Spanish black metal quintet Fatal Portrait presents An Elusive Instinct for Lascivia Redvx, a complete reworking of their 2001 album, scheduled for release on 24 October 2025 via Black Lion Records on CD and digital formats. This album marks their return from hibernation and their first offering in two decades.

Fatal Portrait is a black metal band formed in Santander (Cantabria) in 1998. Their sound, from the beginning, has been defined from the outset by a combination of aggression, technical structure, and an ever-present melodic component, influenced by the Scandinavian school of the ‘90s.

During their initial phase, the band left a notable mark on the Spanish and European underground circuit. Following several demos, they released their first EP, Rapture Among the Idols (1999), through Arte de Occulta, followed by An Elusive Instinct of Lascivia (2001) on Downfall Records (Sweden). The latter was well received by specialized media and consolidated the band’s identity. In 2006, they released Adventum via More Hate Productions (Russia), with a more direct approach and without keyboards, before entering a long slumber.

Nearly two decades later, Fatal Portrait returns with An Elusive Instinct for Lascivia Redvx, a release that not only revisits their past but reconstructs it from a new artistic and sonic perspective. All the tracks have been reinterpreted with new arrangements, greater rhythmic and dynamic depth, and a contemporary production approach that preserves the original dark atmosphere but reinforces its emotional and narrative impact. This version offers more solid structures, a more versatile vocal performance, and an instrumental execution that emphasizes the melodic intention without losing its power. It is a work that consciously distances itself from nostalgia to offer a new, mature interpretation, faithful to the band’s spirit.

The visuals have been developed with the same level of rigor: The cover art was created by renowned artist Joan Llopis Doménech, who has captured the lyrical and aesthetic concept of the album in a dense image, full of symbolism and darkness.

The new logo, designed by Christophe Spzajel (Arkham Studio, France), provides a renewed visual identity, respecting the classic spirit of black metal but with a modern and restrained approach.

The band’s most recent full length recording and tragically the last to feature the band’s late founding guitarist Michael Stewart, Dark Abstraction, was originally released in 2015 on CD by Polish label Hellthrasher Productions and LP by Swedish label Blood Harvest Records. A massive step forward in every way from the outfit’s well regarded if unpolished debut album, Dark Abstraction represented an energetic, riff-focused, and creative spin on the cavernous blackened death metal sound that was flooding the scene in copious amounts in the mid-2010’s. With eight varied and memorable tracks, a greatly improved production, and an ever-advancing sense of expression and craftsmanship from all instruments, this was the sound of a young band stepping out of their formative beginnings and emerging confidently as the established and respected outfit they are known as today.

Overview: OMICIDIO are the first incarnation of what would later become NIHILI LOCUS. It's 1989 and four very young musicians approach Metal and do it in an instinctive and violent way at the same time with a demo-tape of six songs that presents a very old-school Death Thrash Metal but that is already characterized by the dark magic that will be the trademark of the sound of NIHILI LOCUS.

Together with the new album "Semper", we will release the reissue of 1991 OMICIDIO demo-tape "Premature Exequie" on LP format.

The release has been completely re-mastered by Giuseppe "Buzz" Nicolò at Lost Soul Studio and feature a great cover created by the great Norwegian photographer Kjetil Karlsen. "Premature Exequie" is the definitive testimony of a primitive and obscure sound that has been able to create from these roots, the absolutely unique and uncompromising sound of NIHILI LOCUS.

NIHILI LOCUS, a name, a cult, the history of Italian Extreme Music.

NIHILI LOCUS, a name Doom and Black Metal fans are no strangers to.

They came from Turin area and were born from the band OMICIDIO, formed in 1989, with Massimo Currò (bs), Mauro Veronese (gt), Bruno Blasi (v) and Roberto Ripollino (dr). After the recordings of the demo "Premature Exequie" in 1991, the band change their name in NIHILI LOCUS and in 1992 Valeria De Benedictis (gt) joined the group who released quite soon the 7"EP "Sub Hyerosolima..." distributed by Obscure Plasma. In 1994 they released the concept tape "...Advesperascit..." which led them to have their first official contract with Boundless Recs, for the release of the MCD "...Ad Nihilum Recidunt Omnia" in 1996.

In the years to come the group's activity was very unstable, until 2009 when they found themselves in an essential formation with the original members Massimo Currò (bs), Mauro Veronese (gt), and Roberto Ripollino (dr). With this line-up, it was recorded "Mors" only available for free download online. In the following years, Terror From Hell released a collection of all the recordings up to 1996 on CD.

The last years was used by the band to the conception, creation and recordings of the new album "Semper", the release that will finally allow the band to reap the fruits of a career always characterized by a melancholic pathos embodied in a dark sonorous extremism.

"Semper", along with the reissue "Nihil Morte Certium" on vinyl, the reissue of OMICIDIO demo "Premature Exequie" on vinyl and the celebratory box "Ineffabilis Memoriae Regurgitatio", are scheduled for September 2025, all on My Kingdom Music

CADAVER : 'Hallucinating Anxiety ‘ 2025 reissue

CADAVER, one of Norway's first and most influential death metal bands, has carved a distinctive path through the annals of extreme music. Formed in 1988 in Fredrikstad by Anders Odden (guitar/vocals) and Ole Bjerkebakke (drums/vocals), the band emerged from the ashes of their earlier black metal project, Baphomet. About the Band:

UnderWill originated as a collaborative project among friends and, though they consider themselves a band, have never performed live. Recording for “The Inevitable End” began in October 2019, with instrumentals completed by March 2020. Due to the pandemic and personal delays, vocals were finished later, and the album finally released in October 2022. Despite minimal promotion, the album caught the attention of metal blogs and YouTube channels, inspiring the concept of a physical edition.

CADAVER ANNOUNCE REISSUES ON LISTENABLE RECORDS

CADAVER was formed in 1988 by Anders Odden and Ole Bjerkebakke. Their first full-length, 'Hallucinating Anxiety' (1990), was the first Norwegian death metal album. CADAVER  have had a rather turbulent history as they have disbanded and reunited on several occasions throughout the years.

Between 1999-2001 the group was also briefly known as Cadaver Inc. Founding member and primary songwriter Anders Odden is the only member that has been in band's all line-ups.

Listenable records will reissue the much sought after ’Necrosis’ album previously released on Candlelight in 2004 and also an obscure collection of unreleased recordings from 1992 under the title of ‘Hymns of Misanthropy’ showcasing CADAVER’s raw and non typical material that pushes the boundaries of what extreme music in all its original uncompromising authenticity . 

Those recordings were enhanced at Tomb studio Norway and remastered at Temple of Disharmony studio in Germany. 

Cover art is taken from ‘Christ in Limbo’ painting in oil on panel (1575), made by an unknown follower of Bosch.

The painting is owned by Martha Delzell Memorial Fund.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina's THE CLASSIC STRUGGLE has partnered with Skepsis Recordings to reissue their debut classic, Feel Like Hell on vinyl for the first time. Two variants, hand-picked by the band, are available for a limited time.

Originally released in August 2005 by Ironclad Recordings, this definitive vinyl edition breathes new life into the album. Featuring reimagined artwork while honoring the spirit of the original, the visual overhaul was led by the album’s original artist, Steven Weiler, in collaboration with Paul Granese of Cold Cuts LLC. Jamie King of Jamie King Audio (Between the Buried and Me) was enlisted to remix and remaster the vinyl and digital editions of the reissue.
