NOISEKILLR - Make Your Own NOISEKILLR - NOISEKILLR 40,MVMT 84

Yeah anyone can do it.....make your own NOISEKILLR!!! Now,its hard making a new release every day for a whole year, but here I am doing it! And you can too! If you have time,of which I have nothing but!! I do have my daily chores and duties around the house, and to my family, and whatever free time I have, which sometimes is very minimal,I experiment with sounds ,noise, and whatever I decide to use as instruments that day.Everything is an instrument,as long as you play it correctly. So quit reading this, listen to this release for instruction, and then let it rip!! Fuck pre-conception and deliberateness,it should be totally improvisational, you should never know whats going to happen when you push the record button,it should be "1-2-3-GO!!" style, don't think, just do!!   https://noisekillr1.bandcamp.com/album/noisekillr-make-your-own-noisekillr-noisekillr-40-mvmt-84

SLUGGISHA TAPES 35TH ANNIVERSARY!!! 35 YEARS AGO,SLUGGISHA BEGAN!!

Yes,it all happened 35 years ago, around this time, and right off the top here,I would like to tell all of you,SLUGGISHA TAPES will be celebrating FOR A FULL YEAR!, until next year's 36th anniversary, with lots of new releases and bands,re uploads, and fresh uploads ,including all media formats,print,video,audio......never yet exposed online, ever, anywhere!! Also an all new volume #15 of SLUGGISHA'S XMASTRAVAGANZA,( https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61580120092040 ),  for the 2025 season!! (also here is the Xmastravaganza bandcamp page with tons of the best xmas music you never heard!!  (  https://sluggishasxmastravaganza.bandcamp.com/music ) Next year ,2026 ,will also be a banner year for NOISEKILLR , Sluggisha's longest running project, which started up raising a ruckus ,back in the good ol days of 1986, NOISEKILLR  will be 40 years old, starting out 4 years before the launch of Sluggisha as a label, which was created to showcase my bands and projects, and that of my friends, here in the USA ,and abroad! NOISEKILLR has been waiting for 2026,to unleash one new release ,every day for the entire year!! Many sessions are already recorded, art is done,(and some has been shown on the NOISEKILLR facebook page ,.....  (  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61570273493831  why not join today?? ) ,and he is ready to rip out a ton more, video, audio, dreams, and art! WGOD ,my music podcast, which started out as a series of mixtapes around the time of Sluggisha's launch ,as a place to hear Sluggisha bands, and punk, metal, and other styles of modern music, and eventually my buddy,Doug Shannon,a dj at a local oldies station, gave me a small transmitter,to broadcast pirate radio music shows in my local area over the airwaves! He even made me a couple dozen drops and liners ,intros and outros, for my little diy radio staton,WGOD!! I continued making new shows into the 2000s ,and lately my younger son has been telling me I need to get the podcast going for real, and bringing the people music they wont hear anywhere else!  ( many shows can be found online, youtube, and other outlets!!) There have been so many chapters in the Sluggisha timeline,it's as if seasons have changed multiple times, and I believe we are on an eventual course of the last winter season,( in like 25 years or so,hopefully!!!) ,But I will march thru thick fog til death ,on every front!! In the beginning ,the catalog ,(yes ,Sluggisha Tapes, started out as a mail order cassette tape catalog, serving the world!) ,consisted of new bands I had just started, along with a slew of releases culled from local bands, from the mid to late 1980's!Many bands, and friends passed thru the ranks of Sluggisha, some in bands, some doing art, some promoting shows, others just hanging out.So many things have changed through time, many rumors and lies have been perpetrated ,and foisted upon me and my little label that could.I can assure you, none of what you've heard about me,as far as bad things meant to slander me,are at all true.In these days, you must have proof, and there is none against me or any of my bands or my label. On a happier note, though,I remember the salad days ,(and the downtown Ft. Myers club,"Salad Days"), and fondly look back in amazement and wonder how I pulled it all off! When I listen back to any of my old recordings ,or anything on the Sluggisha label,I can pinpoint that moment when I first heard it,and/or recorded it,or wrote it,and every time I listen back,I am truly in disbelief,as to how great I was in my time, every song is a hit to me.Even the new stuff I been doing over the past 10 years ,sounds so great to me,I.m astonished that I did that,I made a great song,or a great piece of art.So many people have helped me and hindered me into some of my finest musical moments.Politics suck ,I lost so many friends over the past 10 years, some new friends ,but mostly old friends ,going back 20,30,even 40 years, over something so trivial and stupid. But this 35th anniversary ,will be a renewal,a cleansing,a fresh start for the label ,Sluggisha Tapes. I am trying to get my late cousin's bands unreleased 2nd LP from 1984 ,pressed and out there for everyone to experience for themselves,it is great ,in a limited pressingand you can pre-order a copy on 12 inch vinyl now!! ( https://sluggishatapes.bandcamp.com/album/erebus ) it will be Sluggisha's first ever record pressed ,(not including the split label 7 inch i put out in 2012,with WCFOOM Records) ,and hopefully the beginning of a new chapter in the Sluggisha catalog which will continue ,with more vinyl pressings in the future.a quick mention of Steven Reed ,who did the Sluggisha cat logo ,and much early artwork for the label, and I am using his art on the Secret Syde LP from 1984,since the original art was lost in a fire, although Ive heard 5 differing stories about who the artist was,and from people claiming to be the artist of the og art in 84.Steve allowed me to use a portion of his work from a much larger piece, for the cover art.Grey Meatballs,Sluggisha's in house artist, and one of my many aliases, did the coloring ang layout for the LP.I was writing a book about Sluggisha Tapes, but unfortunately my publisher, who asked me to write the book, went out of business during covid times.I may just write it right here onto this blog ,and print it one day when i feel ive covered everything! I mean ,just read the blog posts going back to 2008 on this here blog, and you can read about the history of the label, and the bands, and people who were around at different times. The links may be dead for most releases, but starting now ,I will be re-uploading every link,so it can all be heard again..... I have been posting a lot of video on my youtub ( https://youtube.com/@sluggisha?si=7CAmnFOlSmi7NWre ) It is also the 17th birthday of this blog, and Sluggisha's online presence! Between 1997 and the early 2000's ,I got married ,had 2 sons, and finally got back to making music and releasing it,re-awakening the beast!I did a few solo projects in the late 90's into the early 2000's,and eventually started this blog and began uploading all the Sluggisha Tapes catalog ! also started the Sluggisha Tapes youtube page around the same time and began uploading videos, but I have so much more to share, many bands, many shows spanning mostly early to mid 1990s local Ft Myers Florida bands, which is where Sluggisha Tapes and I lived until 1997.Through the catalog, and tape trading ,I met amazing folks like Food Fortunata  a/k/a Dave ,from Wheelchair Full of Old Men Records, and in some bands like Sockeye,Fossil Fuel and hundreds more, much like myself! I was doing a solo band around the time I met Dave ,from our respective catalogs of mail order music, called ,Blood Red Oscars ,and I kinda related it to what Dave was doing with Sockeye, and when someone asked what kind of music this was,I replied ,Tardcore! ,usually getting laughs,or looks of terror...so we invented that genre and name, back in 1990.Also met Chachi on Acid from Canada, and they did a compilation release for Sluggisha, and later we did bands together,Rob Sproul and me,including the great ,Stinky Crucifix  ( https://sluggishatapes.bandcamp.com/album/stinky-crucifix  ) .Also of mention, another mailorder friend was Sean Lambert of Youre Not Normal Records, who was doing amazing things with a bedroom thrash/death sound!my friend Malcolm Tent of the great TPOS  records was an early friend, who is still doing great stuff, and playing bass in ANTISEEN  at the moment! James von Springspinnen has been a close confidant, and constant compiler of any Sluggisha news or music or blog postings! he saved this here blog, when all links were deleted,he had saved all the posts on data discs, and I have been re upping them, had it almost done a few times, and the clouds I was storing on would delete all links. I use only bandcamp and youtube now for storage and archive purposes, and I hope to be able to upload the complete Sluggisha Tapes legacy, before  I die. To leave a lasting reminder of a time that once was, which will never be again, times keep changing, technology keeps growing, and my little diy music label has been moving along thru so much history ,and ups and downs, tradgedies and health scares, births, deaths, and lives wasted.I have no beef with anyone out there, and if you know the real me,you know I am true, loyal, honest, good, and usually stoned. My only wish is for everyone from my past who knows me,get back in touch, and let's keep making music,I'm willing to forgive and forget, any past transgressions,of myself and others,to get past the bullshit, and get back to important stuff ,like making music....fuck politics, fuck lies, and fuck dishonesty ....what about peace, love, and understanding? War ,whats it good for? nothing...say it again! Sluggisha and Wheelchair have done 4 split release together over the years, and Food and I have done a band together ,Z.A.T.H. ( https://zath2.bandcamp.com/ ) for the past 15 years or so,in addition to some one off bands we did one or two songs for on compilations ,etc. ,and through Dave I met Jean-Luc of Thee Epileptic Dragonfly Records (T.E.D. for short),who release a Noisekillr cd and did art,as well as a Z.A.T.H.  cd and epcd, and I hope to continue my relationship with his great label! There are still many Sluggisha Tapes releases available for sale, some physical stuff is on the Sluggisha and Z.A.T.H. bandcamps, and I will make a new page soon for past releases,re-releases,and new product available. And anything you see on the blog ,I can probably upload for you,re up the link ,or produce a physical copy ,if that is your desire.I hope to meet new people to do music with,to release new bands on Sluggisha ,and to catch up with all my old friends. If I didnt mention you by name, pardon my idiocy,I am old,61,and I forget more stuff every day ,as new stuff fills the old shelves, and old stuff gets lost in the cranial caviar. After so many years, and doing so many genres and styles of music ,I still get amazed when I listen back to any of my work.I have to end it here, but there is so much more to tell! please join my blog, and all my other sites, and make Sluggisha a household name, where the music you'll hear nowhere else ,comes from! I probably left out 98 percent of the story, and I dont want to offend anyone, but Sluggisha comes from a place of no censors,no politcal correctness, and no borders...all is open to the world of Sluggisha, and Sluggisha is open to the world.stay tuned to this blog, and I will show you much more! thanks friends, fans, celebrity chums, and lovely ladies ,I love you all,and hope to hear from every one of you in the comments!! Thanks again, for 35 years!! (painting by Phillip Champlain ,also the crafter of the Sluggisha Cat Mascot

ONE FELL SWOOP - Crab Medicine

Ed, Joel ,and Chipmonk were joined by guitarist Billy Drake ,the pefect match to spar with Chipmonk's guitar wizardry. And spar they do! Some fine songs are enhanced by Billy's guest appearance ,harkening back to the glory days of the Cat Machine! There is a blow-out Stooges cover (Not Right) ,and it ends with a 12 second hardcore blast ,"Epcot Police State" In between all that though ,you have ace alt-rock ,indie -punk songs ,that the band was always known for. "Minturn ,We Hardly Knew Ye" ,pokes joking fun at Minty ,an older guy musician we knew ,who was arrested for some crap. Maybe a carry-over from Cat Machine's ,"I Hate Vacuums" , the song ,"Ukeleles Suck" is a one-minute blistering blast of anger at the stringed instrument. A few that Joel sings on ,"Lips Of Gods" and "Move Up" ,are true underground alt-pop gems."Born Again Maniac" ,has a tune that will stick in your brain sideways ,like a rotting fish lodged in a dead bear's craw, and will stay with you for days. Don't remind me!

ONE FELL SWOOP - Hector Koriyama

The greatest unknown, underground ,diy ,indie-punk ,alt-rock ,experimental band ever! Don't know where the album title came from ,but there is a short piece ,"Namesake" ,which toys with the album title. There is a positively insane cover of the Beatles ,"Revolution #9" with a brief interpolation of Led Zeppelin's "D'yer Maker" ,which will drive you mad! "Slum Sermon" ,is exactly that ,a preaching on the horrors of poverty. There are more songs ,too ,that only OFS could have written! Special guest (a throwback to the Cat Machine days!) was Sean Sommers, who sings on some numbers ,and may even have played some instruments!Good shit as usual from the power-core trio ,from Ft. Myers ,Florida.

ONE FELL SWOOP - Songs By Slobs

There are covers of The Cars and Alvin Lee's Love ,on this outing! The songs have a cohesive bluesy feel ,laid on top of indie-punk ,alt-rock foundations. Some really fine experimental arrangements ,and furious drumming on our home made drum kit!Recorded 12/10/1991 at Cat Machine House ,20 years ago today! Ed,Joel,& Chipmonk thank all of you ,for downloading ,and enjoying their bedroom punk music ,college rock ,to be sure. They only wish for more comments ,and thank those who have commented! A few days after this we formed the band "Stimpy" ,a noisy jazz combo ,which can be found elsewheres on this blog. fuk u h8rs!

ONE FELL SWOOP - Lackadaisical

the 25th (!!?!!) album by the underground's greatest unknown band! There are some fun ,short songs ,strewn throughout ,"Spam-Bo-Ree" is 45 seconds long ,"Theme From Snail Man" , 15 seconds ,"Barbed Wire Guitars" ,18 seconds and there's even "Lunch With The Centurions" ,a 27 second piece of coversation. "I'm Not A Schmuck" ,another song that landed on the band's live set list ,appears here in it's original form. "This Is A New Experience" ,features answering machine messages ,set to cacaphonous music. And there's lot's more! This is an experimental album ,with alt-rock/indie-punk songs ,stringing it together.Ft. Myers ,Fl ,recorded at the Cat Machine House on 12/7/1991. The original session for these tracks was on 12/5/1991 ,but that recording was lost or destroyed ,forcing a full re-recording of the entire album!

ONE FELL SWOOP - Two Cannonball Dinner

Rounding out the "balls" trilogy today ,we have an album from 12/3/1991 ,from the underground losers ,One Fell Swoop. This is the pinnacle of albums dedicated to the downtrodden ,homeless, drunk ,junkie ,loser ,in all of us. Even the song titles spell it out. I did notice that all 9 songs are titled with three word phrases. Starting off with an almost 13 minute instrumental jam ,"We Haven't Smoked" , (although it does sound like we did ,in fact ,smoke!) ,and a sound that will knock your drunk ass to the couch ,so's you can listen and enjoy the rest."Real Hobo Smell" ,a tale of being a bum ,a tramp ,a hobo ,"Cough Syrup Summer" ,cuz it's a cheap buzz , "Burned Out Believers" ,for the beat-down by religion losers ,"Geez , Naw , Thud" ,a dreamer's soliloquy ,also include in the live set list of the band ,"Pot So Smart" ,for the pot heads who can't get jobs because of piss tests , "The Wheezing Monument" ,for the elderly who don't wanna go into a home ,or have their car taken away ,"Frozen Hamburger Shower" ,for the junk food we must eat to survive ,and ending off with ,"Rubber Dollar Bill" ,for everyone who's ever been fast-talked or scammed! The music is cohesive with a bluesy bent.As always ,we switch vocal/drum/guitar duties frequently. Really great band ,with another winner of an album about losers!

ONE FELL SWOOP - Dogs With Rat Suits On

We titled this album after viewing the B-movie stinker ,"The Killer Shrews" ,and noted that the "shrews" ,were merely dogs ,dressed in rat get-ups! The music is pretty consistent on this one ,with a cohesive sound and feel. I don't recall if I ever mentioned this ,but we were based around a 2 guitar sound ,never used a bass guitar , but als o utilized the pizza pan /drum -rim ,typewriter case drum kit ,and the keyboards ,and drum machine ,as well as other instruments from time to time . But the no bass thing ,kinda came out of the fact that none of us had a bass ,and we liked sounding like the Electric Eels!Oddly-titled songs ,sit nicely next to more traditionally titled tunes. My favorite moment here is Joel doing his best Jonathan Richman impersonation (Chipmonk and I play The Modern Lovers!) ,on the original song ,"I'm Shot , I'm Shot" ,which sounds like an out-take of one of the Modern Lovers more ballady ,love-song type of deals! "7 To A Box No Corners" is a funny tale of drunk driving ,and the last song ,"Fellers" , is a stoned-out , chillin' instrumental. So there! Our 23rd(!!) release ,from Nov. 30th ,1991.

ONE FELL SWOOP - Widgets

A baker's dozen (that's 13 ,for all you non-bakers) ,of hits ,verging on being the most downtrodden sounding bunch of blues songs ,you may ever hear. Right off the top ,Gramps is bitchin' ,as we go into ,"The Shithead I've Got To Be" ,my life story.Another one that ended up on the live set list ,"Pain In My Dreams" ,is here in it's original version. Some of my personal favorites are here, once again , written by listening on the other side of the house ,thru several walls ,trying to dechiper guys like ,John Lee Hooker,Lightnin' Hopkins,Leadbelly,Blind Lemon Jefferson ,and what they were saying."Wait On Bolos" , "I Treated You Wrong" , and "Mean Spider Evil" (the last few seconds of which ,gave us the album title!) ,are some of the finest blues-rock ,alt punk songs ever written! Chipmonk went totally bonkers on here ,on all his songs ,he is funny as hell! "Fo' What Munchin' " ,"Bristly Bag O' Yogurt Bones" , "Crowded Tower Toppled Boat" , and a cover of Gary Numan's hit ,"Cars" ,all get the Chipmonk treatment ,and it is great! The final track is one of my all-time favorite OFS songs , "Pretty Shaggy Laundry" ,it's comedy/blues/punk ,which I could barely sing ,as I was in a riotous (and righteous) laughing fit!
Really good songs ,and music, and as we continue ,it just gets better and better! One of the best tapes in their catalog! Recorded November 19,1991 ,Twenty years ago today!

KAAGOOTAABAA - Black Lougies

John's newest release, harkens back to the band's early days;ie ,lo-fi ,bedroom recordings. There is a short (they're all relatively short ,bar the last cut, at a length 4:45 ,the longest here of 7 tracks) stand-up comic routine, and more of that early sound. And lots of samples ,from Chucky movies ,and other weirdness ,are prevalent for half of the recording.Keep pumpin' 'em out ,buddy!

ONE FELL SWOOP - Prepare My Dome

With a Chipmonk lookalike on the cover, and more of the downtrodden ,blues sound ,that they were playing at the time, this is another winner! One from the set-list is here ,Chipmonks
's moment ,"Out The Way" ,kind of has a Sonic Youthy feel to it. "Ringing Water" starts it off and some of my favorite tunes follow ,(tho this thing is not to be missed),"Gun And You" ,and "Tired Of Self". The most surreal and "One of these things just don't belong" moments on here ,is the last track ,"Dirt Throwing Crowd Screaming Nazi" ,a joyous sing-a-long ,that you will be singing along to ,whether you want to or not ,as it will become imbedded in your brain-meat.Also an appearance by Gramps on , "Do They Sell Dirty Blankets At The Store?" ,for comic relief. Recorded 11/16/1991.

ONE FELL SWOOP - She-Ass

Some of the best songs we ever did are on this tape! The blues influence really sets in on this one. With tunes like ,"Cut Me In Again" , "Wallet Baby" , "Crazy Women Lie" , and the #1 hit , "Red Letter Day" , amongst others, we truly hit our stride.I wrote these by playing old blues tapes ,and hearing them on the other side of the house, thru several walls, trying to decipher the old bluesman's words. One dozen soon-to-be classics of the alt-rock persuasion ,and the end piece freak-out ,"Life To Our Enemies" ,is a sonic blowout! I couldn't decide on the cover art ,so you get 2! Enjoy!

SLUGGISHA #1000 - THE 1000TH BLOG POST!!!!!

This is the 1000th post on this blog! Sluggisha Tapes started as an afterthought ,in 1990. There were local Ft. Myers ,FL bands in the mid to late 80's ,that started the Sluggisha asthetic. When Cat Machine ,and before them ,Myopia ,began their reign of underground terror ,the decision was made to start a mail order cassette label. We ("we" being myself,Joel and Tony Rizzo,Billy Drake,Shane Carwile ,Chipmonk, and others from our contingent) ,were recording so much ,and had so many spin-off bands going on all the time ,that we knew people had to hear it!The orders slowly trickled in (I met Food Fortunata around this point(a friend to this day) ,(who was doing the same thing as us),thru mail ordering cassettes from his vast catalog, and then I realized there were others like us,many, many, others!) ,I ran ads in Maximum Rock 'N Roll and Flipside ,and we flyered the town ,each time we had a gig.Cat Machine only played out live twice ,neither time were we recorded.Myopia played a whole mess of gigs ,and later One Fell Swoop had a residency as the house band (we broke open downtown ,for all the bands that followed) ,at The Draft House ,on Dean St. Even further down the road ,Sexboy took up residence there, and brought lots of out of town bands in to play with them.We had Salad Days (later to become reborn as The Indigo Room) ,and The Main St. Coffee House ,and Samskull moved his store ,Offbeat Records ,to the Patio DeLeon! We had local zines ,Rodent Cake ,Psychotic Episode ,Mad Asshole Digest ,and tons more ,many of which are ,or will eventually be ,posted at my other blog , Mediachrist.blogspot.com .We were young ,and drunk ,and having fun.Eventually in the late 90's ,I had to move away ,and the scene crumbled away.A few years ago ,I started the blog ,because I knew all my bandmates would wanna hear the old stuff ,and I was the only one who had the tapes ,so I began to chronicle our days as the kings of the underground scene ,in our small ,shitty ,town. This compilation has many unreleased tracks, live tracks, demos, unreleased ,and soon to be released ,and/or posted. There are 122 bands/songs ,almost 6 hours of fun! I unfortunately could not include every single band or artist on the label ,but I did a good job I think ,along with suggestions from friends and followers. This goes out to Gary and Rick at the Draft House , Cindy at The Coffee House ,Ralph at the Record Trader ,and all the fans and friends and bands ,and all the people we lost to death, jail, marriage, and long distance moves. We started out in the old days ,now everything is on the web ,these kids today got it easy ! Three zips in one file ,spans rock n roll ,punk , diy,alt-rock,indie,tardcore ,noise ,and just good 'ol music .The first pic above was the original logo ,as drawn by Steve Reed (I added the Sluggisha Presents ,and #1000). The one below it is the latest ,and it's on a t-shirt! Get yours today for $10 postage paid!!

ONE FELL SWOOP - Pee-Yew !

This is the 999th post on this blog!Recorded on 11/9/1991 ,another 10 slabs of sonic college rock sounds! Some real weird moments here ,especially on , "And Up And Down And" ,and "Doe Sto No" ,amongst others. Some of the titles allude to what we were up to ,"Ozone Paper" and"Slathery Slatherer" ,should clue you in. Zone out and get in the zone ,if that makes sense!

ONE FELL SWOOP - Total Odgena

A concept album about a kid,(pictured above), from Anywhere U.S.A., traveling to Seattle ,to become a grunge star ,after seeing Nirvana's ,"Smells Like Teen Spirit" ,on MTV. Much like Husker Du's conceptual double LP ,"Zen Arcade" , each song takes you thru a different part of the kid's journey. I'll give you the play-by-play ,because this story is so cool!
1.A Good Question - the album starts off with this instrumental ,the kid asking himself if fleeing to Seattle is a good idea.
2.The Incorrect Time - the perils of traveling into another time zone ,east to west.
3.Egypt Silt Went Goo - the crappy ,rainy conditions in Seattle ,do nothing to preserve valuables
4.Ask Northwest Dio - the kid comes upon a street dweller ,a homeless Dio-looking character ,who he asks about the local music scene.
5.Missing Women - the kid learns of The Green River Killer's exploits.
6.Socially Correct? - The kid questions if the grunge scene is too PC for his tastes.
7.If 6 Was 9 (Jimi Hendrix) - the evironment has changed his mind-set,and the kid writes an original song ,starts a little band, and plays out live.
8.Today Your Love,Tomorrow The World (Ramones) - the kid and his band , Total Odgena ,become overnight stars
9.Teenage Head (The Flamin' Groovies) - The basic autobiography of the kid ,up till now.
10.Chirping Psycho-Babble - the kid meets and dates a crazy grunge groupie, and has to listen to her bitching ,whining ,moaning, and complaining.
11.American Woman (The Guess Who) - The kid meets some canadians ,who have crossed the border ,also to find fame ,but find the scene and the annoying grunge girls ,too much for them to deal with , and they persuade the kid into dumping his squawky big bird girlfriend.
12.Smells Like Beans Near It - the kid becomes quickly disillusioned with the scene ,after a review of his song ,and the whole grunge scene ,is scathingly reviewed in a local music rag.
13.Fresca Chase - the kid gathers up his few belongings ,and with his last few dollars ,buys a cheap bottle of booze ,to drown his memories.
14.Colombus Was A Nazi - "America is facist"! ,thinks the kid to himself ,wondering why he can't get accepted into the social norms.
15.The World For Ransom - grunge music takes over the pop and metal charts ,leaving people scratching their heads in disbelief.
16.La Comparsa - the kid compares his life before and after grunge music ,in this re-hash of the Candy Butcher's tune ,"Crummy Turkey"
17.Sweater Heads - people the world over are blinded by the hype of grunge ,every band thinks they will move to Seattle and be stars.
18.Forget Stride - the kid realizes that this music scene ,really has no leg to stand on ,as more bands are signed to major labels ,and many videos are put into heavy rotation on the video networks.
19.A Good Answer - closing out with another instrumental ,and the reality of heading back to where he came from , and how lame an idea it was to even come out here ,to become a junkie/rock star ,like his idols.

Total Odgena means "bad heartburn" ,by the way . Pass the TUMS! This is kinda based on the true story of friends of ours from Ft. Myers ,who fled to Seattle to try and be scenesters ,and launch their bands. They all came back home ,eventually. Which is the basic message of this album , you'll always end up back where you first started. One of the best and most cohesive OFS albums up till this point ,with great tunes ,awesome lyrics and vocals ,weird samples in between some songs ,and the whole conceptual story line. Our live set list sometimes included the Hendrix and Groovies songs. Recorded 20 years ago today! 11/5/1991

ONE FELL SWOOP - Split The Cap

The title and picture reflect the goings-on at this time period in OFS's existence. There are 5 songs to start off ,all of a pop-song length ,including,"Grimy Reefer" ,an extension of The Candy Butchers song "Crummy Turkey"(on the next album we did,"La Comparsa" ,in the same style). That is followed up by a lengthy (over 14 minutes!) covers medley , which was too long to list on the mp3 file ,so here is that list:
The Rapper (THE JAGGERZ) , Stairway (LED ZEP) , I Can See For Miles (THE WHO) , Hold On Loosely (38 SPECIAL) ,Wishing Well (BEACH BOYS/CHICAGO) ,Honey Don't(CARL PERKINS), Wang Dang Sweet Poontang(THE NUGE) ,American Ruse(MC5),The Lemon Song(LED ZEP) ,Werewolves Of London (WARREN ZEVON) ,Bob O'Reilly(THE WHO) ,No Feelings(SEX PISTOLS),Cocaine(ERIC CLAPTON)/Sushine Of Your Love(CREAM) !!! The whole thing ends with an over 13 minute spazz-fest ,"Better On The Arteries" , and you should hear this whole thing! It's a gas! Recorded November 2nd,1991 ,20 years ago today!

ONE FELL SWOOP - We Dare You!

Recorded Halloween night (between 11 pm and 2 am) , at least the first 2 tracks ,the third track(recorded November 2nd ,1991) completes this tape with an over 33 minute experimental freakout ,with plenty of TV ,titled ,"Setting Standards" ,which was what we were aiming to do. Hash oil was a factor in this recording! And you can hear it! Later on that day we recorded yet another tape! Under the oil influenced . This is some flat-out trippy stuff. This recording and the one directly below this ,"Rollback Timeholes" ,would make a perfect desert island tape! You can seriously listen to this everyday! I do!
