How about another one ...

 Hi there and welcome back.

Yep, I'm on a roll.

I realised that I hadn't shared this layout - another one ...

White, green and orange is really a refreshing colour combination  Well I think so anyway.

This layout featurs a whole lot of frames, foliage, foliage, layerings, a few rub ons.

I really played with this one and I love the way it turned out.

A whole lot of layering ...

A gorgeous embellishment cluster - definitely pleased with the way this came together ...

A closer look ...

and then voila ...

Happy crafting my friends.

Until next time

Remember these moments

Hi everyone, I'm back.

I seem to be holding together and keeping blogging duties up, well a whole lot more regularly than I was last year, that's for sure.

So ...

Blues and greens - I can do that.

A photo means a layout - I can do that.

49 and Market collections seem to be appearing in my craft room on a regular basis these days - crikey.

But I am slowly but surely being a little creative and actually using them.

Lots of layering ...

Hand stitching and rub ons - throw in a few film strips, foliage
and I'm a happy crafter.

A whole lot of layering.

A special photo and I'm done.

Happy crafting my friends.

Lilac tonings

Hi everyone

I couldn't stay from using a little purpliciousness - this time more in the lilac tonings.

I pulled another 49 and Market paper collection up off the floor - it had been buried in amongst far too many pizza boxes.

But it has now seen the light of day.

Another long and skiny card.

Lilac teamed up with a little green in the form of rub ons from one of 49 and Market's new collections.

I needed a sympathy card in a hurry and this one came together surprisingly quickly.

Happy crafting my friends.

Until next time.

Special friends

Sometimes a special friend just needs to be sent a special birthday card.

Simple really.

You grab some pretty papers, some cardstock, a bloom or two, perhaps a die or two [or three] and then you just play.

And sometimes when you just play - those cards come together very quickly - you don't overthink what it is that you are doing - you just do it.

Gosh I really do enjoy creating with the colour orange - team it up with a little patterned paper from the Elegance collection from our friends at Couture Creations and creating just became a whole lot easier.

White, orange and green - a fabulous colour combination for creating purposes.
It's fresh combo.

Right then, until next time

18th birthday

Hi everyone - well a big hello to my crafty friends around the world who wait patiently to see when I am going to hit that 'post' button - a time to share a little creativity.

Well today is that day.

I dug out a little 49 and Market for this project.

I made a gift box for a darling young lady who turned 18 this week.

I filled it with choccie treats and I also made a small envelope which fits just nicely into this sized gift box and I may have then thrown in a handful of loose pearls, some die cut hearts and a few '1' and '8' numbers i.e., 18 for her birthday.

Said loose pearls and other bits and pieces - my 'handmade confetti' may have left the box whilst it was being opened and some of those said pearls may have bounced everywhere - but hey, I wasn't the one on cleaning up duty - just saying.

Happy 18th birthdy Brianna - I hope you had a fabulous day and enjoyed your birthday celebrations.

Happy crafting my friends.

Until next time

Time to be creative

Hi everyone,

Christmas has come and gone and the New Year is now well and truly underway.

Let’s hope that 2023 is a fabulous year for all of us and that we can all find a little time to be creative in our craft spaces.

I have been quite happily playing [read here – creating] in my craft room with the gorgeous Elegance collection.

I seem to be on repeat whenever I mention this collection - it’s so easy to be creative with this stunning collection.  It truly is.

You’ve seen this type of card before – it’s easy peasy to make and so very quick to put together.

Let me remind you how to create one of these cards.

Cut four circles – I’ve used a 3 ½” diameter circle die.  Run through die cutting machine – four times.

Score them all in half nice and crisply.

Place adhesive on the reverse side on one of the halves of each circle and then adhere to cardstock squares.

You will need three squares of cardstock.

Two squares 3” x 3”

One square 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”

Adhere cardstock to bottom of card and the inside – two layers – I’ve used the lighter orange cardstock top and bottom and then the darker orange cardstock on top – still within the middle of the card.

Make a belly band.

Cut a strip of cardstock ¾” x 8 ½” – place around card to keep it closed and once you are happy with it score crisply to make sure it sits nicely.

Now embellish your belly band – I’ve cut out a scalloped circle – layered a little muslin, a few crafting fibres, a thread of pearls – I’ve also cut out three leaves in green cardstock using the leaves in the You are Adorable layered sentiment cutting die set, a bloom on the top.  And to finish I’ve added three small self-adhesive pearls.

Let there be ...

 Let there be ...

A little more elegance in the world.

It’s a crazy time of the year for most, but I hope that you are all finding a little time to be creative.  It has to be good for you.

I have been spending a little time in my craft room creating with the gorgeous Elegance collection.

Over the years I have come across many star albums – for some reason around Christmas time a few more of them appear – so I thought it was time to play a little – I’ve made a mini star album and I have to say that it came together really quickly and it’s definitely not Christmassy.

Whilst the original idea is not my own, you could make so many of these mini star albums and each and every one of them would be so very unique.

I’ve used three different coloured cardstock, patterned paper from the 6.5” Elegance collection paper pad, ephemera foliage, a little foil, some rub ons, some torn pages from an old dictionary, some seam binding, a butterfly die cut and a little washi tape and a whole lot of adhesive.

It’s so easy to be creative with this stunning collection.

Cut cardstock as follows :

5 x Charming [2” x 3 ½”]

5 x Fairy Wings [2” x 3 ¼”]

5 x Snow White [2” x 3”]

Score each piece of the cardstock in half.

Cut and adhere double sided tape on the back of short ends of all cardstock pieces.

Sort in to five groups of the different sizes/colours as though you were making a little book – each section of the star will have a green, a pink and a white page in each section.

Adhere the pink cardstock to the green cardstock – you need to take a little time to make sure that each edge is flush with the edge of each layer as you are adhering them to each other.

Before you adhere your white page it’s easier to decorate this page first – I’ve added torn pieces of dictionary paper, patterned paper, rub ons [or use your stamps], ephemera pieces, pre-cut die shapes, washi tape and on some of the pages a little green hot foil which I have rubbed on over some double sided adhesive.

When you are making a small mini album like this one – it’s best not to go lumpy and bumpy otherwise you are not going to be able to close your album properly.  [That’s part of the reason why I added extra paper layers to give it a little more depth and texture without the bulkiness of lumpy/bumpy].

You will end up decorating five sections before you start to build your mini star album together into one.

Now you need to add adhesive to the back of each of green sections – but only along the outside edge – most important – you do not do this to all of your sections – you will need to keep two pages open for the covers – hope that makes sense.

Cut a strip of seam binding, ribbon, lace, twine [your choice] long enough to go around the centre of your album – before you cut it make sure you have sufficient to tie shut – you need to add double sided tape and adhere – keep your adhesive away from the spine though, otherwise your mini book will not open and close.

Make your covers [using two pieces of cardstock] cover with your patterned paper – cut away on the angle at each of the corners – see photo – add adhesive and score edges to keep them sharp when you fold them over.

Covers – front and back

2 x Charming [2” x 2”]

2 x patterned paper [2 ¾” x 2 ¾”]

Adhere your covers to the front and back of your mini star album – tie closed.

You could gift this wee mini star album closed like a little book and leave a note to say that it can stay closed or it can remain open, displayed in the shape of a star and tied closed while it remains open.

Have fun.

Elegance ...

Quite like the sound of that myself.

Elegance.

Well our friends at Couture Creations released a gorgeous collection recently - you guessed it - called 'Elegance'.

Dies, pretty papers, stamps, embossing folders - team it up with gorgeous cardstock, a little bling, a few flowers and what more could you ask for?

A whole lot of Elegance.

Let me share a little creativity.

A DL card - in plain English, let's call it a long skinny card or perhaps a tall card.

I hope that your local retailer has this collection available – if not, you might like to give them a wee nudge.  It really does need to be in your stash.

Let me share how I put this card together.

Cut white cardstock 5” x 6 ¼”.

Score in half length-wise so that the front of your card now measures 2 ½” wide by 6 ¼”.

Cut Cantelaupe cardstock – pale orange colour – just a smidgeon smaller than the front of your card and again with your patterned paper selection.  Each layer is truly just a smidgeon smaller than the layer below it.

I’m in love with the salmon pinks and orange colour combinations in this paper collection – very dreamy colours.

I’ve cut out a butterfly using the same paper, some foliage – the white foliage is a very old Couture Creations die and then I’ve used the leaves die from the You are Adorable Layered sentiment cutting die set.  You will be seeing leaves frequently on my creativity – I love adding layers of foliage.

I’ve added a long skinny frame, some white twine, some crafting fibres, a few rub ons, a bloom and some pearls to my embellishment cluster and to finish off I have popped on three tiny self-adhesive pearls.  These tiny pearls are wee cuties.

How come ...

How come time disappears in the blink of an eye?

I was creating regularly, blogging regulary and then it just stopped.

The creativity didn't stop, but the blogging did.

And just like that ... two months have disappeared.

The year ended - well I'm thankful for that - because really, the last couple of years have been horrific in so many ways.

But we now have a new year, let's hope that 2023 is a better year for one and all.

Take care.

How about another one ...

Hi there and welcome back. Yep, I'm on a roll. I realised that I hadn't shared this layout - another one ... White, green and orang...
