Christmas gifting

I'm back - this time to share a quick box and a double layered tee pee card or perhaps you might know it as a pyramid card.

They are quick and easy to whip up, but to the recipient it will look as though you have taken forever to have made it for them - they should feel extra special.

Anyone getting a handmade card should feel extra special to be honest - you have taken the time to make that card or gift for them.

Here you go.

Happy crafting everyone.

Rattan star

Hi everyone,

I'm back to share a little creativity, just because really.

I love Christmas, I love Christmas creativity and so let me share.

I purchased a small rattan star this week and was going to Christmasify a little for the Christmas tree - but instead I have decided it can be the Christmas tag on a special Christmas gift this year.

I have used the gorgeous Christmas collection from Couture Creations called
Highland Collection which has been designed by Sue Smyth.

The papers are gorgeous - so too the diecut ephemera collection.

It makes creating so easy when everything fits together.

Goes without saying that I would be adding a Christmas poinsettia to my star - it just finishes it off - said ever so quietly.

Here's a wee video for you sharing how I put this together.  Hopefully it links through to where you can see it.

Rattan star

Happy crafting everyone - hopefully you all find a little crafting time, 'me time' to keep you all sane at this time of the year.

Make time my friends, it has to be good for you.

Until next time,
CYA

Christmas creativity

A little Christmas creativity on a Sunday afternoon - horrendous weather at my place today - so it made sense to play a little.

Definitely a day to stay indoors.

I started off playing in my craft room - but then headed out to the kitchen, dining room area - oops.

Cardstock, patterned paper, pearls, muslin crafting fibres, throw in some die cuts that match the patterned paper, add some cinnamon sticks, some true snow and voila.

and this poinsettia is one from my stash - a Prima one from years gone by

Love the way this one turned out.

If you live in my part of the world, batten down the hatches
 - we're in for a wild ride as Spring throws a late storm our way.

Take care, until next time.

My name is Michelle and in the online world some of you might also know me as Mrs Frizz. I love to create with paper, cardstock, paint, mists, gesso, metal dies, canvases, flowers, chipboard, off the page projects.  I love adding ‘bitsers’ to my creativity.  I love to play a little, that really should say, I love to be creative. I work full time as an executive assistant, but when I’m not at work, friends and family know that they can find me at home in my craft room. You can normally find me playing, oops, that really should read, creating in my messy crafty space - it makes me happy.  It’s my ‘me’ time, it’s what I do to relax. I enjoy cardmaking, making tags, mixed media, anything paper related, altered art and off the page projects and yes, I do still create the occasional scrapbook layout and I love making little boxes for little treasures and trinkets for friends and family.

You can find my creations here on my blog:

My name is John Bloodworth and I am, like you, an arts and craft enthusiast and have been so for over 30 years. I have previously worked as a TV producer, a role in which I created over 10,000 hours of TV and internet content about arts and crafts. Having recently completed the All Counties Craft Challenge - a creative fund raising campaign in aid of Mind, the mental health charity. - I am now engaged in a variety of activities including demonstrating arts and crafts on TV, designing my own range of products and also sharing my creative passions under my online pseudonym, Gentleman Crafter.

You can find my creations here on my blog:

My name is Collette and I have been in love with paper all my life.
I remember cutting out and collecting those little paper dolls and their amazing wardrobes from a very young age; I still hunt them out today! I opened a craft shop 14 years ago and of course I had a HUGE papercrafting department. I really enjoyed running classes and had an amazing group of ladies who come week after week, some for 14 years! Although I love all forms of paper play, I am a passionate card maker and have a love of the more unusual ‘foundation’ cards. A few years ago I won Australia’s Card Maker of the Year, and feature most months in a variety of card making magazines. I have also been on a few Design Teams which has been amazing fun! I am a passionate YouTuber and love to bring my more creative cards to life with You Tube classes and am blessed to have thousands of followers from all around the world.

You can find my creations here on my blog:

I have been scrapbooking, card and paper crafting for over 20 years. It is a hobby and my creative out let which I am totally passionate about. I believe that preserving memories is important. You will always find me in my craft room creating, experimenting with different techniques and playing with new products. My mission is to inspire others to give it a go. Another passion of mine is creating altered art pieces, turning everyday items into works of art.  My work has been shared on many paper-crafting Design Teams and published in many paper-crafting magazines around the world. I am so excited to be creating again for Couture Creations, along with the other talented Design Team Members, we hope to inspire you all with our projects.

Christmas creativity

I love to create.

I love Christmas.

Put them both together and I'm a happy crafter.

I had the time to play a little and whipped up a wee gift card envelope.

I handmade a few poinsettias a few days ago and had them set aside - so I have to be honest and say it really did only take a few minutes to put this wee gift card envelope together.  It definitely wasn't time consuming.

What did I do?

I picked a paper from Couture Creations Highland Christmas paper pad, a couple of die cuts from the  diecut ephemera collection, grabbed an ink pad, some green cardstock, some crafting fibres, a little seam binding and I was away in my happy place.

I've cut a strip of patterned paper, scored, inked and adhered to my coin envelope - just a plain little coin envelope .

I tied some seam binding to the left hand side and tied to it the wee to/from tag from the diecut ephemera collection.

I've then adhered a piece of corrugated card [think cardboard box packaging] - yes, I pull apart and cut these apart to add a little height to areas of my creativity.  Sometimes I use foam squares, sometimes I use the cardboard box packaging.

I cut out a pile of Christmas foliage pieces and I have adhered them and layered them, added a small cluster of crafting fibres and then adhered my handmade poinsettia and finally topped it off with the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment from the diecut ephemera collection.

I've used a toothpick and then randomly applied a little True Snow to give it a more authentic Christmas look.

Done, just like that.

One Christmas gift card envelope ready for gifting.

Happy creating everyone.
