Okay, here's another tape from down in the basement...some of this is off of a "master" of the broadcast but based on tape hiss, I think I edited some of it down to save room.  Weird set...how often will you find Ted Nugent butting up against hip-hop?  There are SEVERAL songs I can't identify, if you know the names, please leave a comment and I'll update the files and set list.

Fans of a particular group may want to break this up into smaller sets...the Steve Miller set is pretty good.

Here's most of the music from the 1989 Bammy Award show at the S.F. Civic, as broadcast by KFOG.  I edited out the talking.  This one is a diverse mix, ranging from the R&B of Tony! Toni! Toné! through Buck Owens Bakersfield sound (uh...that's not in the Bay Area!), to a big jazz-rock jam with Carlos Santana and Pharaoh Sanders.

Here's another one of the multi-artist Bay Area Music Awards broadcasts, this one from KFOG-FM.  This one has some interesting collaborations, with members of Journey teaming with both Michael Bolton, and Sammy Hagar, Carlos Santana jamming with Pharaoh Sanders, and a sprawling super-jam where all of the Grateful Dead jammed with Huey Lewis & the News, and then roped John Fogerty in for a finale of "Long Tall Sally."

I cut out as much of the talking and long introductions as possible, tightening this up to less than 80 minutes so you can burn it to a single CD.  Flac files of wavs.

Selections From The 16th Annual Bammies March 7, 1992

The Bammies were an annual Bay Area music awards show, founded by BAM Magazine publisher Dennis Erokan.  While the print magazine is long gone, there's an online version at http://bammagazine.com/

As with most award shows, there was a LOT of talking and not much performance.  I edited this one hour of music down from three 100 minute cassette tapes (recorded on both sides).  I edited the tracks as close to the start of the music as possible to cut out the blather.  There's two places where the deejay talks right over the start of the song, unfortunately.

Highlights of this show include Gregg Allman doing what I believe to be an unreleased song ("Turn Nothing Back Into Something"), and Kirk Hammett of Metallica jamming with Carlos Santana.
