Lily and Moss

Hi everyone and welcome back,

Just because - just because what - you are thinking to yourself.

Well that's the sentiment I have used on this card - just because.

I've used these gorgeous papers - another collection from Kaisercraft - this collection is called Lily and Moss.

I'm not normally one to use geometric shapes to be honest - but these papers really do all just go together and I love the end result.

Throw in a few pearls, a little mesh, a few crafting fibres and some gesso and I'm a happy camper [oops, crafter].

So there you have it.
Until next time, take care and happy crafting.

Another one ...

I'm back again.

Time to share a little more creativity.

Hope you aren't sick and tired of seeing these - cos I'm still loving making them.

This time I've used a little Kaisercraft - Lady Like collection of papers.

If I'm not playing with purples, and it's my choice, well my choice would be something floral and if it comes in pinks and greens, well then that is quite okay by me.

This one I have closed with a belly band.

A few more pics with this album - I've been getting a few questions in relation to the inside of my album and the sizes of the pages.

So coming up are some of the measurements of my inside tags and folders.

Here is the inside of this album and I have punched the middle strip four times top and bottom to thread through the twine to hold the signatures in place.

and again, in its entirety ...

I've used a very old Prima flower on the front of this mini album - it has been residing in my stash for a very long time.

So there you have it.
Until next time, take care and happy crafting.

Purpliciousness

Hello and welcome back

Those that know me know that my favourite colour is purple.

So I thought it was about time that I made a little purpliciousness and in the shape of a mini album.  Yep - the fad thing is still going strong and doesn't look like petering out any time soon - you have been warned.

I couldn't resist and there might be some of you that have been kinda expecting it - just quietly.

It had to happen really.

These are Stamperia papers and the purple cardstock [different shades] has been buried in my stash for like - forever - yep, I'm a hoarder [just saying].

So there you have it.
Until next time, take care and happy crafting.

Just for you ...

Ann Melvin is a very talented papercrafter from the UK - you can see her website here.

Recently Ann had a tutorial for a hat as an easel card and those that know me well know that I love to make an easel card.

So that's what I did.

I played a little and this is my first easel card hat ...

Now, when I dig deep and I mean really dig deep in my stash, hopefully I will find my purple and white striped papers - cos I so want to make an easel card hat with my striped papers.

It's on my 'to do ' list ... you know the one - that one that keeps growing.

Happy crafting my friends.

I'm on a roll

Let me share mini album number 2 ...

- same paper range as my first album - but a few changes

- a work in progress shall we say with a couple of changes in the middle signatures and this one is closed with a belly band and you knew there had to be flowers and crafting fibres coming up - cos that's what I do ...

The cover paper I absolutely adore [and some] ... and the belly band closure to allow me to 'tart up' the front of my album - love, love, love.

Happy crafting my friends.
Until next time,

P.S. I actually dug out my big button jar - now that doesn't happen too often, but it does happen ... digging deep in my stash my friends

A mini album - with love

For quite some time I've wanted to make a mini album from scratch.

I've watched countless You Tube videos, read through blog posts, thought about it and now it's finally happened.

I've been creating.  I've been playing.

I've made this.

I actually think I am going to be more than a little obsessed with making these mini albums.

I started off cutting chipboard, covering said chipboard with pretty papers and making the middle spine bit and then I played a little with white photocopying paper getting the measurements right.

I made the wee inner booklets.

And then tied them in with twine - this is what the outside of the spine looks like.

And then, well then I played a little bit adding tags, card shapes [my round corner punch had a great workout making this wee album], circle punched out pieces as well.

I used a die and made a couple of these and adhered them to the inside cover and the inside of the back of the album as well.

A fabulous wee tip - I used a wet glue and adhered the pearls as a closure so that I could tuck a small tag inside.  I placed a piece of gladwrap between the layers and then glued pearl down.  Once glue was dry, I gently pulled away the gladwrap - it didn't stick - woo hoo.  It came away cleanly and everything stayed adhered as it should.

Honestly, I have to say I love how this turned out and for a first album, love, love, love it.

To help hold this one closed I've just tied a twine type ribbon around it, tied at the top and attached a metal padlock and key [I treasure these metal embellishments, they come from a pack from the Flying Unicorn and every single time I use them now I smile and think of a very special friend - my friend Alda, who is no longer with us - but still fondly remembered and always will be ... together with a small 'with love' embellishment.

So much so [I love it that is] ... guess what - I've just finished another one.  Changed things around a wee tad, added a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Will share another day.

The papers that I have used for this album are Stamperia papers.  Did you know that Couture Creations not only have their own products [and fabulous products they are too] - but they are also distributors for other companies as well - including Stamperia.  Just saying.

Right then - lots of computer work to do and I need to be creating a little as well.

Must go my friends,
Until next time - happy creating.

Sending birthday wishes

Hi everyone

I'm back to share a little more creativity using the gorgeous Peaceful Peonies collection from Couture Creations.

This card really is quick and easy to put together  - you will have it whipped up in no time.

Base card measurements are shown below.

This is the top of the card looking down so you can see how it stands up.

I've used papers from the 6.5" paper pad - cut paper panels slightly smaller than each panel of the cardstock.

Ink around the edges and adhere to card base.

I've cut a sentiment panel 'sending birthday wishes' and I've also adhered the 'January' calendar page - you guessed it, this card is going to a friend celebrating their birthday this month.

I've cut out two doilies, two circles, added some die cuts and hand cut some butterflies.

A few blooms, a little gesso, some muslin, a heart die cut and it's finished.

Products used :
Doublesided tape
12 month Calendar pad

Until next time
Happy crafting
Michelle

How about another one ...

Hi there and welcome back. Yep, I'm on a roll. I realised that I hadn't shared this layout - another one ... White, green and orang...
