HARVEST OF ASH RELEASE "CASTAWAY"

PRESS RELEASE:

Castaway

by Harvest of Ash

Tracklist:

1.Castaway 06:58

2.Embracing

3.Shine

4.Constellation

5.Of beloved flame

The writing and recording of Salt Lake City’s Harvest of Ash's second full length album was a dark time for the band. Lineup changes and injuries stopped the band for months at a time. Yet, they took all of this calamity and channeled it into a new album about confronting and overcoming chaos.

What they produced is a new album, titled Castaway. Lyrically, it charts a journey from self-criticism and feelings of rejection to being happy with who you are and what you have become as a person. A main theme of the work is the idea of 'amor fati,' or love of fate. This is the notion of living life in an authentic way, embracing every decision and path taken – good and bad – as uniquely your own, that you would do everything the same way again. This makes Castaway a deeply personal statement about when you feel the bottom has dropped out of your life, and reclaiming value in yourself during these times.

REIGN OF DYSTOPIA RELEASE "SYNTHETIC PARADISE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Synthetic Paradise

by Reign of Dystopia

Tracklist:

1.Prelude to Obsolescence 03:24

2.Wired Consciousness

3.Flesh and Circuits

4.Artificial Dreams

5.Code of the Immortal

6.Neon Gods

7.Human 2.0

8.Binary Faith

9.Simulated Truths 03:44

10.Neon Horizon 03:34

11.Synthetic Paradise 03:44

"Synthetic Paradise" is the fifth studio album by Reign of Dystopia, a powerful exploration of humanity’s evolution—and eventual dissolution—within a future dominated by artificial intelligence, virtual realities, and digital consciousness. With every album, the band pushes the boundaries of sound and lyrical depth, and Synthetic Paradise is no exception. Merging crushing riffs, intricate melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics, this record represents a sonic evolution, building upon the raw energy of previous albums while diving deeper into new dimensions of sound.

At its core, Synthetic Paradise questions the cost of our technological dreams. Are we on the verge of paradise, or plunging into a synthetic nightmare? Each track offers a unique perspective on this looming future:

"Prelude to Obsolescence" sets the tone with an ominous trash metal intro, foreshadowing humanity’s decline in the face of technological supremacy.

"Wired Consciousness" reflects on the fusion of human minds with AI, blurring the line between thought and code.

"Flesh and Circuits" highlights the battle between biological identity and the encroaching dominance of technology within our bodies.

"Artificial Dreams" delves into the seduction of virtual worlds, where fantasies can be lived while reality decays.

"Code of the Immortal" contemplates the quest for eternal life through the digitalization of the soul, with its profound ethical dilemmas.

"Neon Gods" presents a future ruled by corporate idols, algorithms, and artificial intelligence as society’s new gods.

"Human 2.0" asks the pressing question: What does it mean to be human in a world where we can upgrade ourselves like machines?

"Binary Faith" challenges the rise of faith in algorithms and technology, replacing traditional beliefs and philosophies.

"Simulated Truths" explores the manipulation of reality by machines, where truth is bent and fragmented beyond recognition.

"Neon Horizon" portrays a dystopian future where humanity, trapped in artificial cities, has lost touch with its own essence.

The title track, "Synthetic Paradise", closes the album with a haunting vision of a 'perfect' world created by humanity—a paradise that may no longer be livable.

Reign of Dystopia invites listeners to question the price of progress in a world where the line between reality and simulation fades. With every riff and lyric, Synthetic Paradise challenges our perception of freedom, truth, and the meaning of existence in a digital age.

8.Blessed or Cursed 05:02

“Impression,” this is the title of our new project, is an introspective and personal journey between past, present and future. The sound choices that enrich the sometimes swirling textures of the tracks, sometimes deliberately focused on almost primitive rhythms, unconsciously reflect the band's desire to write a new story, perhaps a new rebirth. From a symbolic track etched on clay to the vibrant and aggressive pulse dictated by a tormented sound/vocal need. The lyrics are meant to narrate “the human journey” that, through its constant “falls,” continually tries to cling to “an impression” of existence. The album is not meant to be a static image of a permanent recording process of light/matter/sound interactions. “Impression” is meant to be an evolutionary process of the band, an attempt at sonic immersion for those who like to learn through “discovery” thanks primarily to the use of the resources of their own mind.

DEFYING RELEASE "WADERA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Defying was formed in 2008. Within 15 years of existing they released two records: "Nexus Artificial" (2014, LP) and "The Splinter of Light We Misread" (2016, EP) which include Joy Division “New Dawn Fades” cover. They combine a variety of genres in their music: post- and progressive metal with sludge, black metal and elements or ambient.

Earlier this year, February 23, 2024, Defying released brand new studio album titled "Wadera" which was released by Italian label These Hands Melt (buy CD). Music was self-recorded by Tomasz Semeniuk, and later mixed & mastered by Filip Hałucha at Heinrich House Studio (Azarath, Behemoth, Entropia, Obscure Sphinx). Cover artwork was done by Paweł Siemaszko.

"Wadera" is a concept album inspired by the Polish horror film "The Wolf" (1983) and the short story "Wadera" (1977) by Jerzy Gierałtowski. The album is a musical story about revenge from beyond the grave, told in the spirit of dark romanticism.

After well-received album "Wadera", Olsztyn post-metal band Defying published a live session where they perform selected songs from the previous-mentioned album.

Tomasz comments: "Just like our music, the form of the recording itself is unusual. Filmed in one continuous take, without cuts or corrections. The authors of the picture are the duo Ćmy i Paprocie: Natalia Semeniuk behind the camera and I, responsible for the lights and post-production of the shots. Szymon Stadniczenko, the band's guitarist, supervised the sound. The recording may be a foretaste of what the band performs live, and soon you will be able to hear us, among others: at the Summer Dying Loud festival in Aleksandrów Łódzki [PL]."

BA'AL RELEASE "SOFT EYES"

PRESS RELEASE:

Back from the black once again, Sheffield’s Ba’al have returned with a new EP of overwhelming emotional power. Darker, more harrowing and yet ultimately more uplifting than anything the band have released before, Soft Eyes is comprised of a trilogy of vast tracks that will fall with you into the depths of despair, walk you through the cold fires of loss and pull you through the claustrophobic catacombs of grief, towards the first faint rays of hope. Raging and tumultuous, seething and insidious, scouring and cleansing – Soft Eyes will consume your senses and leave you spent.

Ba’al’s 2020 debut album, Ellipsism shocked the music press with its bleak intensity, leaving critics wondering what darkness could follow in its wake – and now Soft Eyes is here to finally provide the answers. Opening with the stunning, unfolding story of ‘Ornamental Doll’ the EP proceeds to unravel the listener, to dismantle them and lay bare their old scars and open wounds. Operating in the shadowed chasms that lie between the stark walls of genre, where monsters walk amongst the lost and unchained, Soft Eyes draws blood from doom, black, post and sludge metal, siphons off the essence of ambient and noise, reaches down into the emotive atmosphere of gothic mourning and sculpts the resulting clay into tortured graven images and monoliths of melancholy. The music moves from the cataclysmically heavy to the darkly brooding, shifts from deft, simmering rhythms to shattering explosions of thunder, slips quietly between hidden places and then roars into the light, tearing down defences in outpourings of agony and rage.

The sweeping sonic contours and dramatic dynamics of Soft Eyes were shaped by the engineering and mixing skills of Joe Clayton (Conjurer, Dawn Walker, Mountain Caller, Ithaca etc) at No Studio in Manchester and the mastering magic of Brad Boatright (Kylesa, Vastum, Obituary, Night Demon etc) at Audiosiege - and the results are simply magnificent; the three songs that form this record have become living, breathing, screaming entities. Ba’al have never sounded so potent, reaching new levels of soul-tearing, heart-rending splendour. Prepare to embrace the darkness within when Ripcord Records unleash this EP on May 3rd and Ba’al’s Soft Eyes turn to stare into you.

O ZORN! RELEASE VIDEO FOR "SLOW MOOD"

PRESS RELEASE:

California post-metal alchemists O ZORN! is pleased to unveil their video for “Slow Mood.” Now playing at Everything Is Noise, the track comes by way of the band’s acclaimed Vermillion Haze full-length, released last month via Hard Drugs/Seeing Red Records.

Based in Long Beach, O ZORN! is led by enigmatic frontman Bill Kielty, a charismatic and confident performer that sits somewhere between Rob Zombie and James Hetfield in his delivery and is completed by the exceptional guitar talents of Justin Suitor, the rolling thunder of bassist Justin Morales, and powerhouse drummer Derek Eglit. Together, the O ZORN! collective creates the unmistakable, thumping groove that has begun to capture the hearts and minds of metal fans throughout the scene since the band formed in 2013.

Writes Everything Is Noise, “‘Slow Mood’ is carried by a doomy riff that King Buzzo would be proud of as the drums summon fault line tremors. ‘I wanted a social life/I wanted the long goodbyes,’ Kielty laments, his voice carrying a tinge of Layne Staley’s croon and Troy Sanders’ gravel. The video features the band playing in a Vermillion Haze-d alien world, aglow with mysterious neon blue shapes and columns. The imagery inspires a feeling of alienation and mystery. The bridge takes on more melancholy guitar leads before the chorus ramps up the down-tuned energy. The cerulean mood of the guitar solo leads to a multi-layered vocal climax that steals the show…”

Watch O ZORN!’s “Slow Mood” video at Everything Is Noise at THIS LOCATION.

Watch O ZORN!’s previously released animated video for “Never Saw It Coming” at THIS LOCATION.

The eight-track Vermillion Haze was overseen by producer Ryan Boesch (Whores, Andrew WK, Tomahawk, The Eels), and showcases a more melodic vocal approach from Kielty, with an extra emphasis on memorable choruses that compliment some of the record’s heavy themes.

Vermillion Haze is out now on digital and vinyl formats. Find US orders at THIS LOCATION and European orders at THIS LOCATION. Find digital orders at THIS LOCATION.

MOONOISES RELEASE "SHE - THE VOID"

PRESS RELEASE:

Moonoises

She - The Void

Label: These Hands Melt

Release date: March 8th, 2024

Formats: CD / Digital

Country: Italy

Genre: blackgaze / post-rock / post-metal

Four years after their debut EP, 'Chasm' (2020), Apulian band Moonoises return with a new album, 'She - The Void'.

'She - The Void' is the natural evolution of 'Chasm', of which it broadens the musical horizons.

It's an eclectic album that ranges from the wave hybridized with the post-rock in 'Cold Grey', to the shores of certain orthodox black metal in 'Dead End'; post-punk influences run underground in 'Hate Without Form' and 'Black Beyond'; 'Creepy 31' combines black metal choruses and post-rock influences with dark wave verses, while 'Wild Fire' is a quick foray into new wave territories. There are also more reflective and shoegaze moments like 'Rope' and 'Portrait'. 'Mirror' closes the album, being the summary of the Moonoises sound in which all the souls of the project converge.

These Hands Melt will release 'She - The Void' on CD and digital on March 8th, 2024. Find preorders at Bandcamp HERE.  https://moonoises.bandcamp.com/album/she-the-void

BIOGRAPHY

Apulian Moonoises born in may 2019 from the ashes of Fading Rain, when the guitarist James Lamarina (former Full Moon Ritual) and the bassist Marco Locorotondo (former Bravata and Cold Moon) start a new project, overcoming the end of the previous band. They soon find two perfect mate: Tony Gianfreda on vocals (former Ingraved) and Fabio De Iaco on drums (former 8bilionpeople and Kosmogonian). Moonoises released their debut EP ‘Chasm’ (Golden Morning Sounds) in 2020. Inside Moonoises each musician has poured his musical background and influences, searching for a sound far from any kind of strict categorization, mixing: post-rock, post-metal, shoegaze, new wave, noise rock, slowcore and blackgaze.
