We've got 300 dpi scans of all six disc labels, and the cue sheets.  Some press coverage, too, and a really blurry ad for the Ritz that may (or may not...) be for this show; I can't tell because it's too blurry!

Here are two "blink and you missed them" bands.  

Haircut 100 released their first single in October 1981, their first album in February 1982...and their second and last album in July 1984.  That's a run of 2 years and 9 months.

Novo Combo was even more short-lived, putting out their first LP in September 1981, and their second and last record in late 1982... less than a year and a half.  

So...if you're looking back from 2025 and wondering "who the heck are these guys," well, you're not alone.  I have a vague memory of sitting around the rehearsal garage while one of the band (might have even been me...) made snide remarks, disparaging Haircut 100's clothes on their first album cover, but that's it.  "What sort of rock band wears a knit sweater..." or some such twaddle.

Novo Combo breezed through so quickly I don't recall them at all, even though drummer Michael Shrieve was a high profile local musician here in the Bay Area, playing with Santana (1969-1974), plus stints in Automatic Man, and Stomu Yamashita's Go...all of which were on my personal radar.  But somehow I missed Novo Combo.

Both of 'em fall in the pop-rock area, and I enjoyed both of 'em.  Oddly enough, I liked the drumming on the Haircut 100 show more than the Novo Combo, but I don't know squat about drumming, so give it a listen and judge for yourself.
