3 Feet High & Rising: Australian Indie-Poppers Strange Talk's Gerard Sindu & Stephen Docker Form French Electro/House-inspired KNIGHTFALL & Unleash "Watching Me" (VOLUME 1 EP)

Strange Talk is a Melbourne -based Australian Synth-Pop duo consisting of Stephen Docker and Gerard Sindu . Their music has been likened to contemporary Indie-Pop acts such as Passion Pit , MGMT, Phoenix , Cut Copy, and Yeasayer . Strange Talk released one full-length album, Cast Away (2014) on Wind-up Records and two EP's for both Wind-up and Neon Gold Records , as well as a number of singles and commissioned remixes . However, "after working on nothing but Strange Talk for the last seven years, the duo decided to take a break from the Indie-Pop world to pursue their other love... French Electro/House ," reads a recent press statement. Now, Gerard Sindu & Stephen Docker are actively readying their Electro/House -inspired EP-length re-birth as KNIGHTFALL , VOLUME 1 . It's About Time: Nile Rodgers Re-works Sister Sledge Out-take "I'll Be There" for First CHIC Album In 23 Years (Warner Bros.)

"It's still hard to believe I found an out-take [with] my original band @CHICorg #IllBeThere ," @nilerodgers exuberantly Tweeted late Saturday night; Rodgers, who's essentially the sole founding member of Disco-Funk originators, Chic (now, somewhat confusingly billed as "CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers" ), has been pain-stakingly compiling a collection of recently unearthed 1970-80's era Chic tracks along with contemporary producers like Avicii , David Guetta, and The Martinez Brothers . Chic 's newly-surfaced material, tentatively titled It's About Time , seems to have been oddly enough reverse "influenced" by modern-day Disco-Funk acts like Chromeo , Dâm-Funk, Tuxedo , Mark Ronson & The Dap-Kings, and even quite ironically, buddies Daft Punk & Pharrell , who were all very likely initially influenced by Chic 's genre-shaping output in the first place. " ["I'll Be There"] is a moving concept for me abo...

Random Access Memories: Daft Punk & Jay Z - "Computerized" (unreleased)

It's pretty awesome how wildly popular something as arguably inaccessible as Daft Punk 's sun-soaked Pharrell & Nile Rodgers -assisted 1970's Soul-Funk revival, "Get Lucky" slowly became one of the break-out hits of last summer; "Getting lucky is not just sleeping with her, but meeting someone for the first time and it just clicking. There's no better fortune in this existence to me," Pharrell explained within a pre-album Creators Project segment. Their Grammy -winning album, Random Access memories featured vocal contributions from the lies of Julian Casablancas , Panda Bear, Paul Williams , Chilly Gonzales, as well as a couple aggro-production credits on Kanye 's latest Industrial-Rap album, Yeezus . While it's true validity has yet to be 100% fully confirmed, a previously unreleased Daft Punk & Jay Z track suddenly materialized on The Internet Monday afternoon. Kanye to The forum user LordLordLord uploaded "Computer...

Daft Punk, Pharrell & Nile Rodgers - "Lose Yourself to Dance" (Soul Train 2013?)

Pharrell was quite arguably the undisputed hit-making champion of Summer 2013; having his hand in chart-topping mega-hits like "Blurred Lines," "Get Lucky," and "Burgundy." Over the past 10-12 years, Pharrell has effortlessly transformed from a relatively in-demand producer/ N*E*R*D frontman to a viable Hip-Hop-R&B hookman and he's most recently become Daft Punk 's pseudo-lead singer, more or less. "Lose Yourself to Dance" has been slowing picking up steam since it's radio/online release back in August. It's one of 2 devilishly smooth Funk -based Random Access Memories (RAM) cuts that feature Pharrell and Chic bassist Nile Rodgers , along with founding members Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo & Thomas Bangalter , of course. Pharrell stated in a recent interview that the track "makes [him] feel like waking down the street in the middle of the night in London and it's 1984, 1985," elaborating that ...

Random Lounge Jazz Memories: The Stepkids - "Get Lucky" (Daft Punk & Pharrell)

"We had to do this song... Only way to pay tribute to Daft Punk, Pharrell , and Nile Rodgers in one fell swoop. Enjoy y'all," The Stepkids Tweeted Tuesday morning; Diehard Daft Punk fan or not, I suggest you take a break from that Random Access Memories "leak" for a sec. and check this one out, my friends! Unlike Thomas Bangalter & Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo 's Electro-Funk -tinged original, The Stepkids have successfully infused "Get Lucky" with a sort of cheese-less Lounge Jazz vibe. The Stepkids are signed to genre-blending Indie Hip-Hop label Stones Throw and it's 3 extremely talented multi-instrumentalist members -- Dan Edinberg, Jeff Gitelman & Tim Walsh -- have separately worked with everyone from Alicia Keys to 50 Cent . Since inking a deal with Stones Throw a few years ago, the band has released The Stepkids (including "Legend In My Own Mind" ), Sweet Salvation EP , and a forthcoming album that's be...

Saint Laurent Presents: Daft Punk, Pharrell & Nile Rodgers - "Get Lucky" (High-Res Preview)

Monday mornings almost always suck; whether it's waking up in a drunken haze, with vaguely spotted memories of the weekend, or in sheer disdain of the impending week... Nothing incredibly good/bad ends up happening most Mondays . Daft Punk 's new pseudo-video for "Get Lucky" kinda feels like a hazy, weekend-spun memory, too. It was initially released via some grainy cell phone-shot footage that was filmed @ Coachella Friday night. The band's third Random Access Memories [May 20-21st] TV commercial aired Saturday night during the new Vince Vaughn-hosted episode of SNL . One would most likely assume that this is all the clever build-up to an upcoming "Get Lucky" music video, which would feature Daft Punk, Pharrell & Nile Rodgers outfitted in bedazzled Saint Laurent suits. Temporary frontman Pharrell recently told The Creators Project that "the robots" sought him out @ a Madonna party, drugged him, an flew him out to a Paris rec...

The Boys Are Back!: Daft Punk, Pharrell & Nile Rodgers - "Get Lucky" (Coachella Teaser)

Spearheaded by a guerrilla-style video "performance" that was broadcast @ Coachella late Friday night, the robot helmeted men behind Daft Punk have finally revealed some concrete info about their upcoming album, Random Access Memories . Eager fans rushed to pull out their cell phone cameras as a 2-minute teaser clip for "Get Lucky" with Pharrell and Nile Rodgers flashed on-screen; about 1 minute+ worth of shaky video was haphazardly captured by a few tech-savvy concert go-ers. It also revealed Daft Punk 's genre-blending list of friends-collaborators: Julian Casablancas , Panda Bear, Giorgio Moroder , Paul Williams, Chilly Gonzales , DJ Falcon, and Todd Edwards . Rolling Stone then posted fragmented pieces of a featured article/interview, which will most likely be released to coincide with Random Access Memories (May 20-21st). Funnyman Aziz Ansari soon Tweeted , "Can anyone confirm the rumored Daft Punk show at the Palm Springs Chuck E Cheese ? #C...
