The blues ...

Remember in a previous post I mentioned that I made a purchase from over the ditch around Easter time from Jan at Scrapbook Affair - a little birdie had told me that she was stockist of some gorgeous Polish papers from Scrap and Me.

Sapphire Days was one of those paper collections.

There's a whole lot of blue going on - it's one colour that I've said for many years is really under-rated.  There needs to be more blue colourings paperwise.

I whipped up a tag using some of these papers - there's a whole lot of layering - but I really did have a blast making this tag and it came together very quickly.

The quote - well that came from a sheet of quotes/sentiments from the team at Imagine If.  Love using these quotes and sentiments - finishes off creativity, just like that.

Happy crafting my friends and if you are in my part of the world, wrap up warm.

Until next time,

Purpliciousness

Okay, so it's been a while since I shared any purpliciousness - so I thought it was definitely time to do just that.

I made a purchase from over the ditch around Easter time from Jan at Scrapbook Affair - a little birdie had told me that she was stockist of some gorgeous Polish papers from Scrap and Me.

So a few paper collections found their way into my shopping cart and then it was a matter of waiting on our friends at Australia Post to wave their magic wand and get my precious pizza box across the ditch.

Okay, so I have to be honest here and say it took a while ... but I have definitely ooh-ed and aah-ed over said papers since they landed on my front door step.

I whipped up a multi panel card.

To everyone in my part of the world, wrap up warm and I hope you find some time to be a little creative.

Until next time,

Listen to the music of the waves

Hi everyone,

I'm back to share my latest creativity using the gorgeous 'Seaside Girl' collection from the Couture Creations team - a music and beach themed creation - a violin.

'Listen to the music of the waves' - bearing in mind it is now Autumn in our part of the world - one can only imagine and dream about lying on the beach in warmer climes, listening to the music of the waves.

I have put together an MDF layered violin and I have to say I am totally in love with the new quick dry adhesive.  This project has been so easy to put together with this adhesive and a little tacky glue.

I used a mix of three blue paints and a crackle to colour my violin and let dry overnight to let the colours do their magic.

Then I have to be honest and say I attacked my violin in places with my sanding block - wiped away all the dust and then in areas I randomly applied my alcohol ink stayz in place inkpad - chocolate sprinkles together with my platinum brown pigment ink pearlescent ink pad.

I traced around the base of the violin to get the shape using Seaside Girl 12x12 paper 02 and the inside is covered in Seaside Girl 12x12 paper 05 - I've inked the edges before adhering to the violin itself.

I made a set of dummy strings and adhered to the violin and then I started to embellish.

On my table I pulled together a selection of ephemera die cut pieces, an array of sea shells, I strung some pearls, added art stones, I die cut an anchor [twice] and adhered together to make it a little sturdier to tuck in amongst some shells and ephemera pieces.  I also made a  piece of netting using some twine.  I delved into my stash to find anything else that could be used in a sea related setting.

After all my bitsers were adhered to my violin and I was happy with the way everything looked, I randomly dabbed some more quick dry adhesive over my project and and added art stones and sequins.

And then, I just had to add just a little more gesso.
