Color Stories Inspiration ...

Well, this is a first for me and truly, I have no idea what I am doing ... and I'm being honest ...

But I've been and visited the scene and now I'm playing along with Case File No. 59 ...

Just call me Detective Friz - ROFL ... couldn't resist, sorry ...

THE SCHEME (USE ALL 5 COLORS)
  • Passion - bright red, taken from that red object on the top shelf
  • Smitten - pale pink, taken from the plate
  • Devotion - grayish green, taken from the topiary pots
  • Crush - dark charcoal gray (almost black), taken from the birds/branches
  • Beloved - light gray, taken from the canvas quote
EVIDENCE (CHOOSE AT LEAST 2 ELEMENTS)
  • frames
  • distressing
  • bird
  • cage
  • numbers
  • something glass or transparent
  • topiary tree
  • branch
  • create something like a shelf for elements to sit on
  • curls/flourishes
  • texture paste (inspired by the textured ceiling)
  • embossing
TESTIMONY (CHOOSE AT LEAST 1 ELEMENT)
  • Document Valentine's Day.
  • Let the quote on the canvas inspire you.
  • Use a movie title as inspiration for your journaling (can be the title of your layout, but make sure you also journal).
  • List 14 things about your topic.
  • Choose a prompt from here.
  • Frame your journaling
  • Inspiration Words: -- passion, love, perfect, arrange use these as inspiration for your journaling, not just as a title

so, here we go ... for some reason this layout just didn't photograph very well ... not sure why ... perhaps I should have used a little pink ... gelatos perhaps ... it looks very wishy-washy and it truly isn't in real life ... oh well ...

[I've just clicked on my layout ... it looks better when you do that ...] ...

Two elements at least [my evidence]; well that would be a frame, two of them actually ... either my Prima heart on top of my card or my masked frame on the bottom of everything i.e., the texture paste which is just about all covered up ... but it's there, honest it is ... now would I lie under oath ... nope siree ...

Add a little light distressing and some of those elements are starting to come together just nicely.

Hand written numbers as a date, do you think that they will county too?

I've even popped on something transparent - how about my 'love' bulb thingymajig,  I guess too you could even count my flourishes from said texture pasted frame ... now I did have a bird, actually two of them, but not sure if they will make the cut to be honest ... might have to hide that evidence ... lol.

And how's this for another element ... I've dried some of the rose petals and they are now attached to the back of my layout in a clear bag ... will dig out one of those glassine envelopes [at least I think that's what they are called] that I have buried in my stash from many years gone by, to keep them as a keepsake.

Moving along to the testimony, let me see ... document Valentine's Day ... well you can't get much more evidence and testimony than the card from my bouquet of roses that were delivered to me at work ... they smelt divine, didn't last as long as I would have liked them to last unfortunately.  I guess grown for the market in bulk type thing ... honestly, they were beautiful roses.

And the journaling, which is framed, is the message inside the card ...

Love you ...
See you in Paris!
Russell

And I've got the colour scheme covered ...

So that's it ... Detective Friz signing out.

Now ... seriously, I've got no idea where I am supposed to actually put my layout ... help !!!!

a little layering ...

A different shape, just for a change, but another easel card all the same ...

Using a little Suga Pop, another one of this month's releases from Kaisercraft.

Throw in some cardstock, some foam tape, a little ribbon [recycled], some patterned paper, a flower or two and some muslin and voila ...

It's been a while ...

Have to say, it's been a while.

Sometimes we go through shall we say a wee spell, where for whatever reason, there just does not seem to be enough hours in the day ... don't know why ... it just happens.

No idea where the last two weeks have gone ... but they have gone, just like that.

I have to say though, I will seem to be finding a little time to be creative.

This canvas was completed quite some time ago, awaiting show and tell on the Kaisercraft blog ... and I have to say, my team mates have really been creating some a.m.a.z.i.n.g. creations with this collection.

Pop over to the Kaisercraft blog, you will not be disappointed.

But anyway, here is my canvas.

now you always knew that I would share a close up ... lol ...

I’ve had a real play. I had fun using heaps of gesso, modelling paste, numerous glimmermists, templates and making use of some amazing Kaisercraft stamps.

Just quietly…..my heat gun also got quite the good work out. I was a little impatient waiting for everything to dry while putting this canvas together.

This canvas was 'gifted' as a birthday gift to a scrapping buddy ...

Right then, best I move this butt of this chair and get to it ...
Enjoy your week my friends.

75 Cents ...

Okay, so this collection will cost you little more than 75 cents in terms of real money ... but an investment in this collection will be so worth it.

75 Cwents

I know that Hilary has this collection available in the shop [hope this techno klutz has done the linky thing right].

This collection is one that you really don't want to miss out on ... this one is beyond gorgeous ...

Just saying.

To me sketches are open to interpretation and I guess this really shows in my layout this week.

I rotated and played with the long strip but you can still tell that I used the sketch as a starting point. I meandered off the beaten path a little and I love this creation.

Remember that Kaisercraft have new sketches up on their blog every Saturday.  Do try and find the time to be a little creative ... they have fabulous prizes up for grabs every month.
