bright pink do dads to bling them up. This pretty scrolled sentiment is by DeNami Designs and my tiny butterflies were made with a Martha Stewart punch. And of course my little treasure of ribbon and a fun chunky button.

That's all for me friends, errands to run. Have a delightful day ~Lisa

CR84FN #50 ~ Sweet Treats!

The temps are in the 70's here in Ohio...in MARCH...I actually wore flip flops yesterday...in MARCH...in OHIO!!! What the heck is going on?? Hey I'm not complaining one bit. Well maybe just a tiny bit since the grass is getting green earlier than usual and that means mowing sooner than usual. I think I'll be doing a bit more of that since my hubby's days are longer. Oh well it's good exercise...right! These warm temps have put me in a playful mood so I whipped up a jar of sweet treats to give to someone special. Mona at CR84FN has given us a bright and cheerful color pallet this week. Take a look...pretty huh!

I was inspired by the glass and the little floral package toppers. So I just had fun and added a boatload of sweet little elements using these happy colors

My project began by searching for candies in pink, orange and yellow wrappers. Sounds easy huh...not so. I thought with all of the Easter goodies filling the stores I would snap up something pretty quickly. Finally I found a bin full of Starbursts...whew ~ my plan was not to be foiled! I filled my little jar and then went to work on the decorating. I started with adding this cute orange polka dot fabric with orange & white twine. Next I used the PTI medium scalloped border to die cut their pink Hibiscus Burst felt. Isn't this over sized ball fringe fun ~ I found it at Joann's!!! I used my mini hot pink staples to attach it to the felt border then added the strip to the jar with score tape. I played around with a paper doily to bring it down to the jar lid size. I folded in half over and over, unfolded then worked the little pleats. I made two small folds in the center. The center was kind of bunched, but I knew it would be covered. Love the way the edges look though! Next came this fun paper flower that my SIL (aka: stamping buddy!) gave me ages ago. I die cut a PTI beautiful blooms flower with a bright yellow polka dot paper from Lasting Impressions and added my button to it with more of the orange & white twine. Finally a couple of PTI tiny tags and a bright pink button for some dangles!!

Hope this cheerful little project brightens your day! Thanks for visiting ~Lisa

CR84FN #49 & SSSC #53 ~ God Bless You!

I have a fun card to share that I've put together for two challenges ~

Isn't this a sweet little sketch and a refreshing inspiration photo! I was inspired by the kraft wrapped packages with their cute little embellishments. So I've incorporated a few of them into my card.

I started with a soft buttery yellow card base layered with a kraft panel and a piece of pretty floral DP from Authentique: Blissful 6x6. Next I die cut a piece from the same paper pack using my PTI medium scalloped border. It had a ruler design like one of the packages in the photo! I topped this with a sweet little yellow velvet scalloped ribbon. My chipboard bird by Jenni Bowlin is covered with a script DP then layered with an assortment of kraft lace, fringe ball trim, button twine and buttons. Love the vintage safety pin I've attached my tiny heart tag with! The little dot circle under the button on the wing is a Hero Arts stamp and the teeny flowers on the tag are PTI. This simple little sentiment from Inkadinkado lets me use the card for any occasion.

That's all for now friends. Don't forget about my blog candy; you have one more day!!  ~Lisa

CR84FN #48 ~ I'm Still Here!

I'm still here! Sorry to have been MIA for a few days. We had an unexpected death in our family and I just wasn't in a much of a creative mood. I've gotten back in to the swing of things today though and am playing along with the CR84FN challenge.

These beautiful spring colors brought one thing to mind...my mom's birthday! Her birthday isn't for a few months. But the two of us have shared a few of them together at one of our favorite places to visit ~ Mackinac Island. While our men were on those manly fishing trips in Canada, we were drinking in the beauty of the island and smelling the fragrance of the lilacs that were in full bloom! They are my favorite flower on the planet!

This card began with a wisteria cardstock from Bazzill covered with a pretty green floral panel from lilybeedesign: picket fence . I die cut the lilacs (from the same paper pack) using a MFT die. The pretty filigree border is PTI. One is brushed lightly with a soft gray ink while the other was cut from the text portion of the lilac paper. My tiny postage stamp is a PTI die as well cut from a scrap of decorative paper. The wooden crown comes from the Etsy shop called The Porkchop Show; some former winnings. Perfect for my sweet mom!! I hand cut the little sentiment banner stamped with a PTI stamp. I love the subtle touch of shine from the lavender pearls and chunky button.

That's it for me today friends; errands to run! Thanks so much for stopping by to visit ~Lisa
