Gift boxes
Definitely the time of the year that you need to be using gift boxes.
It's fun making them in all shapes and sizes.
It's a whole lot of fun when you are using FabScraps papers.

3D ...
Time to share a little more Christmas creativity - yep, still going strong.
I could do the Christmas creativity thing all year round, year after year, honest I could.
I love Christmas.
I also simply adore this year's FabScraps Christmas collection 'Joy to the World' - have you figured that one out yet ... I'm starting to get down to a few scraps now though with some of the papers.
So easy to create with.
I belong to a few different FB groups and recently saw a creation and really liked the look of it - found the template here and thought to myself, yes, I can do that.
Easy, peasy.
Well yes and no.
Okay, I admit it. I struggled with this one ... something just wasn't quite right and it really did annoy me.
I don't know whether it was the type of cardstock, whether it was thick enough or not, but it drove me batty. It could well have been my cutter. Who knows.
So to get this box on a card I do believe it took something like, three different lids and four base cards.
I was determined. I was not going to let this get the better of me.
And I didn't !!! but it was close.

And yes, it just had to have a foamiran poinsettia on the top of the box.
I had to play a little with the box.
Happy creating everyone.
Until next time,

Christmas creativity
Joy to the World collection - it's this year's Christmas collection from the FabScraps team and boy-oh-boy what a stunning collection it is.
Angels and elves, stripes and spots ... this collection has it all.
You should have some of it too ...
Angels and elves, stripes and spots ... this collection has it all.
You should have some of it too ...
and a wee close up - you know it's going to happen every time ... it's compulsory viewing
Look at that gorgeous wee elf tucked in behind my poinsettia.
Now this tee pee card [or sometimes known as a pyramid card] is made with three square pieces of cardstock as the base and each square is 3.5" square.
My pieces of patterned paper are 3.25" square, each cut on the diagonal and each square unit
is then adhered to each square panel of the white cardstock.
A little foliage, a little muslin and some fibres and then finished off with Aleene's Glitter Snow.
Love creating at Christmas time.
Happy creating everyone.

Peace on Earth, Joy to the World ... yep, it's getting closer.

Another one ...
So I'm sharing another one ... this one though is a little different - no flowers.
Yep, no flowers!!!
I kid you not.
I was shopping at The Warehouse months ago and saw these papers and other crafty bits and pieces in the same colour scheme with some kids in mind, as a gift.
Oops, I opened them myself - oh well.
Something a little bit different.
The sentiment 'smile' is a 13 Arts sticker.
So I whipped up the card template, covered it in the teal patterned paper, grabbed the set of stars banner, punched a couple of holes and then popped in the eyelets.
A toothpick with a little gessso randomly applied.
Voila, just like that.
Another one, done and dusted.

Remember this project ...
Remember this labour of love project ...
FabScraps are holding a competition for their design team - the winner is based on votes [clicking on the like, love button and 'shares'] from their Facebook page. Click right here.
So if you like my project enough to pop on over and vote, well that would be awesome.
If you like another project when you pop on over and want to vote for that project as well, I say go for it - their are some very talented papercrafters and their projects are adorable - each and every one of them is totally unique and so very special.
So there you have it - one rather unique advent calendar. Well I think so anyway.
Happy creating everyone.
Voting closes soon, so if you haven't voted and would like to vote ... go for it ...

Everyday Spring
Another one of those 'easy bridge fold cards' is coming right up - this time though in a little brighter colour scheme.
These papers are from Lemoncraft and their Everyday Spring 6x6 paper stack pad.
Yep, I know, I cant help collecting these pads ... you can use them for so much, they go a long way.
Here you go ... such pretty colours together.
And you knew you were going to see a close up [or two] ...
That's the way I roll.
pretty papers
and wouldn't you know it, another couple of foamiran blooms ... funny that
Must dash - more creating to do.

A bridge fold ...
Recently whilst looking here and there and clicking on this and that, I came across a card fold and thought to myself, love that, must play with that and so I did.
Quite a few times.
I'm sure I could make one of these every day for the rest of my life and not get sick of making them - truly.
I think they would look amazing made out of all the stacks and boxes of 6x6 patterned paper pads that I have [ahem] managed to collect, hoard, buy or whatever - read here, add to my ever growing collection.
So watch this space, they will be shared here, there and everywhere else over the coming days, quite possibly months. Cos, they aren't going away any time soon. Just saying.
Quick and easy, now I know how!
Now whilst obviously finding the template, I will give credit where credit is due. It's what you do. It's a shame more people don't do just that, give credit, where credit is due.
I found the template here and it really is the easiest ever bridge fold card. Thank you Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek.
And I even added some bling, cos it's not like I don't have enough of the stuff lying around and it is not used as often as it should be or could be. Must do something about that.
So here you go.
You must have known that it was going to feature a wee bit of foamiran, surely you will have figured that one out all by yourself - ROFLMAO.
And a few more pics - cos that's what you do!
and yep, you do see a toothpick in there ...
A sticker 'for you' backed on a little white cardstock ...
and again, in its entirety ...
Now I have to say, as I have become a little more familiar with the template, things may well be a-changing, just a wee tad - Mrs Frizz style perhaps.
Right then, hopefully you will all find time to be a little creative over the weekend - I know that I will be.
Happy creating

Playing with pastels
A little more purple ... can't help myself, honest!
Now if you look a little closer, you should be able to see that there is in actual fact a difference in the purple tonings.
There is - honest!!!
The poinsettias on the right in the pic have been coloured with these pastels - I have used the lighter coloured pastel first and then over-coloured with the darker shade and that's the way the two of them turned out.
I use a baby wipe, dry it a little with a tea towel removing the excess dampness/liquid [you know what I mean] and then dab it on the pastel itself and then colour from the inside outwards on each leaf layer of the poinsettia. Hope that makes sense.
Love these purple colours - so rich, colour-wise.
I've used numerous pastels since I have been playing with foamiran - and these ones were definitely worth the investment from Amazon.
Happy creating everyone.

Purple, string ... you guessed it ...
I'm sure you did ...
You knew you were going to see a little more of that foamiran, did you not?!?!!?
Pretty in purple ... was always going to happen!
It just took a wee bit of time - lol.
Another string ball ... was always going to happen!
It just took a wee bit of time - lol ... oops, already said that ... just saying.

Aleene's True Snow and Glitter Snow
Okay my friends ...
I need to order some more of these products.
HELP ...
Alda used to keep my supply fresh and they used to floweth-over.
Now, I seem to be using it on everything creative, especially my poinsettias.
Best product I've come across yet for the snow effect.
Appreciate your input.

Pastels
I ordered some of these through Amazon.
They have arrived and I love the colours, I love the way it glides on to my foamiran.
Love the results.
These two pastels - the lighter shade used first and then a little of the darker shade on top - combined, the result is the coloured poinsettias on the right hand side of the pic.
The poinsettias on the left hand side of the pic were a combination of another two of the pastels from the set.
Loving the colours - far better investment than some of the other pastels I have been using.
In saying that, I was still reasonably happy with the others, don't get me wrong, but I had read a little about these Mungyo pastels and thought to myself, why not?
So I did. I made the investment and I am thrilled with them.
Happy creating everyone.

Advent calendar
Drum roll please ...
Are you ready for my latest and greatest Christmas creativity.
Here you go - a labour of love my friends, truly.
Chances are you are going to have to click on the photo to actually see all the detail.
Most of the advent calendar has been made using their Joy to the World card makers pack and another sheet of 12x12 patterned paper from the same collection.
We have candy cane standing shaped boxes, square boxes and envelopes - throw in some pegs and handmade foamiran blooms, church candles - a whole lot going on - but I have to say I really do love the way this whole project turned out.
My tray has been painted with thick gesso and then I have used a gloss gel and some fake snow and epsom salts to give the edge that crystal/Christmas snowy look.
Here's a few more pics, cos you already knew that that was going to happen.
Okay, so a little sideways going on ... exercises at your keyboard - lol - sorry
and again ...
