A little purple ...

Prima has a new challenge - a card and tag challenge with a sketch.

Now if you know me a little, you will know that my favourite colour is purple.

So here you go.

My interpretation using Prima's July card and tag sketch.

I had a wee play with this one - I pulled some papers out of one of Prima's Special delivery 

boxes from a wee while ago [not saying how long ago - lol] 

and then I grabbed a little bit of this and a little bit of that and played.

On top of my background paper I have used one of the plastics from the packaging that comes 

with some of their flowers - it just added a little bit more in the background.

I have cut my sentiment twice using white cardstock and doubled them up 

- I found a new punch in the last couple of days and have actually used said 

purchase a few times - bonus !!

So there you have it.

Now you should have known that you were going to see a close up or two.

and another one ...

If you live in my part of the world, wrap up warm.

We have the feel of snow in the air.

Nine times out of ten it seems to miss us and fall elsewhere in the region 

- but this time, well this time, we may actually see some of that 'white stuff'.

A new Fabulicious collection

Sometimes you need to make a gift box for a special gift.

Sometimes you need to make a special wee tag for that special wee gift box.

Many of my friends ooh and aah over said gift boxes and tags.

I think that some of those friends 'look' forward to seeing those gift boxes and tags.

Perhaps a little more than the gift inside.

It's amazing what you can whip up relatively quickly when it comes to tags and gift boxes.

More Than Words challenge ...

Last night I pulled out some brand spanking new FabScraps papers and had them sitting in front of me.

In my mind I was thinking to myself layout.

I went to check something on the iPad and one thing lead to another, including looking at my incoming emails - these things happen.

It's all part and parcel of losing track of time - lol.

It's a new month, new challenges are available and this one jumped out at me and said to me, time to play.

Our MAIN challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

This challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.

Word Inspiration - SMILE

and so I did ...

I used my brand spanking new FabScraps papers.

I used More Than Words sketch to 'kickstart' my project.

And here's what I did with the sketch ...

This layout was totally inspired and whipped up as a result of 

July's, More Than Words challenge.

A sketch, a sentiment and voila.

Floral Dreams from FabScraps

A new release coming to a retailer near you ...

and a little creativity, just for you ...

Project - layout ‘Smile’ – Michelle Frisby

For This Layout You Will Need

•   FabScraps Floral Dreams – C88 001, C88 007, C88 008

•   Fabscraps crystal bling

•   Mists, cotton, muslin [cheesecloth], stamens, transparency clocks, gesso and flowers

Instructions

1. Use C88 008 as your background 12x12 paper for this layout.
2. Tear various strips from C88 007 and C88 001 and layer – some layers will be have torn edges and some will have straight cut edges for variety and texture.
3. If you look close you can see that I have used five paper layers in places as the base of my layout – doesn’t include the additional layering around the main cluster/embellishment area.
4. I covered in clear gesso using a paintbrush and spreading a little more with my fingers.
5. Dry and then spray and dribble mists to compliment your background papers.
6. I have given my scissors quite a workout with a sheet of C88 001 and cut out numerous images of the gorgeous flowers on this paper.
7. Looking at my layout you can see that I have layered cut out flowers, fabric flowers, muslin, stamens and other smaller miscellaneous flowers in the green tonings.
8. In the bottom left hand side embellishment cluster I have added a printed transparency clock, muslin, flowers, stamens, cotton, built up an embellishment cluster and added a sentiment title ‘smile’ using a metal die cut out.
9. Arrange everything and adhere and don’t forget to add a little Fabulous FabScraps bling.
10. All done.
