Formed in 1978 by four bored school friends (The Original Bored Teenagers), Xpress started in York and gigged around that area supporting the likes of 'Cyanide' & 'Sema 4'. They played support to some of the bigger bands when they visited their area like 'The Revillos', 'The Vibrators' and 'Generation X'. In 1980 they self-financed their debut and only release "Junked Up Judy" which was backed with another stage favourite "Stop, Start (And Go Back Again)". The band found themselves two years too late with music in general taking a swerve towards new wave and post punk with the dreaded synthesiser as its newest weapon of choice. Trying out as a new five piece Xpress eventually folded in 1984.
