For the last year or two we have had all sorts of different prompts to encourage us to scrap different projects. Project 365 - taking photos on a daily basis and scrapping them whether it be scrapped simply or more detailed. Project Life came along, books of me popped up all over the place ... all sorts of exciting stuff ... the problem, well that's only if you choose it to be a problem, as you progress through the time frame you have set yourself ... is actually completing said challenges.
The challenge I set myself this year is a 12 month challenge and I guess at some stage could be even more challenging if I forget anything ... lol ... my challenge is to scrap on a monthly basis my son as he progresses throughout the year at high school, now that he is a senior student. A little bit of a different take in that I plan on keeping every receipt throughout the year, as I really do actually want to know what it cost to send him to school ... whether it be purchases made for academic purchases, school trips, sporting trips, sporting equipment, school uniform etc.
... and trust me on this one, we are well underway both with the photos and the purchases - lol - funny that!!!
Every month I will take photos of different activities, write notes about all sorts of things and then at the end of the year or in years to come, we can laugh, moan, or whatever about the year that was.
My theme colours throughout will be black and white, I've got lots of pockets, envelopes and all sorts of things tucked in here and there already.
Some months, I might take only one or two pics, I might choose to focus on one photo, and other months I plan on taking many pics and making a photo collage.
So yep, I've done the stationery pile, the new school bag, the new school uniform, the school shoes ... so I'm thinking that February's pic will take the form of a photo collage.
I plan on putting some type of calendar together as well on a monthly basis - circling the haircut, the after school activities, sports commitments, school trips, visit to the orthodontist, the dentist, cricket, rugby ... all that stuff.
It might turn into a real hotch potch of an album, but I'm okay with that ... I don't do messy that well ... but if that's the way it turns out, so be it ...
So here's a few pages to give you an idea of what my album is going to look like.
And I would also like to thank Karen and Ann at Inkspiration ... I visited the girls at Inkspiration with a pizza box of cardstock and papers and other bits and pieces, bandied around a few ideas that were running around all jumbled up in my head and so hopefully it will come together the way I envisaged.
I'm thinking that a bind-it-all might be on my shopping list at some stage, cos I watched and observed Ann punching all my bits for me ... thanks Ann.
Right then, I have been in and out of my scrappy mess for the better part of the day ... I have stuff for Africa, a wheelie bin that is slowly but surely filling up, piles of stuff here and there --- another heap of layouts to be filed away, now sitting on the couch to be filed away tonight. I just sprayed glimmermist all over cardstock, waiting on that to dry while I blog ... talk about multi tasking ... although the coffee cup is sitting a wee way away, to safeguard the newly sprayed cardstock - lol.
So ... CYA ...
