Trash Monroe - Batesian Mimicry

Trash Monroe was formed in 2003, by vocalist Melany Dantes and Dave Bradbury. Since then the group has built up a solid reputation in England’s South East region as being "one of the better unsigned acts to emerge." Based on a strong ideal to write, perform and create from the heart and to mean it. The unwritten and even unspoken (until now) point of the band is to use a wide variety of ideas within a collective, to embrace it and enjoy the creative freedom that comes from ‘not being pigeon holed’. Labelling this band with a genre has never been easy, as each member draws individual influences and styles from many genres. It’s accepted that with this comes the uncertainty of finding a ‘niche market’ but this is something that should only be of concern to a band that is unsure of their direction.

The quintet from Essex have made a big impression with their sound which has been compared to the likes of Tool, HIM, as well as Skunk Anansie and Pat Benatar in reference to the powerful and impressive vocals of vocalist Melany Dantes, completed by guitarists Brad Hurr and Matt Rowe, bassist Ken Mortimer, and Dave Pankhurst on drums. Trash Monroe have lit up stages across the UK alongside the diverse likes of The Birthday Massacre, Raggedy Angry, Black Candy Store, and Undercover Slut. Heavily positive responses across the media have also followed them whether for their live shows or their previous release Ornament EP produced by John Fryer.
