THE DICK PANTHERS - Eternal Biological Conflict

My new pals , The Dick Panthers ,sent in some discs to post! I'll start here ,they all stick to the same basic sound, with enough interesting diversions in music and vocals ,to make you wanna hear it again and again! First off, most of the subject matter has to do with religion and /or masturbation, the music is well-recorded ,and obviously played by folks ,that are too talented to be playing tardcore , but this is great stuff, nonetheless! They had tracks on the ,"WC500" comp ,from Wheelchair , as well as the more recent ,"Fart Filet" compilation. Imagine ,if you will , Elvis, Jimi , James Brown , The Residents, Negativland (the last 2 they channel ,effortlessly ,on the last 2 tracks ,a skit ,and a noise/sampler number) ,any drunken country singer, and Jesus , if they started a band. Now ,download this ,as well as the other discs ,and you will hear what I mean! From Brookline ,MA

FRED WESLEY & THE J.B.'S - Doing It To Death b/w Everybody Got Soul

Fred,a member of James Brown's bands (as well as Ike and Tina Turner's band, and more),goes solo here,(sounding like the godfather of soul, himself)with a few James penned tunes.Side A does it for me ,as the title implies what I am trying to achieve in life.Side B is almost a continuation of side A. Pretty dang funky!

CAT MACHINE -Ironic Tutu

The boys 22nd release, recorded on 2/2/1991,hence the title. Some of Chipmonk's best numbers are here, including,"Mall Cop", "Hell On Toast", "Tuff Luck Charlie",and "My Job Lifting Mops".Special guest was Don,who sings in his normal mongoloidal voice on ,"Fart Sucker".Other highlights are a few visits from Gramps,Christy and Zolon, and a few little short humorous pieces, scattered throughout.Chipmonk's guitar work here is astounding, even college-rock on songs like,"Come Live In Theory",and "We Hold These Truths".Tony goes wild on,"Time Loses From Earth/Fuck Head Dad" as does Joel on ,"Not No God".And Ed J. sings funny stuff like,"Under Ogle The Rafters", and "Stinky Bike Sacrifice".James Brown is even idolized on,"Dustin' With J.B.",about his troubles with the law,PCP,and car chases.A really good session, don't miss it!!
