Brundarkh, the cinematic melodic death metal project known for weaving dark fantasy and extreme metal into immersive soundscapes, returns with their latest single “One With The Machine” — out August 29, 2025.

Produced by founding member Heino Brand alongside Caleb Bingham (Nightmare Sound Studios), the track marks a brutal evolution in Brundarkh’s sound. Mixed by Bingham and mastered by the legendary Thomas “Plec” Johansson (The Panic Room), “One With The Machine” dives into a cold, mechanized future where flesh and steel become indistinguishable — a far cry from the medieval darkness of their Tolkien-inspired past.

Following the critically praised Haunted Worlds EP and their epic full-length Those Born Of Fire And Shadow , Brundarkh’s new material steers into dystopian realms while maintaining their signature melodic aggression. Inspired by bands like Mors Principium Est , Children of Bodom , and early In Flames , the single balances symphonic flourishes with razor-sharp riffing and evocative atmosphere.

Though rooted in fantasy, Brundarkh is not confined by it. “One With The Machine” is a thematic shift — a glimpse into future releases that explore a broader spectrum of myth, fear, and imagination.

Formed in late 2020 by South African multi-instrumentalist Heino Brand , Brundarkh quickly gained attention with the debut single Wraith Dominion , featuring a guest solo by Jori Haukio of Mors Principium Est. Collaborating with Caleb Bingham (ex-Attika 7, ex-Zephaniah), the duo released Haunted Worlds in 2021 — a dark and layered EP steeped in gothic lore. Their full-length album Those Born Of Fire And Shadow followed, delving into tales from Tolkien’s The Silmarillion and featuring guests from Wolfheart , Before The Dawn , and Eternal Tears Of Sorrow .

Now, with “One With The Machine” , Brundarkh signals a new arc in their ever-evolving narrative — one that promises even darker, more dynamic storytelling through sound.

Brundarkh is a melodic death metal project inspired by dark fantasy stories and founded in late 2020 by Heino Brand. Shortly after he was joined by Caleb Bingham and they released their first single Wraith Dominion. The tracks Tower Of Blood and Bells Of The Drowned explored the stories of Elizabeth Bathory and the video game Diablo IV. Their new album Those Born Of Fire And Shadow is inspired by places and characters from Tolkien's literary work, "The Silmarillion". The album features guest artists from Wolfheart, Before The Dawn, Dawn of Solace, Mors Principium Est, and Eternal Tears Of Sorrow. The music blends melodic death metal, black metal, doom metal, and symphonic metal. It is sure to be a dark and dreadfully dangerous journey through Middle-Earth.

Frontman Jessy Switchblade shares that ‘My Sweet Apocalypse’ was “originally written by me in 2004, after a rather decadent weekend. I had Rammstein’s ‘Mutter’ as well as Metallica’s ‘Fade To Black’ on repeat. It is a song about imprisonment and the Stockholm Syndrome. I used the Gothic temptress as personification, as I have always enjoyed writing about mysterious Lilith type of figure, however the song can be about anything from substance abuse, straight through to being in love with an abusive, narcissistic partner. It highlights the agony and ecstasy of being gripped by the throes of obsession and addiction, whilst not being able to escape its clutches. It is most probably our most ambitious song to date, and definitely our longest. We debated for ages whether to release it as a single or not, however we felt that this quite possibly could be our magnum opus. so we thought we’d be bold and brazen to release it as the 3rd single from our upcoming ‘Vitriol Inc’ album.”

Diverted Disorder is rising from the ashes of our previous band Destroyed By Fate after the band broke up in 2013. The band's image and message (we’re not meant to win) is similar to that of Destroyed By Fate, but the style is different, Destroyed by fate was Deathcore and more aggressive where Diverted Disorder is  more melodic Metalcore featuring those aggressive deathcore vocals every now and then.
