Spanish black metal quintet Fatal Portrait presents An Elusive Instinct for Lascivia Redvx, a complete reworking of their 2001 album, scheduled for release on 24 October 2025 via Black Lion Records on CD and digital formats. This album marks their return from hibernation and their first offering in two decades.

Fatal Portrait is a black metal band formed in Santander (Cantabria) in 1998. Their sound, from the beginning, has been defined from the outset by a combination of aggression, technical structure, and an ever-present melodic component, influenced by the Scandinavian school of the ‘90s.

During their initial phase, the band left a notable mark on the Spanish and European underground circuit. Following several demos, they released their first EP, Rapture Among the Idols (1999), through Arte de Occulta, followed by An Elusive Instinct of Lascivia (2001) on Downfall Records (Sweden). The latter was well received by specialized media and consolidated the band’s identity. In 2006, they released Adventum via More Hate Productions (Russia), with a more direct approach and without keyboards, before entering a long slumber.

Nearly two decades later, Fatal Portrait returns with An Elusive Instinct for Lascivia Redvx, a release that not only revisits their past but reconstructs it from a new artistic and sonic perspective. All the tracks have been reinterpreted with new arrangements, greater rhythmic and dynamic depth, and a contemporary production approach that preserves the original dark atmosphere but reinforces its emotional and narrative impact. This version offers more solid structures, a more versatile vocal performance, and an instrumental execution that emphasizes the melodic intention without losing its power. It is a work that consciously distances itself from nostalgia to offer a new, mature interpretation, faithful to the band’s spirit.

The visuals have been developed with the same level of rigor: The cover art was created by renowned artist Joan Llopis Doménech, who has captured the lyrical and aesthetic concept of the album in a dense image, full of symbolism and darkness.

The new logo, designed by Christophe Spzajel (Arkham Studio, France), provides a renewed visual identity, respecting the classic spirit of black metal but with a modern and restrained approach.

REDSHARK RELEASE "SUDDEN IMPACT"

REDSHARK was founded in 2012 in Barcelona - Spain, by Philip Graves (guitar) with the aim of delivering Classic Pounding Heavy Speed Metal. Their traditional 80s metal influences may plunder the nostalgia circuit but REDSHARK are ruthlessly carrying the torch with great attitude, and powerful melodic songwriting.

The band had their full line up fixed in 2013 with Javier Bono on 2nd guitar, Mark Striker on drums, Chris Carrest on bass, and Pau Correas on vocals. Their debut official release "Evil Realm" ep came out in 2019 and showed the band pushing the velocity further. Those intense five songs drew a roaring response and helped to spread REDSHARK name nationwide and abroad.

REDSHARK have since honed their gloriously raw yet precisely incisive, dark, catchy and addictive speed heavy metal crunch staying faithful to their original influences taken from undisputed metal legends like Judas Priest, Savatage, Exciter and Metal Church.

The band's albums front cover concepts look entertaining with their comic book type of artworks depicting a mad red human shark on a killing spree. It also represents the band's out for blood impulse in churning out those hard hitting riffs and also refers to their energetic live performances. That redshark is obviously the band's mascot.

After the very well-received album Digital Race, the Catalonian Heavy/Speed Metal band returns stronger than ever with a major step forward in their journey: the explosive new full-length album Sudden Impact.

Unbounded Terror were one of the very first bands to emerge from the nascent Spanish death metal scene, back at the dawn of the ‘90s. Now, more than three decades later they are poised to unleash their fourth and unquestionably finest full length album. Featuring an array of decaying death metal monsters, each touched with the incomparable magic of Unbounded Terror, Something Is Rotten In Humanity is a towering achievement from these pioneers of the extreme. A pall of dark atmosphere descends with the opening chords of Something Is Rotten In Humanity’s fierce and unnerving first track. ‘Fear Of Dying’ tears out of the tomb, resplendent in its unholy putrefaction, armed with chainsaw guitar riffs and choking on grave dirt. That atmosphere of shades and shadows never lifts as song after flesh ripping song emerges from the night. Incredible solos blaze like funeral pyres, otherworldly melodies playing out across the smoke-filled skies as the strange magic of Unbounded Terror takes the classic elements of old school death metal and subtly subverts them into grotesque, god forsaken forms. First single, ‘Reviving’, is a masterpiece of ancient, primal aggression, while ‘Demons In Your Mind’ captures that perfect, wicked alchemy of addictive riffs, bewitching aura and lead work that lifts everything to the next level. Crushing, unstoppable, gory and glorious, Something Is Rotten In Humanity is everything that a death metal album should be.

Belonging to the first Spanish black metal wave, and to the Catalan movement known as Blackcelona, Blazemth are survivors of their time who continue to pay homage to the purest and most traditional black metal. Now Volkhaar and company present Gehenna, a new album that will be released on December 23 on CD, LP and digital thanks to the Negra Nit label.

Recorded and mixed by Eloi Boucherie (Vidres A La Sang, White Stones) at his Farm Of Sounds studio, the mastering has been done by another monster, Gerard Porqueres at Heartwork Recording. The result is an organic and deep work that hits you with all the sincerity of their primordial black metal, an album that perfectly takes over from the also bloody The Return Of Lucifer (2022).

With a cover and artwork by Manda, Gehenna is eclectic without departing from the strictest black metal, presenting melodies that can remind you of Sweden or thrashing outbursts that relate it to Absu. Besides, this beast shows several peculiarities... For example, the intro of the first song, ‘Enok’, is written by Búfal (ReDimoni, Drakum, ex-Ktulu or Asgard) and sung in Serbian, while the second part of ‘Nifelheim’ also leaves English aside to use Norwegian.

As if that wasn't enough, ‘To The Valley’ is a new and absolute reinterpretation of their classic ‘To The Valley Of Wind's Master’, a track from their seminal EP For Centuries Left Behind (1995).

This Christmas will be blasphemous, because Blazemth will plunge us into the Reign of Shadows with a great album that lives up to their legacy.

In 2019, Spanish progressive/melodic death metal band Eternal Storm released their debut full length 'Come the Tide, which was a shockingly accomplished, poignant and evocative album which many still regard to be one of the highlights in the style. Four years later, after working meticulously to hone their sound even more, they return having fulfilled a seemingly impossible task - to come up with a worthy follow up album, one that doesn’t betray the sound nor dilute it. On 'A Giant Bound to Fall', shattering the apprehensions, they've actually taken the sound further ahead; it's far more nuanced, multifaceted and even feels darker. The emotions are just as palpable as before but are rawer, more piercing, and the heightened extreme parts are not at the expense of their immersive atmospheric ones. The painstaking recording process ensured that and for the sound to remain organic and tangible. It's a giant step ahead in the logical direction, for them, for the entire style. There is little doubt that this hugely ambitious and more importantly still passionate and heartfelt album will go down as another towering landmark in the genre. With music so pristine, it becomes a salve for the soul.

After almost ten years, we are back with a renewed spirit; to let those of you who still might like Karlahan to see what has been the journey for us in the shadows.

We have composed a lot of music since we started back in 2006, but you have witnessed only the main songs. We want to show, at least, something about how A portrait of Life evolved into Exile and how Exile will evolve into Vacancy. So this EP is the starting point, from here on, we will release music chronollogically from our birth in 2006 up until 2015, when we started composing Vacancy.

We have always wanted to self release our music, but we were always reluctant because our results were not as good as we wanted. Well, nowadays we can, at least, release music that can be listened to, although we are not there yet, we stil have a long, long way ahead until we can match the sound quality of Exile. For some time, this detail stopped us, but not anymore, we might have a long way ahead, but this time we will share our walk, even if the results are not optimal.

To those of you who still listen to us, please receive our gratitude, it is due to you that we have reborn, we hope that you like what you find in this new time of Karlahan!

After carving out a fierce reputation as death metal butchers playing alongside Avulsed, Wormed, Aposento, Necrophiliac, or Ataraxy, Andalusia’s Krypticy are ready to release The Non-Return, their second album.

Four years after Hideous Being, their debut full-length, the band from Málaga have put together a collection of sonic massacres that will make the eardrums of any fan of Autopsy, Benediction, Death, Atheist, Pestilence, Vomitory, or Suffocation tremble, thanks in part to a recording, mixing and mastering by Thor Nay at his Wave Nation Studio. With “human suffering as an inevitable destiny” as the main lyrical asset, Carla Leiva from Cardaver Art has been in charge of the striking cover artwork.

In their new opus, Krypticy make no attempt to disguise with which cards they play this bloody game. Classic, crushing, old school death metal, without forgetting the refined technique and breathtaking twists. Sharing members with Rebel Souls or Pachydermo Scato, we didn’t expect anything else. Let the heads roll!

Between psychopaths, murders and viscera, Krypticy pay homage to the usual death metal, as aggressive and raw as we discovered it too many years ago.
