THE ALLSTONIANS - Goodnight Daniel b/w Allston,Mass/Grey Afternoon

Third wave ska band from Allston,Mass. ,that owes much to the Specials and the Skatelites. I know they put out 3 lp's ,but this single is a conundrum. Not listed in any of their discographies (in fact no singles are listed at all!) , this must be a rare piece. Got it at a place called Java Town ,a small record shop/band space ,that catered to the kids of Ft. Myers ,for a limited part of time. Kinda sleepy ,and nowhere near as good as the aforementioned bands!

BYRON LEE & THE DRAGONAIRES - Dance The Ska

From the year I was born ,1964 ,comes one of my favorite ska albums of all time,hands down! Byron and the boys played the World's Fair in '64 also,and tried to introduce the new music known as "ska" ,to American audiences.One of the earliest practitioners of the genre,which was still in it's infancy when this was recorded. An album for the ages,every self-respecting ska band should be covering songs from this disc. If you haven't heard this,you'll never know what you've been missing! Grade A+ ska ,to the max!
