A distant memory ...

... making a daisy chain ...

Yep siree, I recall sitting on the lawn [at school] for ages, using my thumb nail, making that wee slit in the stem, threading through the next one ... to make a daisy chain ...

Young and innocent ...

A little creativity ...

Glimmermist ... yep, I kinda like a little glimmermist going on, splotched here and there over white cardstock ... this blue colour is absolutely gorgeous and is the new 'Jack Frost' glimmermist.

On this layout I threw in a couple of really old, and I do mean really old, journalling spots - Heidi Swapp journalling spots to be precise ... it's gotta be good digging into that really old stash.

and then for the Scrapbox Christmas challenge - week 2 - to scrap a 12x12 layout and have 'Christmas morning' in your title.

Here's what I came up with at scrap camp.

I scrapped two of Miss Meg's darling wee children with their new bikes from last Christmas.
I was hoping that I had thrown in a couple of Christmassy Prima bits and bobs, but wouldn't you know it ... I hadn't ... buga ... but I did come away from Spotlight last week with a package of wee white Christmas angels, so made use of them instead.
Might have to whip back into Spotlight and grab another wee package of them.
In fact, must write that down and add it to my 'to do list'.

That's all for now.
Take care,
M

Scrappy mail ...

Remember that little pink box I blogged last week well I think it was last week ...

It's now going to be given away and be full to the brim of wee scrapping treats.

My blog counter has hit 20,000 just recently [well it would have been around 22,500 by now if blogger hadn't lost a few thousand hits last year for some reason ... I had one of those wee gremlins doing a wee jig for some reason].

But anyway, onwards and upwards ...

If you would like to have this wee box full of yummy scrapping treats land on your doorstep or in your mail box, let me know.
A treat in your mail box has to make you smile ... something just for you to play with ...

Leave me a comment before say midnight on Saturday night, I will bundle it up on Sunday and hopefully get it away in the post on Monday.

How does that sound?
Later,
M

Absolutely fab-u-lous ...

You and I might be lucky enough to know a very special lady ... an angelic lady actually ...

This lady [and my special friend] is a lady that can quite simply brighten your day, by just being there and she does, honest!

Well ... this past weekend I was more than a little privileged to spend some time with her and a few other scrapping buddies spent some time with her as well, outside the scrapping arena .

We attended her workshop 'Steeped in Beautea' and wow, truly ... if you get the opportunity to attend a workshop with Janine, it will be an experience that you won't forget.

I was absolutely stoked with everything. I can now say with confidence, that I am good at blending - lol ...

I feel reasonably certain that I may well be making a small investment in some essential oils ... just saying.

I've come home with bath salts ... well actually in my case ... ummmmmmmmmmm ... foot salts, cos I made peppermint foot soak and after a hard day at the office, or perhaps a walk with DH, I plan on making use of the peppermint foot soak and soaking my wee tootsies ... heaven ... well that's after I find my way through my scrap room to the wardrobe to dig out my foot spa - ROFLMAO.

I made talcum powder, I kid you not ... what fun ... just as well I contained the sneezes, cos wearing black, well it just wouldn't have been pretty, that's for real ...

And my favourite, well I'm sure that it is going to be my most absolute favourite [time will tell] ... I made bath milk, coconut bath milk to be precise ... bliss ... I'm sure that this is going to remind me of Fiji ... heaven! Paradise ... but just a little closer to home - lol.

I even packaged my wee coconut bath milk concoctions and well I just had to whip out and make a wee topper. I grabbed my stapler, punch, papers and a couple of flowers, leaves, feathers and bling ... and ummmmmmmmmm ... went for it ... 2 minutes tops and I was a happy camper.

I could have stayed playing for a whole lot longer, but I was kinda the last one to leave as it was and I guess it may have been a little noticeable.

So there you have it ...

Janine my friend ... you're so very special ...
We will have to do it all over again ... sooner, rather than later.
Take care buddy.
Hugs

Honey ...

I'm home ...

Living area now looks like a bomb site ... can ya tell I'm home.

Nope, don't answer that.

And just for the record, I just had to have a wee nana nap late this afternoon, I did, honest ...

Scrap camp ... it's quite simple really ... it's bleedin' hard work. It's exhausting.

I mean to say ... you exercise muscles that may not have had a decent work out since last camp ... I'm sure I've developed a few more more ... ummmmmmmmmmm ... laughter lines, true!!!

Would I do it all over again ... ummmmmmmm ... that would be a 'YES' ...

To my partners in crime ... thank you for sharing the weekend with me ... trust that you have all made it home safely and if you are still on the road, safe travels my friends.

Until next time.
Later,
M

P.S. you all know that saying, what goes on the trip, stays on the trip - lol ...

and ... just for the record ... I did it ... TWICE!!! go me ... ye-ah!!!

A little more creativity ...

Just in case you didn't know, I love playing with flowers and I love Basic Grey and Pink Paislee does it for me as well lately.

We all like playing with certain colours, we all have likes and dislikes when it comes to colours and I've never been big on yellow or red to be honest ... and wanna know something else, I've never been a Sassa girl either ... just not me really.

But when I saw this Sassafras collection come out ... well I thought to myself, ooh-la-la, I could play with that a little bit ... and so I did ... oops, so I have ...

Throw in a little glimmermist, a fibre or two, a feather or two and a little bit of this and a little bit of that ... and well, everything just fell onto my layout.

This layout has just recently gone out in the Country Papercraft newsletter as well.

Right then, best I get back to it.
Take care,
M

The scenery's a blur!

Hurtle down a winding downhill track through the trees.

Race through the bends, or pull in for a breather and enjoy the panorama.

Burn it up on the advanced track or cruise sedately down the scenic track.

Then hop on the chairlift and do it all again.

Skyline Luge - it's 800 metres of fast-paced freedom.

Once is never enough!

Well ... that's what it says on their website ... http://www.skyline.co.nz/queenstown/luge/

OMG, all I keep thinking is ... hold on for dear life ...

I could be doing this ... I might not be either ... I might just prefer sitting in the cafe sipping a nice cold glass of Sav ... or if it's nice outside, I might just prefer sitting outside sunning myself, sipping a nice cold glass of Sav ... hhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Holding on for dear life ... sipping a nice cold glass of Sav ... the scales are weighing more in favour of ... [time will tell] ...

Friends ... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ...

Will let you know.

Little boxes ...

... remember those instructions a couple of posts back ...

hope that you have given them a go ... easy peasy ... truly!!!

Well, I'm still making them ... lol ...

But this one might be filled with wee treats and be winging its way somewhere, over the rainbow ... one day soon ... just saying.
Watch this space ... sooner, rather than later.

Technology ...

gggggrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!

Those technology gremlins are a pain in the butt [and some] ... this puta has been driving me insane the last few days, well longer than that I guess ... I don't know what it is to be honest ... I don't think it's just the connection ... it takes forever to do anything and we are on fast broadband ... sometimes there's just nothing happening ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I mean n.o.t.h.i.n.g. at all!!!

I don't do technological problems very well ... in fact I'm a bit of a klutz really and when something isn't working the way it should ... well it's quite simple really ... I just get pissed off ... and I'm honest ... but moving along ...

But ... just in case we are going to have any issues that might cause said puta to have a permanent wee rest ... I backed up a few photos last night ... just cos ... or should I say, just in case ... none of my creativity though ... but just pics ... thought it would be best ...

Right then, a little creativity ... this layout has just been whizzing around cyber space in the Country Papercraft newsletter.

We were challenged to use labels / journalling spots / tags and I just had to throw in a little Prima ... as you do, don't have a problem with that ... ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... nope I sure don't have a problem with that ... and so I thought another multi photo layout coming up.
Remember all that Spring snow we had a couple of months ago ... well some of those pics have now been scrapped.
Doing the happy dance ... go me!
Right then, on that note ...

Are you blog hopping ...

with the DT girls from Scottie Crafts?

Well if you are, you have come to the right place ...

If you are visiting, just cos, then that's okay too ... but if you want to win some scrapping goodies ... it might be in your best interests to whip back to Scottie Crafts blog [see my side bar], register and come back and see me again ... crikey ... it will only take you a minute or two, honest ... but could be well and truly worth your while ... just saying.

If I wasn't such a techno klutz with the linking thing, I would have left you a link right here and it would have made your life a little easier ... but these things happen ... sorry!

Now don't forget before you leave you will need to follow my blog by joining Google friend connect, which is in the sidebar under the Scottie Crafts Logo.

Then leave a comment letting me know that you have joined as a follower.

So onwards and upwards ... so if you have come to visit me as directed by Scottie Crafts, I'm going to be sharing a wee project using Prima product ... no kidding ... Prima and I ... well let's just say that a girl can never, ever, have too many flowers, true!

So here we go ...

Grab a piece of 12x12 cardstock and a piece of 12x12 patterned paper ... now you can see that I am using Prima double sided paper and the team at Scottie Crafts have a wonderful range.

Cut a square 8 1/2" from the Prima paper, flip it on the reverse side [your choice] and use a pencil and a ruler and mark two lines from corner to corner to form an 'x'.

Then grab your bone folder and fold one corner to the centre point of the 'x' - make sense?

Then fold that edge in again ... check out the photos marked 1-4 ...

Easy peasy, I know it is ...

Now unfold the folded up area and flip your paper around and do the same again for each corner, so you are going to have a piece of paper with a heap of folded marks on it.

Now turn your piece of paper so it is sitting in front of you like a diamond shape, grab your scissors and cut in two sections, first cut to the left of the pointed edge ... move over two sections and cut in two sections again.

Turn your piece of paper around again and make the same cuts on the opposite corner ... does that make sense ... well hopefully you are still with me ...

Then flip your piece of paper around again and fold in your two point edges into the centre point of the 'x' ... check out the third photo from the group below - the bottom left hand side photo, so you can see what edges have been cut and what edges need to be folded in.

Fold in again and you have now just made the sides ... how easy was that?

Now you are going to fold the ends in and it is about now that I use just a smidgen of double sided tape to keep it together ... you don't actually need to ... but if you plan on removing the lid a few times, I suggest you use the adhesive.

That's it, one lid, all done and dusted.

Now ... guess what ... you need to do the same again to make your base.

For this wee box I have used white cardstock for the base and let me just check the measurements ... crikey ... I've got the measurement scribbled on a piece of paper attached to the memo board in my scrap room ... your piece of cardstock is 8 3/8" square ... note that when you put the lid on the bottom, it is a 'snug' fit.

My next grouping of photos, shows the last of the folds, the box itself and then people, it is time to decorate.

I've used Prima Love Letter Roses in the lilac colour - they are so very pretty. I've also added Prima leaves and a little Prima swirly lace bling.

I've also popped on a piece of Prima chipboard, a few extra pearly bits and a ribbon.

The team at Scottie Crafts can point you in the right direction in the shop, or pop on line and check out the goodies in the shop.

So there you have it ... fill your little box full of scrappy goodies and give it to a friend ...

You will put a smile on someone's face ... I'm sure of it.

I've made wee boxes like this on numerous occasions and they never fail to delight.

Not quite sure where I came across the instructions in the first place, so unfortunately I can't give credit, but it's just one of those wee projects that I keep whipping up ... and I may have even made a few more, just cos ...

And now ... to be in to win a wee RAK from the shop you will need to leave a comment on my blog [and be a follower] and I will get the random org generator to do its thing tomorrow and pick a winner. Don't forget you will need to have visited me before 11.59 pm TODAY ...

But more importantly, I hope that you have followed the rules regarding the blog hop on the original post on Scottie Crafts blog ... get it right now girls.

When she was just a little girl ...

she didn't always want to have her photo taken ... I'm thinking that you might see that in this photo ... ROFLMAO.

DD is 3 1/2 years old in this photo and I simply adored this wee dress.
One of my work colleagues at the time, well his wife was a dressmaker and I would get her to sew a little bit of this and a little bit of that for me and this dress ... well it was definitely a favourite.
A gorgeous colour, lots of lace and DD used to shall we say prance around ... but obviously this particular day she wasn't overly impressed to see that camera come out.
I've used the monthly kit from Country Papercraft ... and this kit has some gorgeous bits and bobs ... lots of goodies, a real wee treasure trove ... add a little ink and some distressing and I was done.
Right then ...
