They're all the way from Melbourne, Australia and the
tracks on this, their debut album are basically the same song, catchy hooks,
dark atmosphere, lo-fi recording; definitely drawing from 80's post punk but it
is a great song. Infinite Void played a melodic brand of dark post-punk, female
vocals, and swirling 80's guitar riffs that impart a dreamy element with dance
beats. I'm not actually one to dance around but this album actually got me
moving, tapping my feet and strumming that eternal air guitar. The band's
aesthetic is borrowed from all the great 80's regulars, but not definitively
derivative of any one act. There’s nothing really substantial about the racket
that Infinite Void created, but for an opening salvo, Infinite Void is an
enjoyable listen.
