Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse Share Unreleased "Ninjarous" Feat. MF DOOM from 30th CENTURY RECORDS, VOL. 2 (Words By: Connor Byrne)

"Unlikely Indie legends gift us with DOOM 's best emcee effort this decade, through a track crafted by long-time collaborator Danger Mouse (Brian Burton) in [conjunction] with posthumous prolific song-writer, Sparklehorse (Mark Linkous.) Listeners already have precedent that only good could come from duo, Danger Mouse & MF DOOM , as their collaborative project, DANGERDOOM , gave us 2005's The Mouse & The Mask . What differentiates The Mouse & The Mask from DOOM 's dozens of other projects—aside from the Cartoon Network features—is DOOM acting solely as the emcee in this outfit, where he usually has a heavy role in production. It's easy to see how trust was formed, though, as Danger Mouse curated his trademark clean, unique beats that set DOOM up to verbally knock it out of the park on every track. "Ninjarous" makes no exception here and while it exhibits the sterile perfection of Danger Mouse in feel, the influence of Sparklehorse ...

DOOM Gets Animated at The Hand of Dus T' for "Gas Drawls" & Now-Again/Rappcats Announces Villainous OPERATION: DOOMSDAY 2-LP Re-issue (The Witzard Micro-interview)

"If you are one of the few who have known about MF DOOM ’s debut album since the year it first dropped (1999), you’ll know there’s been a few versions of the album to come out. There’s been bonus tracks, bootlegs, CD's, tapes, and even a lunch box edition. But here’s the thing about OPERATION: DOOMSDAY — it’s a Hip-Hop classic! Those who don’t have it, need it. The record keeps selling out, and they keep making more. Just like The Beatles , if The Beatles came to destroy Rap ," Egon 's Now-Again -affiliated online record store Rappcats wrote within a rather "villainous" press release. Egon 's co-conspirator and revered Beatsmith-In-Chief , Madlib has had a particularly mysterious, light years ahead of its time, and oddly progressive relationship with the self-proclaimed METAL-FACE[D] VILLAIN since unveiling their lone collaborative project, MADVILLAINY , amongst the terribly unsuspecting world nearly 12 years ago. Now, upon Rappcats latest OP...

Lex Records #10 Presents: DOOM, Yorke & Greenwood - "Retarded Fren" (Complex)

They say that some of the best collaborative results come out of mutual admiration and friendship. Daniel Dumile AKA Zev Love X [MF] DOOM and Thom Yorke (Radiohead) managed to form their own professional bond around 2007-09. First off, Yorke featured a few DOOM -affiliated tracks within his various DJ mixes/playlists. He then proceeded to concoct a remix of "GAZILLION EAR," a track from DOOM 's very own Born Like This (2009). Talking to the press in March 2011, Dumile seemingly revealed plans to lay down a full album's-worth of material of material with Thom Yorke . Lex Records has now liberated what appears to be the preliminary fruits of DOOM & Yorke 's labors. Diligently produced and melded along with the technical assistance of Radiohead guitarist-producer Jonny Greenwood , "Retarded Fren" was quietly released late last night (11/1-2). Serving as Track #1 from Lex Records' upcoming 10-year retrospective compilation "Complex,...
