Special ...

One of my favourite photos of the kids ... taken a couple of years ago and scrapped before now ... but I came across this photo in the pile of photos and thought to myself, why not ...

This week with the girls at SBO ... to scrap with a little Maori design ... compulsory ... to weave and use a koru shape of some description.

So weave I did. I've actually woven a few times in past layouts and it really is easy and you can make some awesome embellishments.

And my koru shapes have come about using bling and a koru looking shape in my Prima tape under the bottom of my layers.

I found a tutorial during the week [somewhere] and made my flower ... loving these flowers and naturally I've been having more of a play with them since ... as you do.
Right then.

P.S. and just quietly ... I'm over this shitty weather ... BIG TIME!!!

Peeping ...

A little colour just peeping through ...

Gorgeous to look at ... but actually having it lying around for a few days ... well, the gorgeous-ness has gone.
Perhaps it is an age thing - lol.

The garden is under there ...

it is ... honest ...

Mr and Mrs Duck and family like to come and visit and play in there ... what a mission actually getting up there it would be at the moment.
Poor old Mr and Mrs Duck came to visit yesterday and they actually sat in our driveway on. the. snow ... poor wee things.
They must have been more than a little cold.
Just saying.

I. AM. OVER. IT ...

Snapshot ...

here tis ... a little more of that white stuff ...

I love some of the pics that I have taken today.

I froze my wee patootie, well big patootie off ... lol ... taking these pics.

DH threw my gummies out after we moved, cos I hadn't worn them like forever. So I put a pair of his on and was fair slip, sliding around out in the snow taking them, so that I could do my show and tell.

My tootsies were burning when I got back inside.

Will leave you to it.

P.S. I was so good at using my macro button on my camera, I forgot to take it off and some of the distant photos I was taking didn't turn out very well ... buga ...

Spring ...

has sprung ...

Love this pic with the flower out and the top part of it covered in snow ...

check it out ...

Oh wow ... now that the sun has come out ... it was blinding on the eyes ...

There's a fair bit of snow sitting on that part of the roof.

I noticed that some of the neighbours spouting has buckled ... OMG, I kid you not ... buckled with the weight of the snow. I'm thinking the insurance companies are going to be hit again with damage to buildings, motor vehicle accidents.

I've just heard on the grapevine that the stadium's roof collapsed ... but as I said, I've only heard that on the grapevine, second hand, so don't know if it's right or not.

Earthquakes in Canterbury, snow in Invers ... Mother Nature is doing her thing ... big time ...

Will work on a wee collage for you soon.

the white stuff ...

yep ... will be showing you all some pics ... we have had snow, snow and more snow this morning ... we were covered in white stuff when I woke up this morning ... and it's only just stopped.

We've had heavy falls of that white stuff and OMG, the kids were small, I mean, small ... when we last had a dumping like this ... and that stayed around only because of the frosts on top of the snow.

DH said to me before, he can't remember ever having snow like this though.

So just sharing.

Had the camera on macro, check out the water droplets on the bottom of one of the pegs ...

Wrap up warm.

Sports mad ...

yep DS is really kinda sports mad really - definitely got the sporting gene from moi ... he did, honest --- although DH did play basketball in his younger day - while at high school and DS will tell you that he sucks at basketball ... DS, not DH ... lol ... and there really isn't many sports that DS hasn't shone in ... but basketball is one of them.

So this week it was time to scrap about sports with the girls at SBO ... now it's not as though I don't have enough photos to scrap about sports ... come on now ... but I thought a little outside the square and thought back to some journalling and a rugby final and decided to go with that.

So ... hidden under my papers is two pages of journalling, I kid you not ... me and journalling and sharing journalling ... doesn't happen very often and in the past people have commented on it ...
So one lifts the tag that says, you guessed it ... [lift open] and there you will find all my journalling.
I used the latches as embellishments as a gate and then used the key and key lock, as in you need to use the key to unlock the door to the gate to read my journalling ...
Yeah I know ... what the ...
So my journalling reads :
Just for the record, it was a big day on Saturday.
There was a little rugger to watch around the region.
The young fella was playing in the U16 rugby final. Apparently he didn't play too shoddy either, just quietly ... in fact, it would appear he played rather well.DH was there with the video camera on hand and the tripod.
I've since watched most of the game. I will say it again ... he played rather well - lol.
DH arrives home after the game, as he is going down the hall I ask him ... well?I get 'yeah'.Me, did they go alright?
I get 'yeah'.
Well ...
He goes ... 17 ... big huge pause here ... 19 ... he's being a bit of a sod really ...
We won 19 - 17 ... he did it to get a reaction ... you guessed it ... he gotta reaction [and some].
I asked where the lad was ... apparently he wanted to travel back into town on the bus with the boys - can totally understand that ... as you would, as winners.
He gets home ... he's got half the paddock on his body ... well looking at the state of him, he surely couldn't have left that much dirt behind ... he was fair covered in it.
He was stoked.

He heads into the kitchen, opening up cupboards. I ask him what he is looking for ...
He felt he deserved one of these ...

He ran himself a bath, had a nice relaxing soak in the bath tub.

What can I say ... I know just how relaxing it can be having a nice quiet drink and a soak in the tub ... ummmmmmmmmmm ... wonder where he could get that from ... lol.

That long hot soak in the tub was cut a little short ... buga ... gotta hate that ... but hey ... there was a little more rugger to watch before the day was done ...

SOUTH ... LAND!!!
The big game played on Saturday 14 August, 2010 – Southland Secondary Schools Under 16 Final – Southland Boys’ High School Red vs DLS Midlands.
Journalling as blogged on Wednesday 18 August, 2010.
So there you have it ... definitely sports mad related, might not be quite what they are looking for in a layout ... yep, I could have taken pics of rugby boots, rugby bags, cricket shoes, cricket bags and scrapped them ... oops ... that's right, will definitely have pics like that ... but I decided to get my story down and it's a story that we won't forget and that's what it's all about.
On that note.

a little bit naughty ...

Did that get your attention ... lol ...

Sometimes when you want to be creative and your scrap room is just way tooooooooo messy ... you've gotta shift out temporarily ... you just do, honest!

Sometimes you don't have to move very far, for just a little more space. Say, just to the office, which is right across the hall.

And then sometimes, you don't actually remove said scrapping supplies from the office, and return them back to your scrap room ... sheer exhaustion took over - honest ...

And then wouldn't you know it ... time gets away on you, you have good intentions and then ...

OMG ... you get caught out ...

Well at least it was tidy ... ROFLMAO ...
'His' note says it all really.

Another week, done and dusted

with the girls at SBO ... this week, our challenge, to use the title or lyrics from a New Zealand artist ...

hmmmmmmmmm ... thinking cap on and once again someone you know decides to leave it till the last minute.

But that's okay, love my layout and it's not very often DH and I get our photo taken, let alone I have the opportunity to scrap it - ROFLMAO ...

Photo was taken back in June, somewhere in the middle of the Pacific, while cruising ... just saying ... lol.

Green, white and purple ... loving this colour combination at the moment and throw in a little Prima, some ribbon and some bling and I love it even more.

My song title - without you - by Brooke Fraser and one of the lines in the chorus - I wouldn't be the same without you - well that definitely struck a chord and some.

This man is not only my husband, he is my best friend, he is my rock, he is my world - quite simple really ... and I truly wouldn't be the same without him.

Love you babe.

another year older ...

Nope, not moi!!!

He's another year older ...

Sweet 16!!! and never been ... nope, don't want to go there - lol!!!

Wow, it doesn't seem like it was that long ago ... 16 years ago our wee man arrived into the world, he was all arms and legs and I tell you what, not a whole lot has changed, except those wee arms and legs are now a whole lot bigger ... they are ... truly! A whole lot bigger!!!!

Happy birthday to a special young man in our lives.

A young man that we are so very proud of.

Love you, but you know that.

So it's not easy ...

scrapping beach / summer / water type layouts when you are freezing ya patootie off ... and I'm sure that there are others that can relate to that ... lol ...

This last week though scrapping with the girls at SBO, the theme was to scrap just that - crikey, a challenge in itself.

But the gallery is fair humming and there are some bright and breezy, summery looking layouts that's for sure.

My layout this week - I played with some old papers, the BG Periphery range and I think Creative Imaginations papers ... out came the diamond dust, the scissors, the ink and throw in a little distressing, add the glimmermists, and wait for it ... a gauze bandage, yep you read it right, a gauze bandage ... and voila.

Creativity is creativity after all.

Playing ...

I have been playing a little with Tim Holtz crackle paint, and I also threw in a little ink and some lace and a couple of other bits and pieces and used sketch number 52 from Skissedilla http://skissedilla.blogspot.com/ and wowser, I was a happy scrapper.

Some of the Country Papercraft DT girls across the ditch played with the sketch as well ... awesome creativity.
You may have seen this one in the CPC newsletter that flew through cyberspace in the last couple of days.
So this one really did, just fall together, just like that.
Enjoy your weekend people and wrap up warm ... boy-oh-boy that cold polar blast that hit us today sure rattled my bones.
I think that this weekend is going to be shall we say an indoorsy-type weekend and with a bit of luck, that might just mean a little more creativity.

A little grungy ...

Still being creative with the kit from the girls at Scottie Crafts and the papers from Echo Park ...

To this layout I have added a paper doily and two transparency tags - I have used Tim’s alcohol inks and the tags have been embossed through my Cuttlebug.

I’ve also used the Tim’s Concerto mask with Rusty Hinge distress ink … cut out the middle of my backing Bazzill cardstock and used it as another layer above the Echo Park papers.

And I tried really hard to ‘grunge’ my layout up a little.

Just sharing. Later.

nearly ...

Second to last week scrapping the star's style with the team at Scrappin Patch ...

and this week, I. ABSOLUTELY. LOVE. MY. LAYOUT !!!

There will be journalling added now that I have shared my layout ... but these random thoughts of my special friend ... are for my eyes only ...

Have another look at this gorgeous pic ... chances are you will recognise her ... stunning photo.

So ... what did I pick up on ... a little stitching, butterflies, buttons, glimmermist, paint splatters and trust me on this one ... paint does splatter ... a bleedin' long way, doily lace edged punch strip, pleated edge, loving this edge and will be using it again with the stiching, different size fonts in the title and I just played.

There you have it ... one to go ... phew!!!
Later,
M

How about another one ...

Hi there and welcome back. Yep, I'm on a roll. I realised that I hadn't shared this layout - another one ... White, green and orang...
