FUOCO FATUO RELEASE "BACKWATER & OBSIDIAN KATABASIS" BOXED SET

Sentient Ruin is proud to announce their partnership with Italian blackened funeral/death-doom Behemoths Fuoco Fatuo via the release of “Backwater & Obsidian Katabasis”, an exclusive limited edition casette tape boxset of the band’s two most recent full-length albums: 2017's "Backwater" and the recent 2021 third album "Obsidian Katabasis", both issued on LP/Cd/digital formats by Profound Lore Records. With this exclusively crafted release officially licensed from Profound Lore both albums finally see the light for the first time ever on cassette format.

“Backwater & Obsidian Katabasis” is available now limited to 200 units worldwide, and comes as a black matte cardboard box flooded black inside with band logo and title hot foil stamped on the lid, and SR emblem hot foil stamped on the bottom. Cassettes inside come in clear cases with full-color j-cards, metallic ink shell prints, and download cards.

Italy’s Fuoco Fatuo are an elusive entity in European extreme metal, creators of an aphotic and otherworldly strain of hallucinatory and ultra-suffocating funeral doom that has few equals around. Over the last few years both of these pachydermic albums have set a new standard of extremism and opened the gates to a completely unexplored realm of heaviness and sonic oppression that has established Fuoco Fatuo as one of the most cataclysmic and inhumanly crushing bands to have emerged in the European extreme metal underground in recent years.

NIDEN DIV. 187 RE-RELEASE "IMPERGIUM / TOWARDS JUDGEMENT" AS 2 LP BOX SET

Cult Swedish black metal act NIDEN DIV. 187, featuring current and former members of DAWN, VANHELGD, A CANOROUS QUINTET, RETALIATION, KING OF ASGARD and THY PRIMORDIAL, conspires with Dawnbreed Records and De:Nihil Records to release the highly anticipated vinyl boxset edition of “Impergium / Towards Judgement” on May 21st 2021.

The Black Metal cauldron of the mid 1990s ultimately spawned a myriad of hordes all over the globe conveying the gospel of Darkness and Evil from and to the utmost subterranean spheres. Like in every scenery, a plethora of emulators saturate the Underground. Although a trained eye, ear and spirit eventually knows how to separate the virtuous from the disposable, treasures eventually end up being obfuscated.

A proper representative of such notion is Swedish entity NIDEN DIV. 187. A side-project of members from such distinctive names such as DAWN, A CANOROUS QUINTET and THY PRIMORDIAL, the group hatched two releases through Necropolis Records in the gleam of 90s before vanishing completely.

Right from the very first moments of 1996's "Towards Judgment", one gets dragged into a landscape of dangerous and unapologetically virulent Black Metal. A grim sharp sound conceals fast belligerent riffs, slashes of six-string mania carved as rusty but merciless daggers. An incisive slaughtering drum performance purveys the almost military pulse to these four tracks while pure hate is expelled on a nefarious inhuman vocal performance.

All such elements are exalted into an even greater level of hostility and command of both songwriting and atmosphere on the band's debut album and grand opus. Entitled "Impergium", NIDEN DIV. 187 blasts its way into total warfare yet spreading its disease with an assorted diversity, whether by slower more atmospheric moments or slightly melodic yet abyssal riffing. This full-length exposes the band on a darker and more sinister path than ever, supremely evoking a ghastly aura of dread and suffocating blackness via ominous instrumental pieces intervening within deranged blast-beating bashing, a hateful and menacing army of guitar riffs and a carnage of deathlike wails and screams. "Impergium" never loses its momentum, but furthers its apocalyptic omen into a fearful canvas where Death and Blood remain triumphant.

Proudly released by Dawnbreed Records and De:Nihil Records on a luxurious 2xLP box, behold an ode to and from the dark past, an essential and glorious proclamation of genuine Black Metal mastery!

MISERTUS RELEASE DAYDREAM / COIL / OUTLAND TRILOGY BOX SET

We are here to announce the first ever release in physical format of MISERTUS' post black metal masterpieces Daydream, Coil and Outland...

With the walls of sadness and desperation closing in around us, our limbs heavy in the chains of loss, there can seem no escape from the locked room of our isolation and its deep, consuming shadows. Yet we are always no more than a step away from a doorway to a world of light and possibility. Hope and devastation within touching distance of each other. The small, golden key to this doorway lies hidden in the labyrinth of our mind – a place where ghosts of pain and minotaurs of shame hunt for blood and the tattered remains of past promises cry piteously, while reaching out with jagged, broken claws, desperate for company in misery. But beyond it all is the key...and the door...and dreams beyond despair.

Over the course of one year, 2019, the man behind the shroud that is MISERTUS, Tomas, poured out his conflicts and his agonies, his dreams and redemptions and the battlegrounds and common grounds that lie amidst them all, in three glorious, tumultuous, visionary albums. Daydream, Coil and Outland each possess their own characters and stories, their own sounds and textures, but they are inextricably linked, undeniably born from the same post black metal flame. Daydream brings us the hooks, the spaces, the light and shade of ‘Fragility’, the brittle fury of ‘Waterfalls’...and ‘Outward’, like standing in a rainfall of broken dreams, their shards tumbling from the heavens. Coil opens in an uplifting, shimmering sunrise over snow capped mountains, with ice in the air. Beautiful, natural melodies flow over underlying currents of melancholy, a juxtaposition of hope and sadness forming perfect harmonies, magical counterpoints. The gentle peace of ‘Pause’ a beautiful moment when the howling banshee voice is silent, left screaming within the heart of the maelstrom. With Outland we dive wholly into the world of dreams, our mind and soul laid bare, all our triumphs and adversities captured in the swelling of sound, the glorious thunder and power of ‘Blue Spirits’ and the intensely emotional, transforming finale of ‘Aether (A Distant Ember)’. Together these stunning albums are more than the sum of their parts. Together is how they always should have been. Together is how they are.

Never before available in any physical format, Onism Productions have made Daydream, Coil and Outland one; in a matte finish, eight panel, three CD digi-pack. Including for the first time the three poems which were adapted to create the lyrics of this trilogy, this is the ultimate representation of Misertus’ year of supreme creativity. Overpowering yet intimate, celebratory yet heart rending, this is the music of the universe, the sound of wishes and anguish entwined.

XASTHUR RELEASES "THE MORIBUND CULT YEARS" BOX SET

After Malefic decided to stop the black metal band known as XASTHUR in 2010 we were left wanting more and there were interesting releases like the "Wooden Box" box set from 2018 or the historic "1997-1999 Rehearsal" album. Now, here we have this release (it will be out on June 26th) that features the two 2004 albums "Telepathic with the Deceased" and "To Violate the Oblivious" along with the 2006 EP "Xasthur".
