Tag cards ...

Materials list : from the Turtle Dove Kaisercraft collection ... PP877 paper pad, PS229 To Froms, RS416 sparklets – rouge, mini alphas, Bark ink

Extras : cardstock, music paper, muslin, gesso, diamond dust, twine, dies

How quick and easy is this ... I’ve cut cardstock in the shape of a shipping tag and folded it in half.

I’ve used a die to cut out the Holly branch, used a little gesso and diamond dust and topped off my Holly branch with rouge sparklets as my berries.

One tag also has a Christmas tag attached to it from the To Froms sheet of tags.

The tag sheet has just made Christmas a whole lot easier thanks to Kaisercraft.

Voila, just like that ... my Christmas card stash is growing ...

Christmas mail

using a little Mint Twist ...

Step cards ... so easy to put together and using a little foam adhesive and some of the collectables from this collection - makes it a whole lot easier.

Best I get off this puta ... have a very important 'date' with my hairdresser ... the one that makes my day when she camouflages those nasty bleedin' greys that keep appearing at an alarming rate.

Christmas mail

have to say I love going out to the mail box in the lead up to Christmas [that's when I am home and the mail man has just been]

or

arriving home from work, to see the mail sitting on the bench ... waiting, just for me ...

love it even more when those special envelopes contain Christmas mail,

just for me

Here's a little Christmas mail that could be heading away in the mail, from my house to yours ...

Using a little Twig and Berry ...

Someone I know could see this one, up close and personal ...

or this one ...

or perhaps this one ...

Right then ...

Yep, I had another play ... and boy did I play with this layout ... a real pop of colour ... fun and funky colours and embellishments.

Look at you ...

If you have visited the Kaisercraft blog today you will have seen this layout ... but if you haven't, well you are seeing it now, for the first time.

Materials used : Turtle Dove Collection- P918 French Hen, P921 Calling Birds, P922 Geese, FL430 Wooden Flourishes – Bird Branch, Mini Alphas, Pearl Brad

Extras : baubles, muslin, paint, ink, diamond dust, distress crackle, flowers – pot luck from my big cookie jar/flower jar, leaves, punches, metal dies, hat pins, miscellaneous chipboard alphas

Even though I absolutely love Christmas and Turtle Dove is a Christmas range, I decided to play a little with the papers for my layout and not use them with photos associated with Christmas. I adore the way this layout turned out.

I decided to journal on the back of this layout. I don’t do this nearly as often as I should!

On the back it reads…

Look at you – all grown up.

I’ve called you my ‘wee man’ for so long now and I know that even though you are still my ‘wee man’ at 6’3”, you’re no longer my ‘wee man’. Does that make sense?
It does to me.

At 17½ you are all but a man, in the true sense of the word.

I’ve watched you grow, becoming more and more independent. You are just about ready for the big wide world, but remember, I said, just about. You’re not quite there yet.

The big wide world is just that – a big wide world. You’ve got so much ahead of you – so much to experience, so much to learn, but you don’t have to do it all now … slow down a little. Enjoy it all, but take your time. The world is your oyster. You are going places, we both know that. You are someone special.

And I just wanted you to know, it doesn’t matter how old you get, how big you grow, I want you to remember that you will always be ‘my wee man’.

I love you dearly … never; ever forget that and I’m so very proud of you.

So there you have it, a layout using a Christmas range and with photos that have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas!

Right then.

How about ...

... I share a layout ... seems like it has been forever since I have done that ... but let me tell you something, just quietly ... I've been busy creating these past few weeks.

I'm also on blog duties this week with the girls over the ditch at Kaisercraft - so pop on over there, well use your finger tips to click here and there, you know what I mean and check out the girls creativity.  Very 'noice' it is too ... just saying.

Anyway, let me share this layout ...  using the September monthly sketch with the girls at C'est Magnifique - well I played with their sketch, just cos and I used their monthly kit and what a gorgeous kit it is too.

Here's the sketch ... Nadia really does put together some amazing sketches.

Our September Sketch

I flipped the sketch, well actually I rotated it and here you go ...

I was flicking through a pile of photos and came across this one and thought, that will do me ... but wowser, looking at the colour of my hair in these photos is a bit of a shocker ... must have been about time to visit the lady that does the camouflage thing so well - lol.

Right then, best I move it.
Enjoy your week everyone.

It's not round ...

Well you all know that I have had a wee thing for 'round' for quite some time ...

and ... I've got  a wee thing for easel cards at the moment ... yeah right ...

but this time, I thought to myself, something a little bit different

...

ta da ...

yep, another easel card, but it isn't round ... just saying!

I've used the September monthly kit that Leslie puts together at C'est Magnifique ... and I was hopping here and there, as you do from time to time and one click leads you to another and before you know it, you are somewhere a long way away in cyber land.

The girls at Lollipop Crafts blog have a card challenge - to use two or more dies or punches ... and I so CAN do that ... ahem ... I may own one or two or fifty or a hundred ... but who's counting -certainly not moi!

And see those wee trinkets ... I snaffled a bag of them off Nic Howard ... OMG, they truly are beyond gorgeous ... downright divine ... just saying!

Right then, moving along ... must go and check the chook that is doing its thing in the oven.

Roast chicken, roast veges and whatever else might find its way into a pot is on the menu for dinner tonight and if I don't get off this puta, well it just won't be a happening thing.

Plan on a little more creativity as well ... time will tell.  You can always play with a little paper in between preparing veges ... it's called multi-tasking!!!!

Spring has sprung !

It's all in a word really SPRING!
Create a card depicting spring! (I think it's coming, although down south it still like winter!). Ideas to use - flowers, newborn animals, colours - yellow, spring bloosom pink's, vibrant green and lovely blue of the skies.

Well, that's what ScrapboxNZ would like you to do - yep, they've got a wee challenge on their blog ...

I thought to myself, I can do just that and so I did.

and yep, you guessed it ... another easel card ...

and I'm thinking, it looks nice and fresh and ...
well I just love the way that this one turned out.

Ta da !!!!!!!!

It's not too often these days that I get to play, just cos.

But I'm going to make time [somehow] to do just that.

Has to be good for me.

Ho Ho Ho ...

Merry Christmas ...

Loving the easel cards

Can you tell???

Hope you don't get annoyed with me sharing them ... cos I made a few yesterday ... ummmmmmmmmmmmm ... how about six of them ...

Can't show you a couple of them though, cos they are DT assignments.

Well, all will be revealed sooner, or later - just saying.

Tis the season ...

to be jolly ... fa la la la la la la la la

Don't shoot me down ... that time of the year will be here before you know it.

So I'm getting a little prepared [as you do] ...

Once upon a time I used to make round cards - lots of them.

Last night I grabbed my box of metal dies and my Cuttlebug and played.

First time I've played with something that turned out anything like this, but I'm loving the round thing all over again.

So you will be seeing a few more cards that might look a little bit like this one.

Have to use all those metal dies a whole lot more than I have been ... just saying.

I've used the Twig & Berry collection of papers and collectables from Kaisercraft on a base of Kraft cardstock.

You blink ... and it's gone ...

That's right ... it feels like I've just blinked and the last week has just disappeared, just like that.

Time stands still for no-one ... but wowser, it seems to be going extra fast of late.

I'm still around honest.

I've been creative, honest.

But nothing that I can share at the moment.

Just saying.

oh wowser ...

I was lying in bed last night thinking about all sorts of things ... as you do.

Wishing that sleep would take me away to noddy land and for whatever reason,
it was a long time in coming.

I was lying there thinking about all sorts of things, oops, already said that bit ...
but that's what you do when you can't sleep.

18 years ago I was in labour and I recall it as though it was just last week, honest!!!

Some things you just never, ever forget.

18 years ago a young man came into the world.

He was all arms and legs [still is ...].

Sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh ... don't tell him that I said that though.

Tonight, a certain young man blew out the candles on his cake.

[and yes in this photo, those candles are back to front ... cos I had just a few minutes before this photo was taken, taken photos looking at the cake from the front angle ... grrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhh!!! and not changed it around ... grrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhh again!!!!!

And  now in his school uniform, we have one young man on his 18th birthday.

A young man that we are so very proud of.

and I managed to get another few pics outside, admittedly not in the best light ... but I will take what I can, when I can, these days.

It just doesn't seem right does it, one photo in his school uniform and one photo in his 'duds' just before I dropped him off at the pub ... yep, it just doesn't seem right ... but that's all I will say on the subject.

Happy birthday young man.
Love you, but you know that.

Strawberries anyone ???

I did it ...

We have been talking about growing strawberries off and on the last couple of weeks at work.

Yesterday I took the plunge ...

Today I did what I was supposed to do with them.

Bonus really, they could have just sat and done exactly nothing and been thrown away.

But now I have this ...

OMG seriously ... have you read the back of the bag of the strawberry potting mix stuff ... don't do this and you have to do that ... wowser.

Don't inhale ... I didn't honest ... I was like a swimmer ... turning to the right and breathing ... honest.

Wear gloves ... yep, did that as well ... had to dig deep to find a pair of gardening gloves.

Can't remember what else ... but I did read the fine print.

A gardener I am not ... DH is the gardener and the one with green fingers in our household ... but I did this, all by myself.

Now come on sun ... I need some sun apparently ... I've got a wee flower on one of those wee strawberry plants ... come on ... I'm waiting.

CYA

P.S. how long do you think it will take before I get my first edible strawberry ???
