Joy to the World

Hey there!  I pulled up another of my ready to go Christmas cards to add to The Paper Players gallery today.  They're looking for CAS cards and I think this one fits right in!

I made a few cards similar to this one last year and loved them. I used strips of patterned paper adhered to a thin card base then die cut them with an ornament die. The beaded garland EF is no longer available, but isn't it beautiful! It's most definitely a favorite in my collection! I topped things off with sentiments from The Greetery and a a trio off confetti bits (PPP).

Wishing all of my US  friends a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving! Gobble till you wobble!

'Tis the Season!

Hi friends! Did you have a good weekend? Ours was a lazy one. Just the hubs and I. Saturday Mass, take out followed with more laziness and some old movies on Sunday. Sometimes you just have to chill out and do nothing!  So today I got it in gear. Made a pumpkin pie, chicken pot pies and then a card! This one is for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge

I went right down the middle with a sparkly red ornament, embossed and die cut holly. My ornament is Top Dog Dies, remember them? I'm loving this sentiment set from The Greetery. The script font is so pretty! Then of course I had to bring out my favorite PTI Holly Jolly dies. Quick and easy, hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by!

FMS #367 ~ Merry Christmas

Hey there! Popping in for a quick minute today with a card for Freshly Made Sketches.

I've used lots of sparkle, a poinsettia from Altenew and an ornament die from Top Dog Dies. The poinsettia center was made from PPP seed beads. I hadn't planned on it, but don't those wispy embossed branches in the background make it look like the ornament is hanging on a tree? Who knew!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a post for Precious Remembrance Shop.
Hope to see you then.

Joyful Holiday Greetings!

Hello lovlies! We've had our first real taste of winter. Nasty driving conditions and cold temps. I say that as one who has not been out in it LOL!

I've combined a few companies on this little number. The penguin and holly are Papertrey Ink, ornament by Top Dog Dies, Frame  (Stitched Notes)and Mini Tag by Pretty Pink Posh.

I'm entering this one over at Addicted to CAS. They are asking for sparkle. I think this works, how about you?

12 Kits Part Two!

As promised, I'm back with more cards made from my Sweet Pea Kit for the 12 Kits of Occasions! If you missed yesterday's post check it out here, I have a giveaway! Speaking of Sweet Pea, my stamp set is on sale this month at Precious Remembrance Shop! You can pick it up for a mere $10!

Polka dots and sweet pea pods, what could be cuter!

I punched a couple of extra butterflies from my glittery gold paper scraps. I also used a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 4 die. I'll enter this one in Darnell's NBUS challenge. The digi image is new to me!

The rocking horse paper came from the 6x6 pad I used for the kit.

PPP Mini Tag dies were used on this one to cut some scraps and a sentiment. I also used a floral embossing folder.

And finally some embossed polka dots ground little bits and bobs that were leftover. Once again I used a PPP Mini Tag die for the sentiment.

And there you have it. The end of a plethora of cards made from a Sweet Pea Kit inspired by my tiny Sweet P!! Thanks for visiting ~Lisa

cQc #336 ~ For You, With Love!

Hello! Arielle has done it yet again with another super cute inspiration photo for our new ColourQ challenge! I dove right in and came up with this for my card. I hope it inspires you to play along with us this week!

After dry embossing a white panel, I added a very thin black mat to it before adhering it to my card base. My Reverse Confetti sentiment was embossed in white then die cut with a PPP Stitched Borders 3 die. When looking through my SU paper for some Lucky Limeade, I found this Top Dog Dies leafy flourish already cut. I popped on two MFT felt (PTI: Autumn Rose) rolled roses and a trio of buttons.

I'm so happy you spent some time out of your day with me! Blessings ~Lisa

The Paper Players #253 ~ Your Kindness...

Hey there! Ready for a new challenge at the Paper Players? This week is all about color. Jaydee has a lovely soft palette for you to work with!

I didn't have any Mint Macaron paper, so I set out to find something suitable in my collection of 6x6 pads. After adding that to my card base, I die cut a coordinating piece from a PTI border die. My sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark ink then heat embossed with Liquid Platinum powder by Ranger. Next came the Top Dog Dies Darby Doily cut from Sahara Sand.

And finally, for my focal, I stamped and die cut the delicate Queen Anne's Lace from PTI's Meadow Greens. I stamped the center of the flower twice, rotating the block just a bit the second time. This let the light mint stems show up a little better. This was popped up on the card before adding the stem.

We hope you have time to play along this week. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be blessed ~Lisa

FMS #165 & SSS ~ Merry & Bright!

Hi! I finally got my card finished, took three tries!! The first one was just plain old ugly, the second I smeared the ink, then I finally changed gears all together and came up with this one. I'm entering it at Freshly Made Sketches. I really liked Cindy's sketch and wanted to give it a go! Simon Says Stamp has a Christmas Holiday challenge, so I'm playing along there too!

I started with the splatter portion of the sketch using the fun star splatters from the Precious Remembrance Shop Journey stamp set. I wanted this to be a Christmas card so I switched out the heart for a TDD ornament. My PTI sentiment was a survivor from the first two messed up cards!! Not wanting it to go to waste, I added it here then used some new Snowflakes Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh ~ love them!!

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your Friday! ~Lisa

A Vintage Christmas Pair With Top Dog Dies!

Hello sweet friends! Have you had a good week so far? Our weather has turned a bit colder,  had to break out a winter coat...boo! I don't like wearing a coat. My sweet little Max has a special spring in his step when the weather grows colder. And glory be the boy loves snow. You can be sure he'll get his fill of chasing snowballs and shoving his little face into the snow again this year!

The thought of winter weather and warmer coats inspired me to put together this card. I remembered some MME paper I had from last year. I'm showcasing more Top Dog Dies today too. The Darby Doily and Tags set along with the Leafy Flourishes were the starting points. After die cutting them from a shimmery damask white paper, I layered banners (MME paper) under them. I added the cut out portions of the flourish back in with foam tape then brushed a bit of smokey blue chalk over them.

I started with a white card base then a panel of DP covered with vellum was added. There's a lot going on at the top of the card so I thought the vellum overlay would tone things down a bit. Vintage tinsel and sparkly gems seemed appropriate on this card.  My own personal card critic saw it on the computer screen and said "That looks pretty busy, whatever it is"!!!! Shhhhh...I think he might be right, what do you think, too busy?

The card needed a companion so I put together this gift tag. I have a sister-in-law that likes vintage Victorian things and I thought this would be a nice set for her Christmas gift.

I made my own tag then added the die cuts to it. I used a bit of vellum on the Ornament &Tags #1 die cut to keep the soft look going. I love the mix of tinsel and seam binding on this!

Well I think that does it for me today. Enjoy your day and thanks so much for taking the time to visit. ~Lisa

Spead Your Wings!

Hi friends I have something fun to share with you today. A few weeks ago I received a lovely email from Meagan Morris the Digital Marketing Manager for Top Dog Dies. She invited me to be a guest designer to showcase a few of their products. They are a new company that offers a super selection of Steel Rule and Wafer Thin dies. They are also made right here in the good old USA! So after a bit of correspondence and receiving my dies I have gotten to work and have my first project to share with you today!  I guess you might say I'm spreading my wings again *wink*!

This card starts with the Darby Doily and Tags Die Set. Don't you just love this pretty square doily!  After layering this onto a white panel. I added one of the pretty little Leafy Flourishes Die Set at the top by weaving it in front and behind the doily.  This was added to a sage green card base with foam tape. Next I adhered a sweet doily I picked up while on vacation this summer and topped it with a Tin Pin (Darcie). A couple of more Leafy Flourishes and a shimmery bow went on next. Finally I added the tag from the set by simply looping it over one of the vines and adding a bit of foam tape to hold it in place! This darling sentiment is from a Flourishes stamp set gifted to me by my sweet friend Silke!

Here's a close up of the die cuts for you. Look at all of the pretty detail in this doily ~ swoon!! I am in love with the sweet little leaves on the flourishes! I have the Spellbinder's Grand Calibur die cutting machine and these worked beautifully in it. The come out clean and easy!

Thanks so much for visiting today. I'll be back with a pretty Christams card to share using more Top Dog Dies soon!! Pop over to their site to have a look around, you won't be disappointed!! ~Lisa
