Envelope box and card

Hello and welcome to all our Couture Creations crafty friends around the world.

I'm back.

I've been creating and it's now my turn to share and hopefully you in turn will disappear into your crafty space and be a little creative.

Here we go.

Note - this post is a little photo heavy and I do apologise in advance - the technology gremlins have been visiting me and all sorts of strange things have been happening.  Technology at times can be so frustrating - far better to spend time being crafty ... just saying.

Today I am sharing a card and an envelope box.

I can tell you that the Couture Creations scoring board makes making envelope boxes a breeze - it truly does. The base of my envelope box took only a few minutes - the decorating and embellishing, well that took just a little bit longer.

Card

White cardstock cut 10.5" wide x 3.5" - scored as per photo.

Afterwards I trimmed a smidgeon off the left hand side panel and the far right hand side panel - so that when it folds up, it closes neatly.

Cut green cardstock and Le Petit Jardin papers
for each panel of your card.

Using rub-ons or stamps add birthday sentiments to each panel.

The envelope box

Cardstock 7" x 7".

You can see on the instructions above using 7" x 7" that you score on the 3" and 4" mark.

Plain white envelope box prior to embellishing and decorating.

Cut green cardstock strips for side panels and two panels for top and bottom of envelope box.

Cut patterned paper panel for top of envelope box.

Cut decorative corner die from white cardstock and adhere to cardstock flap.  [Tip - glue pen makes adhering scrolls, filigree die pieces a breeze].

Cut doily and butterflies and adhere to the top of the flap - this helps keep the flap weighted and closed.

Adhere fibres and muslin and build embellishment cluster.

Randomly apply gesso and art stones to finish.

Dream ...

Hi everyone,

I'm back to share a little creativity and this time I'm sharing a layout.

I don't create too many layouts these days, but it does happen from time to time.

Couture Creations released a fabulous collection, called the Gentleman's Emporium and it really is such a versatile paper collection to create with.

It goes without saying that the name gives away a little that it is a more masculine collection, but don't let that fool you - it is a versatile collection and one that you can also use to scrap the females in your life.

These photos were taken of my daughter whilst we were visiting her in the UK and tiki touring around the countryside.

On a black cardstock background, I used the reverse side of this paper and whilst I ripped and cut the paper and used the full sheet in its entirety, there is only one sheet used on this layout and by ripping and tearing and layering with a little black cardstock, the layers make it look as though I have used more than I really have.  In between some of the layers I have used 3D foam adhesive dots, not just the dots themselves, but the whole sheet, dots and surrounding adhesive packaging as well.

Building up the layers.

and adding a few more ...

Tip : whenever I put together a layout, I trim a little of the background paper or cardstock away [approximately 1/2"] - why do I do that, so that when it is filed away it sits in my plastic sleeve a little easier and doesn't tend to buckle so much --- most of my layouts are lumpy, bumpy layouts.

I extended the brickwork in the photos to my layout and used a brick stencil. I mixed a little modelling paste, together with some coarse texture gel and Couture Creations mixed media copper mix pigment powder.  I just mixed the gel and modelling paste together on a piece of cellophane packaging and sprinkled in some of the pigment powder and used a plastic spatula to spread over the stencil and then waited for it to dry.  I may have been a little impatient and used my heat gun to assist in the drying process.

Materials used :

CO726824 - Gentleman's Emporium - Sheet 11
CO725546 - Mix and Match pigment - copper
CO721985 - ultra thin double sided tape
CO726428 - foam dots
CO726343 - guillotine

Until next time
Keep warm and dry and happy creating
Best wishes

A 'special' card ...

I needed a 'special' card this weekend, so I whipped this one up for the 'special' occasion.

A whole lot of layering and a whole lot of foliage and there truly is a whole lot.

Let's hope the recipient likes it.

A closer look.

Loving these 49 and market flowers.

Just saying.

Until next time.
