Shake, shake, shake

Shake, shake, shake ...

Sharing a shaker card.

and now a closer look ...

Now if you know me at all you will know that purple is my most favourite colour.

I was asked recently if I wanted to play with some sequins and to pick a couple of colours.

Ummmmmmmm ... no brainer ... that would be a purple selection.

And you guessed it ... I did just that ... I played with some purple sequins.

Personal opinion only, I think this card turned out fabulous teamed up with a little black and white and a splash of gold.

You can find this gorgeous mix of sequins right here.

It's been a while ...

It's been a while - life just really got in the way - definitely got in the way of being creative - my poor ol' head just hasn't been in the right head space.

But that has to change - it's not a nice feeling.

It's time for me to play a little in my craft room before I head back to work in the New Year.

I've got a heap of unfinished projects lying around.

But I've got lots of things to share over the coming days and weeks.

Promise.

Let's get started.

Here's a project that I finally finished and whilst I am normally absolutely rapt with the photos I take of my projects - the photos of this one - nope, can't say that at all.

I couldn't find my big white sheet when it came time to take photos - I searched high and low and couldn't find it anywhere.

Then, well then I remembered that I used it on the TV in the dining room so that I could cover our TV stand and at the moment there sits the fibre optic tree and my Santa and Snowmen parade.

Duh moi!!!!

So whilst the photos aren't as sharp as normal, they are here.

Might just have to rephotograph this one in the New Year.  Time will tell.

The tray itself is a wooden tray that was full of Prima resins.

It started off with that naked look.

It needed to be dressed shall we say.

I applied gesso and let it dry.

I have then used a selection of three different mists and a paintbrush to apply colour to the wooden frame tray.  When it was dry I then randomly applied gesso and then a little medium gel and dipped my finger tip into black spun sugar and randomly applied a little around the edges.

I've used Prima Rossibelle papers and flowers.

I've also used two really old Prima vines.

The main photo is annoying me now, big time - I'm thinking those Santas and Snowmen have to be packed away so that I can use my white sheet for new photos. - ROFLMAO.

Now you knew that you were going to see heaps of close up shots - cos that's the way that I roll.

My wee bottle has pink and white beads - it has a cork glued into the top - a double row of pearls glued on - the word love and then I have added a little gel and dabbed a little black spun sugar on the top of it - randomly applied it on my bottle.

So there you have it - a little creativity from me.

I actually have a Christmas tray very similar to this one that needs to be photographed - must do that.  It's now on the 'to do list'.

If you are having a few days off work this festive season, sure hope that you find a little time to be creative - a little 'you' time.

I plan on a little 'me time' tomorrow.

Happy creating everyone.

A special friend ...

On Friday night New Zealand time I wrote the following post on my Facebook page.

What's on my mind - I'm heartbroken.
Today the paper crafting world lost someone special.
Many lost a very special family member. ‘The child’ [said ever so affectionately] lost a wonderful Mom.
Our creative team lost both a mentor and a friend – we lost our Grand Unicorn.
Me, well I lost a special friend. Alda was more than one of those special online friends – unfortunately she was one of those friends that now I will never get to meet in real life. [if I could fast forward next August, I so would - honest].
This special friend had an amazing talent, she had so much to share, so much to offer others, she was so very generous and she gave so much of herself to so many. She was unique, and yes, she was definitely one of a kind.
It has been a privilege and an honour and I am proud to call you my friend.
Fly free Alda and spread your glittery pink dust wherever the path leads you.
Memories are forever
and forever we will cherish them
Big squishy hugs 'boss',
Me, the one at the bottom of the world

Watch out for her - she will be playing.
Well I sure hope that she finds the time for playing.

Earlier today I posted the following ...

Sometimes creating can be very soothing for the soul.
I was thinking about a very special woman whilst creating this card last night.
A special woman who inspired so many, and with love I will fondly remember a special friend, for now and for always.
Too dearly loved to be forgotten.
Rest in peace

Alda loved the colour pink and in my last box of goodies I received some gorgeous Prima Rossibelle papers together with some 13 Arts mists/sprays.

So you guessed it - definitely fitting to make a special card for a special friend.

With love ...

How about another one ...

Hi there and welcome back. Yep, I'm on a roll. I realised that I hadn't shared this layout - another one ... White, green and orang...
