Another from the Sam Elliot's Mustache collection. Flac files of wavs, plus three different ads confirming the date of the show as August 28, plus some local press coverage.
This one's a WMMR-FM broadcast that was also used by King Biscuit Flower Hour. The October 19, 1986 King Biscuit (Show #650) was split between The Outfield (Tyler, Texas) and John Eddie (Philadelphia).
The John Eddie songs used by KBFH were Stranded, Waste Me, Jungle Boy, and Pretty Little Rebel. I don't have a copy of the KBFH to compare, but it's likely from this show. Concert Vault has this same show in streaming audio, with three additional songs at the end (When I Want A Kiss, Justine, and Maggie Mae). They have the date of the show as August 26, 1986, which is wrong (but not wrong enough for me to get our pal Dr. Strange to chastise them). The hand-written date on Sam's cassette is the 28th, and the ads confirm the date as correct.
Sam's tape cuts off after Suffragette City. Sam's not sure if he ran out of tape, or if the original broadcast ended after the first encore. It was not unusual for a radio station to have committed specific hours to a program and to end live shows before they came back for a second (or third) encore, so it may be that they didn't broadcast the entire show.
The Wolfgang's version has Pretty Little Rebel listed as Medley, because at the end of the song Eddie adds bits of Bennie & the Jets, Takin' Care of Business, and Little Willie.
At the time, several songs were unreleased: All Dolled Up, I Want You Back, Hard Cold Truth, Wonderful Life and Girl Trouble.
In a search on Discogs, I found that Wonderful Life eventually came out on Guy Walks Into A Bar...John Eddie Live (2001).
I also found three "unauthorized recordings" on a label named HemiTS Releasing. They appear be a bootleg label releasing radio broadcasts and needle-drops of less well-known artists, including Gary U.S. Bonds, B.E. Taylor Group, Joey G. & the Brick Alley Band, Steve Smith and the Nakeds, Donny Iris, Gravel, Norman Nardini & the Tigers, the Gunnslingers.
They released this Trocadero concert as HemiTS Releasing TS-0006 "Live In Concert 1986" 2017, with the full show. The source is probably from Wolfgang's Concert Vault as it has the extra songs.
