Roxy Music tears the roof off the joint in this bootleg recorded in 1974/1975…

Recorded live in New York City and “L’Secret L’ocation” in 1975.

The Amazing Kornyfone Record Label (TAKRL) was one of the first bootlegging record labels in America. Kornyfone was based in Southern California in the 1970s. The label released albums from such artists as The Beatles, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Pink Floyd, Genesis, and others. Kornyfone was noted for their packaging, with interesting artwork and informative covers.

According to Clinton Heylin, “Though Dub’s output [at TMQ] in the five years separating Great White Wonder from Tales from The Who had outstripped any of his competitors, TMQ’s catalogue pales alongside what Ken and co. unleashed between 1974 and the end of 1976. A hundred-plus titles from the flagship label, The Amazing Kornyphone Record Label, were supplemented by represses of Smokin’ Pig titles, thirty-two titles on TKRWM (The Kornyphone Records for the Working Man), a dozen double-albums on Singer’s Original Double Discs (SODD) and sixteen releases on Highway High Fi Collector’s Edition Records (HHCER) (which regularly appeared with TAKRL or Smokin’ Pig labels - just to add to the confusion).” The TAKRL label was active between 1974 -1977. In 1978 they re-pressed some of their titles with black and white covers. — wikipedia

The print ad in Radio and Records says "An encore presentation of this spellbinding live concert. Broadcast via satellite from New York's Radio City Music Hall, May 26, 1983. Produced exclusively for The Source by Starfleet Blair Inc. Mixed by Rhett Davies and Effanel Music. If you missed the show the first time, you won't want to miss it again."

This may have had a custom cover on a box...at least there is one pictured on the Discogs listing.  I've included some press coverage, although most it is the same article chopped up and repeated over a few days.

This is from the syndicated re-broadcast of the show, not from the original satellite broadcast.
This was a good concert and was bootlegged by the Swinging Pig as "Out of the Blue."

Roxy Music never broke through in America. This period saw AVALON hit #53 on the Billboard album charts at the same time it was #1 in the U.K., Australia, and half a dozen European countries.

The cue sheet has a lot of minor errors in the titles, but also one big error: Remake Remodel is not on the disc, even though it is on the cue sheet.

300 dpi scans of the disc, cue sheets, and Certificate of Performance included.

I've also included a short article I wrote on what I know about the Roxy Music KBFH shows.  As it is mainly just documentation of the tracks and sources, I'm not reproducing it here on the blog.  If any of our Beloved Audience has updates, corrections, or comments to this article about the Roxy Music KBFH shows, please add it in the comments and I will update the article with your contributions.

Roxy Music - Tour Rehearsals 1982

                                                        *THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

I've noticed that we haven't been mentioned lately over at "THE BLOG NOBODY READS" so I'm hoping to remedy that situation with this post. A big fan favorite here. See scans.

ALL YOUR FEARS I FEAR I ONCE SHARED NOW I KNOW THERE'S A FUTURE FOR ALL OF US

          ################################################################

And now another contender for the worst song ever recorded. This is one of those groups you see on PBS during pledge week, where they get a bunch of old timers (audience and groups) together for a one night gala to sing their greatest hit. Doesn't matter if anybody from the original group is there or still alive, as long as it's an original drumstick from the original drummer it constitutes a "group reunion" I love how when the cameraman pans out to the audience, their swaying to the tune until the chorus comes on then everybody perks up and remembers the words, but only to the chorus. I can just see these old fucks (myself included) saying to each other "Hey... these guys are pretty good" even though it's some second rate bar-band trying to help us resurrect our youth.

Roxy Music - The Avalon Tapes

*Thanks to the original poster

There are pretty much two era's of the old Jobester's life. The period's I call DW (During Weed) and AW (After Weed) I do not think lesser anyone who smokes, as a matter of fact I think it should be legal everywhere, I choose to no longer smoke it. Seems to me I remember that DW if I had had a particularly shitty day it always took the edge off.  If something sucked after a couple of hits it didn't suck as much or at all. May I add that DW my day would consist of getting high before work, getting high during lunch, and getting high after work so basically I was high all the time. So during the holidays the opportunity presented itself for me to revisit my past. Well my results are in....after obtaining some high grade, I noticed that whatever (I thought) sucked still sucked. Outside of getting a little dizzy that was all I felt. I guess life has finally beat me down now that I'm an old man and situations didn't change after I exhaled. So be it. This CD is best listen to high.  See scans

Roxy Music / Captured Live! radio show Les Arènes, Cap d'Agde, France on August 26, 1982

Roxy Music
Captured Live! syndicated broadcast 2-LP set
for broadcast the weekend of April 2, 1984

Recorded at:
Les Arènes, Cap d'Agde, France on August 26, 1982

01. Captured Live! CL 1084 Intro
02. India > The Main Thing
03. Out Of The Blue
04. Can't Let Go
05. Avalon
06. My Only Love
07. Dance Away
08. Love Is The Drug
09. Do The Strand
10. Jealous Guy
11. Captured Live! CL 1084 Credits

The disc label is marked as "unhosted" and the show came with a script.  The cue sheet is missing.  I've included the script in case you'd like to do the announcing yourself. While the script makes it sound like the show was taking place currently in 1984, the recording is from 1982.  This is an edited, shorter version of a longer show.  Some set lists say the instrumental intro to "The Main Thing" is "South Downs" but it is actually "India," from the Avalon album (and thanks to Anonymous for contributing that information!).

Flac files of wavs, 300 dpi scan of the disc label and the two pages of the script.
