Beautiful blooms and I thought that these were quite reasonably priced as well ... found in the Britomart building in downtown Auckland ... what a beautiful building.

Clean, spacious, nice and bright ... did I say clean ... cos it was!

Not like this week !

As much as I like the way Elizabeth Kartchner scraps [and I do], it's way different from the way I scrap and I'm struggling like you so wouldn't believe ... in fact, so much so, it just may not be a happening thing.

Time will tell.

A challenge is a major understatement.


Right then, not long home, time to have a squizz around the traps, enjoy my coffee and then I might, just might be a little creative ... might not either, just quietly!

Sometime though I have to clean and tidy a little in the kitchen, looks like a bomb site.

And in Devonport, they have the most yummiest, scrummiest bakery down a wee side street, no idea of the name of it ... but ooh-la-la ... I bought a divine pastry thing with custard and jam and icing ... and I scoffed the lot.

Pretty impressive

Yep, this landmark is just that ... pretty impressive !

No idea how many times we saw this landmark on any given day whilst we were playing tourist in the big smog ... heaps!

It's huge ... at night it lights up like an alien spaceship - it does, true!






Should actually count how many photos I took that have this particular landmark in them ... lol.

dinner tonight ... yep, dinner tonight ...

Burgundy - yep, that would be nice - or perhaps the Bordeaux ... could handle that too ...



Instead, I wonder what DH is cooking for dinner - he might have to share the menu with me ... ooh-la-la, the menu - yummy!!!

A-la-carte dining ... very 'noice' ... so too was a cold Sav ... and I was quite partial to a Corona with a chunk of lime ... very 'noice' ...

Scrappin ...

Sneak peeks ... scrapping week 2 with the girls at Scrappin Patch was to scrap Ingvild Bolme's style ...








Wowser, I am in total awe of Ingvild's scrapping style - her layouts and creations are truly pieces of artwork to be treasured [and some].

Left or right ...

on board ... that would be port or starboard ...



We were port, Empress deck and our room was E130 - somewhere aft and under the stack I'm guessing - well it was in that section, somewhere ... wasn't too often that I completely lost my bearings, but I will be honest and say, it did happen on occasion. I blame the lifts, cos if you were on another level and jumped in one of the lifts, I wasn't always sure when I stepped out of the lift, exactly where I was, or which way I had to go ...

Well at least I am honest !

Must remember to show a pic actually of the long corridors ... and trust me on this one, they were long.

You could have had sprint races up and down the corridor and be absolutely tuckered out, or in my case, requiring an oxygen tank - lol ... cos they were as long and as far as the eye could see - if that makes sense.

I should have taken a pedometer with me ... cos these feet sure did some walking - up and down stairs, to-ing and fro-ing on many occasions sussing out where DH disappeared to ... if I was out and about and went back to the cabin, there may have been a note left for me ... M ... I'm away to ... [wherever that may be] ... lol ...

I might have just snuck away to the casino ... well I did a couple of times - lol ...

Wasn't that long ago ...

Looking at heaps of pics on the puta and thinking to myself, I really should get some of these printed and ummmmmmmmm ... scrapped!




So, it's on the 'to do list' ... so too is something else my 'bubbly' friend ... which is still a work in progress. But good things come to those who wait and someone I know has been waiting for a wee while now ... it will be worth it - promise!

Stars in their Eyes

I found time this week to play along with the girls at Scrappin' Patch ... they have a new competition running and week one is now done and dusted and at some stage today I think the week 2 star is going to be announced.

Week 1 - was all about scrapping Steph Devlin's style ... wowser ... what a challenge ...

I hope you can see a little resemblance somewhere in my layout to the way Steph scraps ... I love green and purple together and throw in a little black on a white background and I'm a happy camper - and at the end of the day, that's the main thing.




And a couple of close ups ... I made the satin flower and really like the way it turned out. I purchased quite a few different colours of satin last week and I've had a wee play with some of them - a whole lot of trial and error, that's for real.






Chances are pretty slim that I will be able to put a layout together every week ... but we will see.

It's actually quite difficult to scrap in someone else's style to be honest. Just saying.

Slim pickings

in a nutshell ...

Yep, it was a case of slim pickings from me in the Country Papercraft newsletter that went out last week ...

But I did manage to whip this layout up in under 30 minutes. Truly!

It doesn't happy very often ... but it does happen!





My desk was covered in ... uuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm ... scrapping supplies ...

Ha ha, you thought that I was going to say something else ... well I had typed something else and then hit the delete key a few times ... and I'm honest ... lol.

I had painted a piece of cardstock with the teal blue colour paint before I went away on holiday, so that was already sitting there ... but everything else just kinda landed. Didn't have to push bits around on this one ... it all fell into place, I didn't over think anything ... just for a change.

Right then, need to play a little in my scrappy mess.

A little bit funny ...

well I thought it was priceless at the time.

We were wandering through Westfields, downtown Auckland while we were away ... I was actually looking for the loo and I passed by a lady at a stand. I gave it a quick glance as you do, but I was on a mission and my mind was elsewhere - lol.

Said lady said something along the lines ... we buy gold ... talking to me.

DH commented ... so does my wife!

OMG I didn't know where to look ... I was laughing that much ... lol.

Work out ...

This wee toy had a work out every day at sea ... my brand spanking new bingo dabber ...

DH and I had a few laughs at bingo ... it was truly hilarious.

and so it goes on.



Now I guess it will be going into retirement.

Although in saying that ... it really is a wonderful shade of teal ... perhaps I can think of a few more uses for it - lol.

Crafty ... didn't happen!!!

No scrapping supplies taken with me ... honest ... no scrapping undertaken on the cruise either ... honest!

This is the closest thing to being crafty while I was away - a rose making class using crepe paper onboard.
