Back From The Dead by request...Again!

Dwight Twilley covering the Beatles? Yes, this is a great fit and a great song selection. I love the similarities and also the little changes that Dwight has put on these songs. When an artist "tweaks" cover songs but keeps them recognizable it keeps the listener interested. Great job, Dwight.

Dwight Twilley Band - Sincerely {1976}
Studio soundboard recordings @320
Out of Print
Combines the best attributes of pre Sweetheart of the Rodeo era Byrds with a good helping of Big Star, and a certain kind of midwestern sincerity and lack of irony and new wave smartassedness, such as one tends to find on Cheap Trick albums. You gotta give five stars to an album that combines the perfect power pop of I'm On Fire with the soaring, achingly beautiful She Was So Warm (which I wish they could have stretched out to about 10 minutes). The recording quality is absolutely first rate as well. Any fan of pre-new wave 70s pop who doesn't have this ought to put everything else on hold and track down a copy. And then get their second album as well. Due to the their name (sorry, but "Dwight Twilley" just doesn't sound hip enough for the hipsters), they will probably never have the cult cachet of Big Star, but it won't be because of the quality of their music. Beautiful! ~LHB
