Burlap and lace ...

Yep, a swap that I was playing along with on Facebook ... make a tag and somewhere on your tag use burlap and lace.

So that's what I did ... I used burlap and lace.

And this wee creation, well actually, it's a big tag, a huge tag really ... well this wee treasure should have now arrived safely in the land of Oz ... to my swap partner.

Hope she likes it.

I left the back totally blank - I did think of covering it but just in case my swap partner decides to gift it elsewhere, I thought best to leave it, just in case ...

and a close up or two ...

and as you can see, the sewing machine has been used ...

I had a real play putting this together

and whilst I wouldn't normally play with yellow, I loved these papers

So there you have it ...

It's the first time that I have played along with the tag swap with this group and I had a blast putting this together.

Can't wait until mine arrives and everyone does the show and tell thing.

Wonder what the next tag swap entails.
Happy creating

Playing with 13 Arts sprays ...

You can find it in the Flying Unicorn store here.

Now that gorgeous oval canvas that was plain old white when it arrived, well it is no longer.

It now look like this ...

It has been gesso'd, it has been sprayed, it has been stenciled/masked with texture paste and modeling paste and it has been sprayed and sprayed and sprayed again using 13 Arts sprays.

Gosh those sprays are truly rich in colour and if you are lucky enough to get your hands on them,
spray a little water on top of them and watch the colour change and then, well then spray them with a little white spray and ooh-la-la.

This canvas has what would appear to be a gazillion seed beads on it [not included in the kit].

Those little suckers bounce somewhat when a bottle is knocked over ... hmmmmmm ...
I know this from experience.

I have to say, I played somewhat with this canvas and in the end,
I really love how it turned out.

You can see that I have used those butterfly stamps again ... these stamps came from the Cardabilities sponsor for February and you can find them here ... and I've stamped them on transparency using Staz On ink and hand cut them out.

I've lightly scored them and adhered with hot glue gun.

Happy creating everyone.

Now quite a few of you know that I love creating with butterflies, in amongst other things ... and I was [and still am] ooh-ing and aah-ing over these stamps.

Yep, I was sent these gorgeous stamps to play with ... oops, create with.

Beautiful ... they are, truly ...

Picture

and my card ...

Voila

and I've used Staz on ink and the butterfly stamp has been stamped on to transparency and I've cut around the image and lightly folded to ever so slightly score the butterfly and put adhesive under the crease/scored edge ...

A close up of the layering ...

and another one ...

look at that gorgeous butterfly ...

Hope you find time to be a little creative and whip up a card and of course, upload it to the Cardabilities blog.

Happy creating.

I 'heart' you ...

Remember at the start of the month when Flying Unicorn released their February kit of the month ...

I shared this wee treasure with you ... well to be honest, there is nothing 'wee' about it ...

It's fabulous ...

Well have to say it looks nothing like that now ... it is no longer naked ... we have colour ... yep, we surely do.

and because I can ... get ready to view all those closies ...

there are a few of them ...

a closer look at that texture ...

there's a few layers going on ...

hmmmmmmm ... a whole lot of texture and layers going on ...

check out those black hearts, they are chalk board hearts ...

that cluster again, because I can ...

and another one ... why not ...

and once again, in its entirety ...

In the Flying Unicorn store you will find the Maya Road clocks, the flowers, the mesh ribbon, Prima resins and I've used a mix of Lindy's sprays and glimmermists and let's not forget the 13 Arts mists in the kit.

Underneath the gesso, there are three layers of tissue - that came in the box that my kit was in ... there are a trillion seed beads, and that is giving this heart a whole lot more texture, there's modeling paste as well and you can see a few wee spots/areas of a pinkish paint popping through - a 13 arts paint in the store ... and I've also used one of the blue 13 arts paints as well.

The 'odd' choice in spot colour, let's just say my first attempt at playing with this heart was a total disaster and was never, ever, going to see the light of day.

But I'm now happy with the way it has come together ...

Happy creating everyone.
