And again ...

This could be come a little bit of a habit - sharing creativity here on my blog ... once upon a time it was 'the norm', then it became somewhat infrequent and then just about non-existent ... but I'm ovbiously back ... long may it continue.

Time will tell.

49 and Market - I'm sure that you have heard of this company if you are a crafter ... they have found themselves just the niche and I know that they are a welcome addition to the crafting world, well especially in my part of the world.

In New Zealand, some of my crafting friends tend to go a little crazy around craft releases and I'm no different to them - the latest, the newest and the brightest just seems to find its way into my crafting stash.

I ooh and aah over my orders as they land on my door step ... Mr credit card probably claps in delight and then I shudder when I see my credit card bill ... it is what it is.

I learned a long time ago, it pays to get in ... if you over think putting in an order, it can be sold out in a flash.

And this card, well this card, I absolutely love, love, love the way it came together and it came together surprisingly quickly.  Cardstock, patterned papers, crafting fibres, muslin, blooms, pearls, foliage and I am in my happy space and happy place and if it happens to have a little purpliciousness, well I'm not complaining.

Happy crafting my friends.

Voila.

Butterflies, hearts and some purpliciousness

Here we go ... let me share another creation - a hinged card - this time though even though I used my favourite colour [again] ... this collection also incorporates the greens and whites.

I've used 49 and Market - ARToptions Viken collection - ooh la la ... creativity made easy and relatively painless - truly - it all just comes together, just like that [ and some] ...

I dug out a really old die that has been sitting wasting away and unused and it really brings this card alive, well I think so anyway and I can say that, cos it's my blog ...

A little stamping, a little die cutting, a little layering and voila ...

I really do like the way that this came together ...

Happy crafting my friends.

Until next time, I hope that you have been able to spend a little time for some creativity yourself.

It has to be good for you.  I know it is good for me.

And again ...

No posts for quite some time and let me see, a few in a week ... well how about we add to that number - just cos I can.

Let me share some more creativity.

A hinged tag card ... using the tag die from Couture Creations.

This  photo is the inside of my tag card.

Sharing a close up of the fron of my tag card and my embellishment cluster.

The back of my tag card ...

I even surprised myself and made an envelope to pop said hinged tag card into.

and the front of my hinged tag card ...

I've cut six layers using the tag die - two pieces of cardstock and four layers of different patterned papers from the Lavender Love collection from our friends at Couture Creations - made a hinge opening, joined them all together and voila - just like that.

All done and dusted.

Pretty purpliciousness.

Happy crafting my friends.

Until next time,

Explosion of colour

Hi everyone,

I'm back again - this time with an explosion of colour and in the form of an exploding box.

And again ... in its entirety.

My base is white cardstock 7.5" x 7.5" square - a whole lot of layering, a whole lot of adding a few bitsers, cos you know I love adding bitsers - a little layering - yep, I know, I aready said that ... but you can see that.  I love my pearls and I've got a wee thing for jigsaw pieces and hearts, throw in a little stamping, some ink, some crafting fibres, muslin and blooms and voila.

This exploding box was special to me and was gifted to someone very special in my life.

Happy crafting my friends

Until next time

Crikey ...

 At it again.

An easel card - I think that easel cards have their own 'wow' factor - they are elegant, a little bit special and can all look so totally different.

Colours, patterned papers, embellishments - we are all different in the way we think, the way we put together our creations and we are all so totally unique ... and you know what ... that's the way it should be.

Some of us use dies, we layer, we embellish, we add our bitsers and if you know me a little,
you know that I love to add bitsers to my creations.

I'm a lumpy, bumpy crafter.

and now ... sharing my easel card in its entirety ...

Papers from 49 and Market - ARToptions - Viken collection - I'm in my happy place and happy space with this colour palette.
Just saying.

Favourite colour

If you know me, even a little ... you will know what my favourite colour is ... just saying.

Do these photos give you just a little hint ...

You will also know that I don't tend to make many layouts these days.

Sometimes I surprise myself and they just fall into place, just like that.  Like this one did.

So here's me ... in a circular style layout and in my favourite colour.

They are few and far between, but they do happen from time to time.

This creation features the gorgeous Lavender Love collection from our friends at Couture Creations in Australia and my friends, this collection really does belong in your stash - just saying.

Happy crafting my friends.

I'm here ... honest ...

I'm here ... it's been a while ... but what I didn't know ... some of my blog posts have been going nowhere ... as in ... absolutely nowhere ... no idea why that is.

Technology gremlins perhaps ... not sure.

Here's a little purpliciousness - using the gorgeous Lavender Love collection from our friends at Couture Creations.

I dug out an old Sizzix die set - I think that we should challenge ourselves to use something old and buried in our stash that hasn't seen the light of day for quite some time.

We spend a shitload of money [read here, make an investment in craft supplies], use something and sometimes put them away or they get buried and they remain unused for far too long.

Time to change that.

Happy crafting my friends.

Until next time.

Just playing ...

Hi everyone,

Sometimes when we are in a creative mood, we just like to play - to be a little creative - sometimes with no set plan - we just play and see where our creativity takes us.

And this is what I have done making this card.

Let me share.

I've made a long skinny card using one of the Couture Creations new dies from the Deck the Halls collection - Santa's sleigh tall card nesting die set, ivory cardstock and a gold spotted paper.  I've used a sentiment from the new Homely Florals collection and used a foliage die from the celebrate sentiment cutting die set.

I've  run adhesive around the edge of my card and then rubbed in blue foil [mirror finish].

I've grabbed a sheet of plastic [used for binding purposes], my foliage die and cut out two pieces of foliage and some leaves and then I have used some alcohol inks - just to see how they would turn out.  A squeeze or two [for want of a better term] of Golden Age plum, lilac, burgundy, fuchsia, baby blue and khaki - I've let the colours dribble and I've dried with my heat gun and in turn, the plastic has dried and curled a little.  I love the way they turned out to be honest.

Look at that sheen.

I really like the effect on the plastic.

Throw in a little muslin [cheesecloth, a few crafting fibres,
some blooms and we are done.

And my card in its entirety.

Butterfly canvas

Hi everyone, I'm up on the Couture Creations blog today sharing a little creativity - now let me share my butterfly canvas with you all here on my own blog.

Canvas is a flat 4” square canvas.

Cut a 4” square from the adhesive sheet and adhere to canvas.

Cut two pieces of foil and randomly rub on and apply to the adhesive – using both finger tips for rubbing it on and the round finger tips edge of a pair of scissors – just like you apply rub-ons – just keep lifting the foil and rubbing here and there to apply – no design, just randomly rubbing.

Using clear gel tacky glue adhere a little rice paper just for texture.

Stamp small butterflies in each corner using the spread your wings butterfly outline stamps.

Paint the chipboard clock face and sprinkle a little sparkle dust for a little shine and then adhere using clear gel tacky glue.

Stamp the large butterfly image on transparency [or cut out the image on the stamp transparency set itself] and adhere to the clock face. Stamp another image of the butterfly – the slightly bigger one than the two smaller butterflies and stamp on transparency and cut out and adhere on top of the clock hands.

Add liquid drops to the clock face edge. Now you really do need to wait for them to dry – otherwise they go a little flat if you embellish your clock face – just moving your hands around adhering your bitsers on top to finish your canvas can flatten them.

Add some flowers and coils and tuck in a few crafting fibres – add to the mix a handmade flower using foamiran.

Finish off by adding a stamped sentiment, a little gesso, some art stones and a couple of sequins.
