It's all fun ...

Sports day at school.

This is the first round, the fun day of athletics at school ... all the boys compete in order to qualify for the 'real athletics day' which will be next week sometime [I think] ... lol - and no paint in sight!!

The boys compete and earn points for their houses ... a whole lot of fun and today is the day that their true colours shine [or something] ...

You couldn't buy lots of body paints and face paints in certain colours in Invers this last week ... it's been a sell out.

The boys really do go all out ... some of the houses colours ... don't ask me which house belongs to which colour ... but the colours are : green, blue, red, black, orange and I'm thinking there is another one, but can't think who or what it is.

N is part of Pearce House ... their colours ... ummmmmmmmm ... I'm thinking the black kinda gives it away really !!!

DH took these pics after school today ...

I'm guessing this collage might just make its way into N's 2010 album ... funny that ...

Look at the state of him ... can't say that I have checked the shower box to see what sort of state that it's in ... but hey ... it's all fun and harmless fun, I might add, just quietly.

Driving to work this morning I go passed the corner of N's school and I see one blue boy and one green boy being dropped off ... lol. I was thinking to myself ... OMG I hope that there isn't any paint left on the seats in those cars ... lol.

Right then ...

A little retail therapy

I had a quick visit to the big red shed this week and came home with these.

Rochelle blogged about her recent purchase to house her Making Memories slice machine ... so, someone you know thought that was a brilliant idea ... and I too now house my slice machine in my hot pink bag ... kewlies.

But I also just had to walk away with the lime green bag as well ... just cos ... and nope ... they weren't purchased at the price on the tag ... they were half price ... so I got two for one ...

Bargain !!! That's right ... cos everyone gets a bargain at the big red shed.

2010

For the last year or two we have had all sorts of different prompts to encourage us to scrap different projects. Project 365 - taking photos on a daily basis and scrapping them whether it be scrapped simply or more detailed. Project Life came along, books of me popped up all over the place ... all sorts of exciting stuff ... the problem, well that's only if you choose it to be a problem, as you progress through the time frame you have set yourself ... is actually completing said challenges.

The challenge I set myself this year is a 12 month challenge and I guess at some stage could be even more challenging if I forget anything ... lol ... my challenge is to scrap on a monthly basis my son as he progresses throughout the year at high school, now that he is a senior student. A little bit of a different take in that I plan on keeping every receipt throughout the year, as I really do actually want to know what it cost to send him to school ... whether it be purchases made for academic purchases, school trips, sporting trips, sporting equipment, school uniform etc.

... and trust me on this one, we are well underway both with the photos and the purchases - lol - funny that!!!

Every month I will take photos of different activities, write notes about all sorts of things and then at the end of the year or in years to come, we can laugh, moan, or whatever about the year that was.

My theme colours throughout will be black and white, I've got lots of pockets, envelopes and all sorts of things tucked in here and there already.

Some months, I might take only one or two pics, I might choose to focus on one photo, and other months I plan on taking many pics and making a photo collage.

So yep, I've done the stationery pile, the new school bag, the new school uniform, the school shoes ... so I'm thinking that February's pic will take the form of a photo collage.

I plan on putting some type of calendar together as well on a monthly basis - circling the haircut, the after school activities, sports commitments, school trips, visit to the orthodontist, the dentist, cricket, rugby ... all that stuff.

It might turn into a real hotch potch of an album, but I'm okay with that ... I don't do messy that well ... but if that's the way it turns out, so be it ...

So here's a few pages to give you an idea of what my album is going to look like.

And I would also like to thank Karen and Ann at Inkspiration ... I visited the girls at Inkspiration with a pizza box of cardstock and papers and other bits and pieces, bandied around a few ideas that were running around all jumbled up in my head and so hopefully it will come together the way I envisaged.

I'm thinking that a bind-it-all might be on my shopping list at some stage, cos I watched and observed Ann punching all my bits for me ... thanks Ann.

Right then, I have been in and out of my scrappy mess for the better part of the day ... I have stuff for Africa, a wheelie bin that is slowly but surely filling up, piles of stuff here and there --- another heap of layouts to be filed away, now sitting on the couch to be filed away tonight. I just sprayed glimmermist all over cardstock, waiting on that to dry while I blog ... talk about multi tasking ... although the coffee cup is sitting a wee way away, to safeguard the newly sprayed cardstock - lol.

So ... CYA ...

Two little girls

Both photos taken on their first day of school. One little girl started school in November, 1993 and one little girl started school in October 1969 ...

One little girl grew up to become the mother of the other little girl ...

This layout was put together using the recipe challenge I set for the girls on the CPC blog earlier this week ... head over there for more details. Maybe some of you will choose to play along.

OMG I love Tim Holtz crackle paint ... and it shows ... lol.
Happy scrapping.

Challenged ...

One of the challenges for the CPC DT girls for February was to create with black, white, pink and red and use the word why ...

Well technically I didn't use the word 'why' as such ... but why did I make the noodle box up in the first place ... for a girlfriend for Valentine's Day and I used the colours to complete the challenge.

I have a few pink noodle boxes in my stash; I have played [oops ... read here, been creative] with lots of black and pink tulle and stitched on tiny red sequins. Black, red, and pink tulle and ribbons were tied on the handle and there are a few hot pink organza bags inside that will contain a wee few treats.

I've used Stemma Asian Pear Blossom papers and ink as well.

and there you have it.

Right then, I've got a layout sitting on my scrapping mat that needs a little tweaking and another couple that need to be photographed and a chook that needs stuffed ready for tonight's dinner and I had better shoot out to the garden and dig some new spuds, grab some broccoli, cauli and silverbeet while I'm out there.

I'm on to it ...
