Weedian is a website composed in 2016. Named for a classic line in Dopesmoker by Sleep and eliciting the catchphrase of "Slow Riffs Bong Hits", Weedian is a news page that shares tour dates and

anniversaries of various bands in the world of stoner and doom. Along with news the page often shares humorous memes related to bands in that circle, often in relation to Sleep or their associated acts. Weedian would also compose a YouTube channel in February 2020, sharing rarities in stoner and doom.
Weedian released more than 15 Trip compilations series in 2021 via bandcamp and youtube reached to more than 1 Million Views!!!!
                    

An old boss of mine once told me they hired me because “the laziest people often find the easiest ways

to do things”, and though I never picked him up on the irony of trying to pass a common adage off as his own wisdom whilst slyly hinting that I was liable to cut corners, I nevertheless took it as a compliment. A touch of laziness can be a virtue. It can help you prioritise, it can keep you from being stressed and it can occasionally help in creative endeavours.
                        

After all, there’s no one lazier than a stoner (that is, if we’re to assume all stoners are exactly as depicted in films) and yet stoner metal is one of the most long-lasting and reliable genres going. On

paper the genre thrives off the hallmarks of being lazy. Riffs are repeated, the tempos are sluggish. Where punk told the world that anyone could be a musician, just play fast and with aggression to cover the mistakes, stoner rock and doom told us that anyone could be a musician, just tune low and play slow to let the spaces breath. No one takes this mantra quite as seriously as bona fide legends of the genre, Sleep.
                 

Sleep is an American stoner/doom metal band from San Jose, California. Guitarist Matt Pike and

bassist and vocalist Al Cisneros have been the only constant members throughout the band's history. Critic Eduardo Rivadavia describes them as "perhaps the ultimate stoner rock band" and notes they exerted a strong influence on metal in the 1990s.
                     

Matt Pike: "Weedian was started because I love music and most especially underground music. I wanted a way to be able to find and share cool bands with people who had the same taste in music that I do.

"So after a lot of thinking and some talking, I’ve decided to make a compilation of songs from some of my favorite bands, and Blues Funeral Recordings was cool enough to partner up with me to help bring it to you.

Nightstalker: Stoner Allucinations

 

Raw Rock-n-Roll simplicity, stunning riffs, and electric haze; this is Nightstalker. Nightstalker, the

preeminent godfathers of Greek hard rock music scene, boast a 30-year legacy adorned in heavy riffs, hazy smoke, and raw psychedelia.
                    

Don’t try to label Nightstalker, it only makes them mad. Over the years they’ve been saddled with every

label under the sun. In the 90’s it was grunge… Then it was Stoner Rock… And never try to call them a ‘Greek Rock act’ either. They play Rock music, plain and simple, and have been doing so to rave reviews for the past three decades.
             

In a world full of bands that fracture at the first hint of a bad review, Nightstalker are a powerhouse that

after 8 releases and over 500 worldwide shows, continue to stand at the forefront of the European hard-rock scene.
                   

Formed in Greece in late 1989 by singer (and at the time drummer) Argy, and made truly stable with

the addition of bassist Andreas in 1992, Nightstalker managed to meld their heavy rock influences with funky rhythms and grungy melodies to create a whole new beast. With all these elements in place they released their first EP in 1994 entitled ‘Side FX’, followed by their first full length album ‘Use’ in 1996, which established the band with their own trademark brand of dark heavy sounds.
               

The band managed to combine the raw rock 'n roll simplicity with heavy riffs and hazy, psychedelic

tunes. After some releases in several compilations (Toxic Babes in a Rock 'n Roll Land, Divin'), the band became well known after the release of the first EP, SideFX (1994), and the first album Use (1996).
                  

2000 saw a slight shuffle in membership as well as a new EP ‘The Ritual’, which found Nightstalker

treading further into the realms of deepest, darkestPsychedelia. As Nightstalker welcomed new member Tolis, the ensuing 2004 album ‘Just a Burn’ and 2009’s ‘Superfreak’ solidified the band as local and highly respected heroes throughout Greece, as well as garnering and solidifying a loyal international fanbase, as they led the way in signature rock n’roll chaos.
                 

From the Balkans to the UK, Nightstalker continued to focus solely on their music and the fans,

bringing their rock-n-roll circus of a live show to the stage across countless nationwide and European tours, plus Festival appearances at the likes of Freak Valley, Stoned From The Underground, Rockwave, Heavy By The Sea and Street Mode, as well as sharing stages with Ramones, Uriah Heep and many other legendary artists.
               

The most recent of Nightstalker’s 3-decade conquest has seen the band turn things up a notch, with the

release of albums ‘Dead Rock Commandos’ in 2012, ‘As Above, So Below’ in 2016, and most recently ‘Great Hallucinations’ in 2019. And while the worldwide pandemic doesn’t currently allow, Nightstalker look forward to getting back on road to continue touring extensively; a medium that since day one has been at the forefront of Nightstalker’s musical language, a celebration of all things loud.

With their second full-length release "Just a Burn", the Greek stoner veterans of Nightstalker manage to

deliver a very consistent collection of songs which are certainly of high-grade quality and contain some of the key elements of any great stoner rock/metal album - HEAVY, memorable riffs, spacey atmospheric sections, rumbling bass, and an overall groove (not in a Pantera way) that just pulls all the instruments together, ensuring in the process that each song is imbued with that hazy goodness impossible to find outside of the stoner realm.
