Well, it’s Friday evening and here at Topless Towers it’s time to get your razzle on. This is the last electro Goth industrial oriented post (until the next one) for this week with a more mixed repertoire being arranged for next week. Nothing is set in stone as yet; much will depend on where I am or what I’m doing. However, getting back to the post in hand; while Conquer Your World doesn't exactly blow me away it's a thoroughly decent enough album with standard KMFDM style fare from the early nineties. You know what you're getting though, and you know it will be pretty good. Excessive Force is a musical side project started by Sascha Konietzko of KMFDM with whatshisface (Buzz McCoy) from My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult. In 1991, Excessive Force released the single "Conquer Your House", followed by the album Conquer Your World. After this release, Buzz McCoy had no further involvement in Excessive Force, which went on to become exclusively a KMFDM side project. It basically sounds exactly like any other KMFDM album so if you're into that then you're in good hands with what Excessive Force bring to the table - industrial dance music (that flirts with house music, even), featuring big old chugging guitars, distorted vocals and some really hypnotic, repetitive dance grooves. Get down and boogie!
