A gift for giving ...

Hi everyone,

I'm back to share a little more creativity featuring the gorgeous papers from Couture Creations Butterfly Garden collection.

And what a stunning collection it is.

This time I have teamed the papers up with the Couture Creations scoring board and let me tell you something, this scoring board is 'da bomb'.

It is a 'must have' my friends.

I can see that it is going to be my 'go to' tool of choice.

I have made a card and a gift box and the gift box was super duper easy to make.  Using the instruction guide I picked a gift box size, made it up and then made the card to fit the box.

My box size was 3 x 6 x 1 and I used two pieces of 12 x 12 white cardstock to make the actual box and lid itself - so my cardstock size was cut to start at 7 x 10.

Trust me on this one, the box itself was 'easy peasy' to make.

I then used one of the striped patterned papers to decorate the panels of the lid of my box and the inside bottom of the bottom part of the gift box.

I used these papers ...

and I made this ...

My card ...

Cut cardstock 6" x 6" and score in half.

Cut patterned paper slightly smaller than 6" x 3" and run your scissors along the edges to distress a little.

Cut another piece of patterned paper slightly smaller, once again run your scissors along the edges and then tear on an angle and adhere.

Now it's time to start building up those layers.

Start off with some muslin [cheesecloth] - spread apart gently with your fingertips, a little purple mesh [this has been recycled from some flowers in a previous life], rip apart a page from an old dictionary - I chose the word 'love'.

Cut out a doily from white cardstock, add a little purple raffia, using the leafy die from the Butterfly Garden collection, cut out some foliage, make a foamiran flower and adhere.

To finish your card, grab a toothpick and randomly apply gesso around the edges and on your embellishment cluster.

Now it's time to embellish your gift box and I embellished mine so that it mirrored my card.

And I adhered a little more raffia around the edge of the lid of my gift box.

I hope that you can get your hot little hands on this collection - you really do need to add it to your stash and a scoring board - just saying.

Happy creating.
Until next time,
Take care

Purpliciousness

Hi everyone,

I'm back again to share a little more creativity using the Butterfly Garden Collection - a collection from the Couture Creations team.

It's one of those collections that you really must have in your stash.

I've used the following paper ...

To make this card ...

'Cherish' is another version of the triangular card I have previously shared with you.

Cut your white cardstock 6" x 9" - place your cardstock long-side across your Couture Creations scoring board - score at 3"and again at 6".

Cut a strip of cardstock 6" x 1" and score longwise.

Using a circle die cut a circle in your middle panel of cardstock.

Cut three panels of patterned paper 2 3/4" by 5 3/4" and then cut a larger circle in one of your paper panels and ink around edges before adhering to cardstock base.

Decorate and embellish your middle panel.

You can see that I have threaded cotton between the layers of my circle.

I have hand cut two butterflies from the other side of the patterned paper.

Adhere strip panel on the inside of your card to each edge to form your triangle card.

You can see the strip panel on the inside of the card in the next photo.

To embellish I have layered a little muslin, some crafting fibres, a thin thread of tiny pearls and then a bloom.  I have used a sticker sentiment and adhered to the paper strip running along the bottom edge of the patterned paper.

I have then used a little gel medium and adhered some sequins.

and just like that ...

I love creating in purple tonings.

Mini, mini ...

Every now and again you play and you make something that you really, really like.

I did just that when I made this wee teenie tiny mini album.

Recently I came across a quote and I used the quote on my wee mini tags within the mini album itself.

Preserve your memories
Keep them well
What you forget
You can never retell
- Louise May Alcott

You can see a video I put together here.

I have used two of the stunning papers from Couture Creations Butterfly Garden collection.

This is a collection that really should find its way into your stash my friends - honest.

Until next time,
Happy creating.

A new collection

Hi everyone,

Let me share with you the Butterfly Garden Collection - a gorgeous new collection from the Couture Creations team.

It's one of those collections that you really must have in your stash.

I've used the following paper ...

To make this card ...

Love, laugh, live is a triangular card.

Cut your white cardstock 6" x 9" - place your cardstock longside across your Couture Creations scoring board - score at 3"and again at 6".

Cut a strip of cardstock 6" x 1" and score longwise.

Cut three panels of patterned paper 2 3/4" by 5 3/4" and ink around edges before adhering to cardstock base.

Adhere strip panel on the inside of your card to each edge to form your triangle card.

You can see the strip panel on the inside of the card in the next photo.

To embellish I have cut a doily and layered a printed clock on the top of it, I have adhered some crafting fibres and a little string and then selected and adhered two die cuts from the ephemera collection, and then a flower.  I have tucked in two pieces of beaded branch to the sides of my bloom.

I have then used a little gel medium and sprinkled some sprinkles.

Three black pearl halves complete my card.

and just like that ...

This card could be gifted and used for both males and females.
