Featuring Richard Lloyd (no,not that one!) and Barbara Carrera (no,not that one!) ,another new wave band outta Miami ,FL 1985.The Cars,Tom Petty,& Richard Hell ,come to mind while listening to this. Real cheesy new wave music and lyrics and vocals ,this is the shit! Included in the zip file ,is a flyer from my band ,Buzz Workshop ,and we used this band's pictures ,as our own! Ha ha!Another group of cuban/latinos ,cutting out their piece of the American dream. Power-pop for the masses! Pre-saging the use of the word "alternative" ,as it related to music ,and a premonition of the cover of the first Suede album ,with 2 androgynous faces.

ONE FELL SWOOP - Songs By Slobs

There are covers of The Cars and Alvin Lee's Love ,on this outing!The songs have a cohesive bluesy feel ,laid on top of indie-punk ,alt-rock foundations.Some really fine experimental arrangements ,and furious drumming on our home made drum kit!Recorded 12/10/1991 at Cat Machine House ,20 years ago today! seventh tape in the series,this one dispenses with most of the old records ,and recruits a few new ones.kiss,the cars,surf punks,and breakdance,all get time,along with a few more newbies.the psycho trance subliminal brainwash effect,evident in all uncut's work,is present as ever,here.mantras of broken record madness.some really cool tracks here.i'm still waiting on some hip-hop rappers to use some of uncut's samples.i think it would be a groundbreaking act,who ever does it first will be a star!
