Beautiful Day!

It's been a long time since I played along at  Fusion. When I saw their pretty blue and yellow photo, not to mentioned the fun sketch the other day, I knew it was time to jump back in!

I used LF Quilted Backdrop, popped out the little dots and backed it with yellow cardstock. My die cut tag (MFT) was topped with stamped images from Altenew's Beautiful Day set. I colored the images with a water pen and watercolor pencils then added some WOS.
Off this goes to the Fusion gallery!
Thanks for visiting today!

Sending a Hug

Well hello there, long time no see! I've been a little under the weather since Christmas and have't had the mojo to craft. But I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. And hey...guess what!! I'm guesting with the fabulous design team at Fusion today! Yep, that's right, my long time blogging friend Jen Mitchell (I create) sent me an invitation to join her for their anniversary celebration! I decided to jump into the challenge with both feet and fuse the sketch with the inspiration photo.

When I saw the colors on the beautiful butterflies in the inspiration photo, I remembered this patterned paper (MME) I had. I used one of my favorite PPP dies to cut them out. If you look closely, you'll find a trio of vellum butterflies fluttering about too. And hey Michele, buttons...just for you!
Thanks ever so much for inviting me to join in the fun sweet Jen. Happy Anniversary Fusion!

Merry Christmas!

Hi there! I'm trying to get caught up on Christmas cards and I have a loooong way to go ~ yikes! To speed up my process I'm using leftovers from several 12 Kit of Occasions goodies. Once this one was finished I thought I would see if it fit into any challenges. Yep, I think it works just right for the sketch portion of the Fusion challenge.

I embossed a white panel, die cut the plaid panel with a PPP border then added the leftover deer and sentiment. Everything went onto a kraft card base and voila, one more is complete. Now if they could all be that easy!

Fusion & House of Cards ~ I Am

Well hello there! Did you have a fabulous Friday? I had another snuggled filled day with my little Sweet P. It was a lovely warm sunny day, so we had ourselves a walk! Lots of birds chirping, pretty daffodils, fragrant hyacinths and trees beginning to show signs of life with their teeny little leaves! God's beautiful world inspired me to create something this evening. And Fusion provided me with a sketch.

It seems like I waited an eternity and a day for these PTI butterfly dies to come back in stock. I've used them in place of the circles in the sketch. The sentiment was already on my DP and I think God will be pleased. A sprinkling of PPP Metallic Gold 4mm Sequins add just the right amout of sparkle. This was quick to make and I love the way it turned out. It was well worth the wait for my butterflies!

I'll link this up at the House of Cards too where my butterflies fit their challenge!

Have a wonderful weekend ~ Lisa

A Little Note!

Hello sweet friends! I had a quiet morning the other day as Max snoozed following our long walk and the towels tumbled in the dryer. So I got my crafty on and made this simple card for the Fusion Challenge called {The Beach House}. When I saw their inspiration photo a few days ago I had an idea that began brewing in my mind and this is what became of it!

I knew that I would use my pretty Hydrangea (Inkadinkado) I bought while vacationing at Cape Cod a few years ago. I've mentioned here before that I fell in love with Nantucket. The hydrangeas in full bloom, those pretty little salt box houses and the cobbled stoned Main Street just stole my heart away! I think if I had a beach house, I would decorate it with that memory using soft aqua, white and pale buttery yellow...mmmm...a dreamy thought.

This was an easy peasy card using both the sketch and the photo. I snugged the two embossed DPs together and die cut the small MFT doily (thanks Larissa!) from them as well as one from white cardstock. The soft yellow DP is actually from the packaging for the pearls! After adhering the paper to my card base, I stamped the sentiment (Endless Creations) then added my hydrangea to the doily with a foam dot. A few pearls and it was a wrap!
Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to stop by. I know there are a lot of card blogs to visit, I appreciate that you made me one of your stops! ~Lisa

Fusion #3 ~ Let's Party!

Hey there whoever found spring and returned it to Ohio...thanks a bunch!! It's back to the low 60's and sunny...I'm a happy girl! Max and I had a splendid walk this morning. The birds were in a very chipper mood, they sang to us the whole time! Took a moment while I had a load of laundry in to make a card using the latest Fusion sketch.

I saw the flourish in the sketch and thought this little lizard's tail would work perfectly there! He's one of those stamps I bought at convention a couple of years ago and I think this is the second time he's seen ink. I'm not really sure if I like him or not, must be the whole lizard thing! But it was cheap ($1.99!) and I thought it would be good for masculine cards. Now this paper, on the other hand, I like a lot! It has the stripes on one side and those sweet polka dots on the other! I die cut two MFT leaves, scored the center of one and popped it up. The lizard is popped up too and I put an extra bit of curl in his tail for fun. Oh and by the way he's by Inkadinkado and came with this funky sentiment.

Well I guess that about does it for me. Off to fold towels and hopefully get my haircut this afternoon! Have yourselves a delightful day and thanks for stopping by! ~Lisa

Fusion #1 & CFC # 97 ~ Thanks!

Well hello! Did you know there's a new card challenge in town, it's called Fusion. They give you two choices, a sketch and an inspiration photo. You can pick either one or you can combine the two for fusion! Sounded interesting to me so I thought I would play along. For their first challenge I decided to go for fusion! Since I have chevrons and flowers I'm playing along with CAS-ual Fridays too!

Now you would think with all of the stamps, paper, washi and so on and so on that I have, there would have been some chevrons among the bunch. There was a bit of paper but it was the wrong color. What to do, what to do??? I had an Einstein moment...and kerpow fusion!!! I would use a single sentiment word to make my own chevrons!  I like the way it turned out too, hope you do! For the dark areas of the sketch I stamped an Impression Obsession bouquet of forget me nots and colored them using the photo colors then punched them out. To mimic the ruffly cake plate I backed them with a circle scallop punch. And that's it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, have a delightful weekend ~Lisa
