Albany ,NY is where this grungy rock band was from . The bassist ,Surgeon General ,was in a NYHC band in 1983 ,"Capitle". Side a is pure grunge ,with almost Gibby-like vocals. Side b is harder edged,bridging hard core to grunge.Not bad for 1991 ,their second release ,on Erl Records. From the 99 cent bin!

THE MISFITS -Live Michigan WCBN

A live recording,from approx,late 82 ,early 83 ,from a radio station in Michigan.Some of the tracks listed on the back cover are wrong,one is missing,and one is mis-spelled.I corrected all that,but in these grooves ,you will find the boys doing a song, rarely played live ,"Who Killed Marilyn?"Doyle's guitar is more often than not,out of tune,and it sounds as if he's playing the tunes wrong at a few points,he's so de-tuned.Danzig does his best to sing to this,and you can tell,by this point in his career,he's pissed!Songs from the upcoming(at the time) Earth A.D. album are performed,as well as the classics.I haven't seen this particular show posted elsewhere,so come and get it!!WCBN ? Isn't that the "Christian Broadcast Network"? ha,ha!

MISFITS - vampira

It's October,and all thru the month I will be sprinkling the blog with Halloween related music.Lets start off with this compilation of tracks from 4 different bootlegs from the Misfits.Spanning from 1979 to 1983, there are live songs from NJ,NY,and MI,plus some demos from Ambionic Studios.I have lots more Misfits boots for ya,too!On Baby Face Records.How about that cheezy logo,and skull,wtf is that??!!?I just saw a recent picture of Danzig,with a Danzig t-shirt on,coming out of the grocery store with a bag of cat litter! I hope he's making bombs with it!

WE STILL CAN'T HELP IT IF WE'RE FROM FLORIDA-compilation single

The second release on Burrito Records was this fine comp.following up on Destroy Records comp.,"We Can't Help It If We're From Florida,from 1983.This is from 1992,and has some winners on it.Slap Of Reality offers up what sounds like it could be a Dag Nasty out-take.Roach Motel,and Chickenhead make appearances,as well as 5 other bands.Maggot Sandwich has 2 songs,one is 10 seconds long,the other is five seconds long.and a short one ends it all with Milk and Cookies.Put this in the time capsule,it's a piece of punk rock history!
