Looking Back at 2025

2025 was not a great year for me, personally... But in the grand scheme of things, my troubles seemed pretty small and inconsequential compared to [gestures vaguely about] EVERYTHING ELSE GOING ON IN THE WORLD?!

I tried to maintain a positive tone on this blog and keep it a safe place, free of most of the bullshit...so... maybe I'll just leave it at that... and talk about some of the positive things that happened this year...like playing some games and painting some toys...

GAMES

Well I did play games this year... According to Board Game Geek, I played:

  • Warhammer Quest: Cursed City x35
  • Warhammer Age Of Sigmar (Fourth Edition): Core Rules x32
  • Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound x15
  • Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions Trading Card Game x12
  • Bolt Action: Third Edition x10
  • Advanced Song of Blades and Heroes x5
  • Five Men at Kursk WW2 Skirmish Warfare x3
  • Five Men in Normandy .30 Cal edition x2
  • FiveCore Pulp Adventure x2
  • Patchwork x2
  • Pergola x2
  • Warhammer 40,000 (Tenth Edition) x2
  • Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Crypt Hunters x2
  • Lost Patrol x1
  • Warhammer Quest: Darkwater x1

I played 126 games this year. There were fifteen different games I played.

Warahmmer Quest

Cursed City

By far the most played game this year was Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. For most of the year, Amanda, Finnnegan and myself were playing almost every week. The first campaign took nearly thirty missions to complete. We took a short break while Amanada and Morgan went on a trip to England in the summer (and I got the last things painted up for the next campaign). At the end of the summer, we started in on a second campaign; Night Wars. We have a few more missions to finish up - three if we're lucky and don't fail in any of the missions

Darkwater

the new Warhammer Quest was released at the beginning of December and I started working on painting the miniatures right away hoping to be done them all by the time we were done playing Cursed City. In the end we didn't finish up Cursed City, but we did play kind of a trial game of Darkwater just before the end of the year.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar

The next most played game was Warhammer Age of Sigmar. I'd played a fair bit in 2024, first with Spearhead and then a couple of larger games trying to start up a Path to Glory campaign... but then that kind of fizzled for a bit...? I can't really say why...? (because I can't remember! not because it's a secret and I'd have to kill you if I told you...)

Over the summer I had a renewed interest in trying to get all the Spearhead Armies I'd acquired painted and got playing with them again.

In the end I played SEVENTEEN games of Age of Sigmar Spearhead (and finished painting FOUR more Spearhead armies)!

I even got Amanda playing Age of Sigmar! First Spearhead and then regular Age of Sigmar - with the Sylvaneth army! We even started a small Path to Glory campaign (Methervale Campaign) initially using the Ascension Path to Glory rules from the Core Rulebook, but then incorporating most of the rules from Blighted Wilds - as kind of a trial run. We are gearing up to start a full Blighted Wilds campaign in the new year...

Nearer to the end of the year, around the same time I was starting the campaign with Amanda, a few of the members of the AoS-YXE Discord I ran got excited about running a Ravaged Cost Path to Glory campaign, so I joined in that as well! I also thought of those as a practice run for a longer Blighted Wilds. campaign in the new year! We sped through the campaign, finishing it up just a little over a week before the end of the year. I ended up playing eleven games in that campaign.

Between Spearhead and Path to Glory, I got in THIRTY-FIVE games!?

Soulbound

I did get in more than a few games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound this year.

I started the year carrying on with TWO campaigns I'd started in 2024 - one online, the other in person. Both kind of fizzled out in March after too many sessions were cancelled and I lost interest.

Over the summer I got a new campaign (What We Do in the Realm of Shadows) going. By the fall it had slowed to once every three weeks as one of the principal players (Orion) got a new job that took her out of town for two of every three weeks.

I played fifteen games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound this year!

Campaign for Ravensflight

In between the two Soulbound campaigns, I ran another role-playing lite, tabletop miniature adventure campaign I called the Campaign for Ravensflight. It was kind of inspired by Five Leagues from the Borderlands, but I used Song of Blades and Heroes to play out the encounters and tried to work in a little role-playing. It was a LOT of fun and I'd hoped it would have run a lot longer... but in the fourth session things went sideways and it was pretty much a TPK situation...

We'd talked about continuing the narrative with a different group (of dwarves!)... but that never got off the ground. I'd love to do something like this again.

Bolt Action

I think the most surprising and unexpected twist was a renewed interest in World War Two - which let to picking up the new edition of Bolt Action and playing ten games of that!

Five Core

I played a few games based on the Five Core game engine. I ran a solo game and a few game-mastered games of Five Men in Normandy/Five Men at Kursk and also a couple of games of the Five Core Pulp Adventure.

Other Games

I played seven other board and card games?

I'd expected there'd be more in this last week of the year between Xmas and New Years when we usually get together with friends we haven't seen for a while and play some board games we haven't played for a while... but that kind of didn't happen this year... At least, not so much as it has in previous years where we often had couples or groups coming every day to play games?!

There were two non-warhammer related boardgames I did play; Patchwork and Pergola...

I did get in a couple games of Crypt Hunters and Lost Patrol (both, technically, MORE Warhammer games... but Board Games!!).

Also we started playing Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions (a Trading Card Game that was produced under license by Play Fusion back in... 2018...? It is no longer published or supported... so, if you do some snooping, packs and starters can be found for reasonable prices (people just getting rid of dead stock)... though some can be found for completely UNREASONABLE prices!? I'm guessing because people think it's an out-of-print sought-after "collectable" and... while they are indeed out of print, I'm not so sure about any of those other descriptors!)

This is definitely a LOT FEWER board games than I've played any year over the last decade or so... and overall a lot more miniature games have been played - which is okay. Honestly, this is starting to feel like a miniature wargaming blog again!? I do miss playing board games, though... and some of the people I used to play board games with!

MINIATURES

In addition to an increase in playing miniature games (and likely BECAUSE of the increase in playing miniature war games) a lot more miniature PAINTING happened than the last few years...

TOTAL NUMBERS

2025 Totals

PAINTED

28mm Foot: 438

28mm Mounted/Beasties: 17

28mm Vehicles/Monsters: 11

28mm Endless Spells: 7

28mm Terrain Bits: 16

PURCHASED/ACQUIRED

28mm Foot: 479

28mm Mounted/Beasties: 17

28mm Vehicles: 27

28mm Terrain Bits and Endless Spells: 37

>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

DISPOSALS (Traded/Sold)

28mm Foot (unpainted): 94

28mm Vehicles (unpainted): 2

The main metric I use for considering how well I'm doing at things is the 28mm foot - as they are BY FAR the most numerous of all the things I collect and paint. I felt like I was doing pretty good in the 28mm foot category this year - for a good chunk of the year I was "in the black" - having painted more than I'd purchased... but that all came apart in the final Quarter when I bought the Shudderblight Cyst Battleforce box for the growing Maggotkin of Nurgle force... then the Outcast Spitegrove Battleforce box for the Sylvaneth army... THEN Warhammer Underworlds: Darkwater!? Those three, alone, added over 100 28mm foot to the tally!

Other categories... varied...

I painted up more mounted (and smaller beasties) than I purchased, chipping away at the pile of opportunity.

I purchased more vehicles (and larger beasties) than I finished up - largely due to a large ebay order of a PILE of WW2 tanks that were insanely inexpensive and the three large tree peoples bought in the last month for Amanda's Sylvaneth army

I bought more endless spells and terrain bits than I managed to finish off... probably largely due to buying the Malign Sorcery box - with 17 Endless Spell miniatures - which, if I'm being honest, I bought for ONE of those miniatures... sure, I can use some of those other endless spells with some of my other armies, but they're armies I've not been actively using, so I haven' really had much motivation to assemble and paint many!

It has been nearly a DECADE since I've been "in the black" (i.e. painted MORE miniatures than I purchased! I really thought I was going to pull it off again this year... then the new Warhammer Quest kind of happened... and the Sylvaneth Battleforce Box...

Anyway, at least I painted more than I have for the last few years. In fact the last time I painted over 400 miniatures in a year was 2019! In fact, I painted more this year than the last three years COMBINED!!

Most of this breaks down into two categories; World War Two and Age of Sigmar (plus a few random odd extra things...)

World War Two

As mentioned above, this was the most unexpected thing to happen this year... It was precipitated by my trading away a PILE of American WW2 miniatures to my friend Orion... and then ended up playing a lot of games with her in the first quarter... and that lead to some reorganizing of forces and finishing off a bunch that were partly done... I ended up buying WAY MORE than I got painted, though... and then the game kind of fizzled after just a few months...

What I painted....

28mm WW2 Foot

28mm WW2 Vehicles

I addition to painting new things to finish up forces, I also started re-basing large numbers of WW2 forces - removing them from old heavy washers I'd based everything on in the past (the weight of which are starting to distort my plastic storage drawers!) and basing them on plastic bases (other collections I've also started basing on wooden discs... but I kind of prefer the plastic ones now...

I did create a number of new pages on this blog to have a place to show off all the completed armies as I finished them off.

WW2 - USMC Raiders (PTO)

WW2 - Italy

WW2 - 8th Army in North Africa

WW2 - Afrika Korps

WW2 Chindits and Gurkhas

Though none of these are ENTIRELY completed... I still have a few things for ALL of these forces to finish up... and I have a bunch more forces I need to make galleries for!

Age of Sigmar

After the First Quarter, I (almost) exclusively painted stuff for games set in the Age of Sigmar - whether it was the Warhammer Age of Sigmar tabletop miniatures war game or Warhammer Quest or Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound (the role-playing game)

SPEARHEADS

In 2024, I'd managed to acquire EIGHT full Spearhead armies (Skaven Gnawfeast Pack, Stormcast Eternal Vigilant Brotherhood, Hedonites of Slaanesh Blades of the Lurid Dream, Blades of Khorne Bloodbound Gore Pilgrims, Sylvaneth Bitterbark Copse, Soulblight Gravelords Bloodcrave Hunt, Daughters of Khaine Heartflayer Troupe, and Slaves to Darkness Darkoath Raiders)!? In addition to this, I had elements of a few others (but I'd need to pick up a unit or two for each... Lumineth Realmlords Glittering Phalanx and Disciples of Tzeentch Fluxblade Coven). Only three of those were painted in 2024 (Hedonites of Slaanesh, Blades of Khorne, and Sylvaneth).

So I started 2025 with eight full Spearhead forces (plus elements of two more), three of which were painted...

In the summer when I started painting and playing Age of Sigmar again. As new Spearhead forces were released with Battletomes,  I realized I had elements of a few MORE Spearhead armies - lacking only a unit or hero or unit and hero to make up a few of the new Spearhead forces (Nighthaunt Cursed Shacklehorde and Blades of Khorne Fangs of the Blood God).

Over the summer I got two armies finished up...

Fangs of the Blood God - Blades of Khorne Spearhead force.

Anvils of the Heldenhammer Vigilant Brotherhood - Stormcast Eternals Spearhead force (this came with the Skaventide box)

In the fall I bought two more full Spearhead Armies (Maggotkin of Nurgle Bleak Host and Helsmiths of Hashut... one of which I painted...

Maggotkin of Nurgle Bleak Host

Nighthaunt Cursed Shacklehorde

So as the year draws to a close I find myself in the possession of FOURTEEN Spearhead armies, SEVEN of which are fully painted!

I also started a separate page on this blog to post pictures of the completed spearheads, keep track of the status of each the others, and post links to all the games that were played with each force:

Age of Sigmar - Spearhead Armies

In addition to Spearhead armies, I've been working to bring some of those forces up to full 1000-2000 point armies to play larger games!

Blades of Khorne!

The Fourth Edition Blades of Khorne Battletome was released over the summer and that (and the thought of playing Warhammer 40,000 with Khorne Daemons) prompted me to start working on my Blades of Khorne again. This was the first force I worked up to a full playable force for both Paths to Glory and as potentially a 2000 point matched play force! I have no interest in Matched Play... but I COULD play it...

All the Blades of Khorne, so far!

This adds up to about 2500 points worth of stuff!

You can see all the pics of individual units and characters and a number o  breakdowns of some different forces that could be fielded with this on the gallery page:

Age of Sigmar - Blades of Khorne

I still have a number of Blood Warriors (10) and Bloodreavers (30) I could paint up at some point (and two of the endless spells MANIFESTATIONS I could finish off). But otherwise everything I need for this is DONE!

Sylvaneth

The Sylvaneth I have been working on because Amanda expressed an interest in playing them - which I am extremely pleased with (largely because these are FAR easier to paint than the Daughters of Khaine I originally thought she might like to play!!). This year I finished painting the stuff I had - the Awakened Wyldwoods and some Tree-Revenants and Spite-Revenants. Then I picked up their endless spells, a unit of Gossamid Archers, a used Treelord Ancient, and this years Battleforce box - the Outcast Spitegrove!

Painted so far

Amanda has been using them in the small campaign the two of use have been playing  (Methervale Campaign) and will hopefully continue to play them in the Blighted Wylds campaign!

Maggotkin of Nurgle

Whereas the Khorne and Sylvaneth forces above were building on things I already had started in 2024, this was a completely NEW THIS YEAR kind of thing...

Painted so far (less the Warhammer Quest: Darkwater miniatures that can be used in this force!)

Nighthaunt

I have a small but growing force of Nighthaunts. I have only a few left to finish all the stuff I have. I did manage to finish up enough for a starter Path to Glory army and the Cursed Shacklehorde spearhead,

Stormcast Eternals

I finished painting the Vigilant Brotherhood Spearhead force... and that went easily enough that it, for a brief moment, inspired me to buy a few more units (used ones, at half price) and build up a bit of a force. I only managed to paint two additional Knight-Questors, though... so it isn't much more of a force just yet.

(I do have a lot of other Stormcast Eternals - enough for a starter Path to Glory force in the previous edition, but it is made up entirely of Warhammer Underworlds warbands that, for the most part, are no longer playable in the game, having passed into "legends"...)

Other Forces

I have a few other forces for Age of Sigmar... but didn't get much done on them this year... Hedonites of Slaanesh probably have over 2000 points worth of stuff painted... I have well over 2000 points worth of Slaves to Darkness... but most of it needs to be assembled and/or painted, but I didn't feel much motivation to work on much of that this year... (other than the Chaos Sorceress on Daemonic Steed). I have the beginnings of Lumineth and Disciples of Tzeentch and a smattering of stuff that could be used in a Cities of Sigmar army...

Warhammer Quest

There were still a few things I needed to finish for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City - Night Wars campaign that I finished up in the summer...

Togilius the Chamberlain was the last figure I needed for the initial campaign in Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. I didn't finish him off until the heroes were at a level that they might actually encounter him.

As the first campaign drew to a close, I finished painting the few things I still needed for the sequel campaign Night Wars, including Carmilla du Sang, Vampire Lord, the Fell Bats, and Radukar the Beast!

Then there was Warhammer Quest: Darkwater! I rushed to try and get enough of them painted to try and play a shortened version of Act I with some friends on 30 December... in the end all I got done were the Mire Kelpies, four Heroes (Edmark Valoran, Bren Tylis, Inara Sion, and Drolf Ironhead)Shaman FoulhoofGelgus Pust and  Mulgoth the Cleaver, and three Blight-Templars... I'd really hoped I'd at least get the Pestigors done... alas...

Role-Playing Games

There were a few Age of Sigmar miniatures that were specifically painted up for the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound Role-Playing Game. The Arkanaut Company and Minstrel and Pilgrim were all painted as crew and passengers on the Kharadrom Airship; Grungni’s Face!

Later, I acquired, converted, and painted up a Wight King to use as Sir Renmould of Sylum Field - Finnegan's character for the What We Do in the Realm of Shadows campaign

I painted a handful of things for the Campaign for Ravensflight - mostly Finnegan's miniatures, including a few Dwarves that we'd planned to use in a sequel campaign... that we planned but never got to playing.

What did YOU get up to over the last year?

What was your gaming highlight of the year?

What was your favourite miniature that you painted?

What was the biggest surprise?

Holiday Hobby Plans

I had a lot of stuff in mind that I've been wanting to work on - and had it in my head I might try to complete by the end of the year... and then I realized the end of the year was less than two weeks away! I tried to write down all those things in one place and then from that make a short list of the things I'd really like to get painted by the end of the year... and... the list ended up being NOT-SO-SHORT!! Even the shorter version of the short list seemed a little unrealistic to complete in the next ELEVEN DAYS!?

This is looking more like what I might get done in the first quarter of next year?!

This first batch is what I really, REALLY hope I CAN still knock out over the next week and a half - Their all Warhammer Quest: Darkwater miniatures which I'd like to run a game of just before new year... Also... a Gaunt Summoner of Tzeentch... for... REASONS!?

1x Edmark Valoran

1x Bren Tylis

1x Inara Sion

1x Drolf Ironhead

1x Shaman Foulhoof

6x Mire Kelpies

8x Pestigors

14x Pox-Wretches

2x treasure tokens

2x living rot tokens

I don't even have the Pestigors, Pox-Wretches, or Shaman Foulhoof assembled yet!?

Then there is the rest of the Darkwater stuff... which I'll probably finish up in the new year...

1x Kelthannor

1x Drasher Vorn

1xJacobus Vyne

1x Wisper

1x Gelgus Pust

1x Belga the Cystwitch

1x Mulgoth the Cleaver

2x Cankerborn

3x Blight Templars

The rest of the Sylvaneth stuff I have to finish up - for Amanda to expand her force as we play Path to Glory! Drycha Hamadreth is SO CLOSE to being done... I might get her done this year... the rest will have to wait for January...

1x Drycha Hamadreth

1x Spirit of Durthu

1x Treelord Ancient

15x Spite-Revenants (or Tree-Revenants)

The rest of the Nurgle stuff I have to finish up (that isn't in the Warhammer Quest: Darkwater set) - for ME to expand MY force as we play Path to Glory! All of it probably going to have to wait until the new year...

1x Harbinger of Decay

4x Pusgoyle Blightlords

5x Putrid Blightkings

10x Rotmire Creed

1x Feculent Gnarlmaw

This is the rest of the Nighthaunts I have to finish up - the Dreadscythe Harridans I don't even HAVE yet, but I was told they're on their way and should have been her this week, but were likely delayed by the blizzard. The Dreadscythe Harridans are the last thing I need to finish up the Nighthaunt Spearhead army, and that would be another spearhead army DONE... so, if I pick those up in the next week, they may jump to the head of the Queue - just because it would be nice to finish ONE MORE Spearhead army... the other ten models are the only other Nighthaunts I have left to paint then that collection is DONE... well... Until I decide I need a few more to make it an even 2000 points... that's all a next year problem though..

10x Dreadscythe Harridans

1x Scriptor Mortis

5x Craventhrone Guard

4x Myrmourn Banshees

I got it in my head I need to finish up enough Tzeentch stuff to field a 1000 point force... Then I'd have forces for ALL the main Chaos factions... (also... useful for Soulbound adventures I have!) Finishing THIS lot would also finish up another Spearhead army... Next year I guess...

3x Flamers of Tzeentch

1x Magister on Disc of Tzeentch

10x Tzaangors

10x Kairic Acolytes

A few Soulblight Gravelords needed to finish up yet ANOTHER Spearhead army... There are a few more Soulblights to do... but these are kind of the priority (because Spearhead, and because it would give me a solid core of stuff to build up a Path to Glory army around!)

3x Vargheists

5x Blood Knights

Seriously, how did I think I had time to get all these things done...!? (and I'm sure there are other random things floating around the workbench)

Realistically, if I were to get that first batch of Warhammer QuestL Darkwater stuff done, I'd be pretty happy... I think I have to accept that I'm just NOT going to be "in the black" for this year... maybe next year...

How many do you think I'll actually get done!?

Is there anything you NEED (or WANT!) to finish before the end of the year?

(let me know in the comments!)

November Games

Wow... November is done... where did this year go!?

Here are the games I got around to playing in November

Sunday, 2 November 2025

On the second we kicked things off with Episode Five of our What We Do in the Realm of Shadows Campaign! In this episode the Characters ran into Neferata herself and were given a new mission, bumped into some old rivals, recruited a Duardin Necromancer, and fought a pair of Pusgoyle Blightlords!

You can read a bit more about it here:

What We Do in the Realm of Shadows - Episode Five

Tuesday, 4 November 2025

After a bit of a break, we were back to playing Warhammer Quest this week... and... it did NOT go well. This was the first scenario facing Carmilla DuSang and the scenarios are TOUGH!! Things went poorly pretty much from the start and all four heroes were out of action by the third or fourth round!!

You can read about that debacle here:

Warhammer Quest: Cursed City - Night Wars 05 - Sabotage Journey

Wednesday, 5 November 2025

After Amanda's singing lesson, we tried playing a quick game of Age of Sigmar - using mostly rules for a Path to Glory/Narrative type game - i.e. NOT SPEARHEAD! I played my Maggotkin of Nurgle force and Amanda was playing Sylvaneth. The scenario involved the Sylvaneth defending a Soulpod grove from the Maggotkin!

You can read about all the action here:

Age of Sigmar - Defending the Soulpod Grove

I also made a map and a page with more information about the campaign:

Path to Glory - Methervale Campaign

Tuesday, 11 November 2025

We got in another game of Warhammer Quest: Cursed City - Night Wars on Remembrance Day. This one went considerably better than the previous week's game. It was still TOUGH... but not only did they survive... they SUCCEEDED!!

WHEW!!

Warhammer Quest: Cursed City - Night Wars 06 - Another Sabotage Journey

Wednesday, 12 November 2025

Wednesday I somehow talked Amanda into another game of Age of Sigmar!? We played the second game in our Path to Glory narrative campaign. It was another brutal defeat for the forces of Nurgle... you can read all about it here:

Age of Sigmar - Ambush at The Blood-Pines

Monday, 17 November 2025

Monday I rode over to Dragon's Den Games to meet with a fellow named Matt to play some Age of Sigmar - kicking off a Path to Glory - Ravaged Coast campaign!? You can read all about that here:

Path to Glory: Ravaged Coast - Light the Fires

Wednesday, 19 November 2025

I played a second game against Matt and his Stormcast Eternals later in the week, but this time at my place. You can read about THAT battle here:

Path to Glory: Ravaged Coast - Standing on Skulls

Thursday, 20 November 2025

If TWO games weren't enough Age of Sigmar for one week... Orion was back in town and wanting to get in on the Path to Glory action! So we set up a game on Thursday afternoon, then ended up playing TWO!!

You can read about those games here:

Path to Glory: Ravaged Coast - Blood in the Valley

Path to Glory: Ravaged Coast -  Rift in the Peaks

Sunday, 23 November 2025

We also got in another episode of What We Do in the Realm of Shadows while Orion was in town. Note the Great Unclean One hiding behind my GM screen! The "heroes" were attempting to disrupt a number of Nurgle followers from performing a summoning ritual that would bring said Great Unclean One into Shyish... check out the game report to see how successful they were... or... not..

What We Do in the Realm of Shadows - Episode Six

Tuesday, 25 November 2025

After another week off due to Finnegan needing to focus on schoolwork, we were back at it this week... (actually, when Finnegan left for campus, he thought he might be late again and we should probably postpone, but later in the afternoon texted to say things had gone well and he'd probably be home early enough to play! So we did!). This was a rather sad week, as the party lost another member. They are now down to four of the original eight. If they lose one more, that's the end of the campaign! you can read all about here here:

Warhammer Quest: Cursed City - Night Wars 07 - Sabotage Journey to the Deadnooks

Thursday, 27 November 2025

In the evening while everyone was out, I sat down to do a little solo play-through of Age of Sigmar: Champions the Trading Card Game for funsies... you can read more about that here:

Age of Sigmar: Champions TCG

TANKSGIVING

This was the BIG EVENT I had painted up that Great Unclean One for!! It was... not a terribly LONG even, for which I am grateful... it could have been a LONG SLOG if there had been too many people there with a lot of standing around... Overall, I'd say a positive experience. Would do again... but probably NOT bring a Great Unclean One again! You can read a bit more and see the pictures here:

Tanksgiving 2025

Sunday, 30 November 2025

There was Originally a plan to play Age of Sigmar with Amanda... But then I just didn't have the energy or time to set that up... but she was willing to try out Age of Sigmar: Champions - the CARD GAME!

We ended up playing three games. The first one took over an hour... the next two were twenty minutes or less! I played with the Chaos pre-constructed deck and Amanda played with the Order pre-constructed deck. Chaos won all three. It deals a LOT of damage... I'm not sure how the order deck is supposed to deal with that...? It doesn't seem as well constructed as an easy-to-play, ready-made starter deck. Amanda suggested next time we play three more and switch decks... so... at least she's willing to PLAY AGAIN!!

Whew! that's quite a few games I played this past month!! I hope I get to play even MORE through December as we all get a bit of a break over the Holidaze! At the least I expect Amanda, Finnegan and I might get in a few extra games of Warhammer Quest and perhaps Amanda and I will continue with our little Age of Sigmar campaign...? And hopefully we'll get to try out the Rise and Fall of

What games did YOU get to play in November!?

So... The World Championships of Warhammer Preview

(please note that none of the pictures in this post feature my miniatures nor are the pictures my own. They have all been lifted from the Warhammer Community page or are screenshots from the Preview videos and are all ©2025 Games Workshop. They are posted here without their permission for the purposes of review)

Last evening was The World Championships of Warhammer Preview which featured sections on the new Warhammer Quest game being released in the uncertain, but not-to-distant future... and a bunch of the new Maggotkin of Nurgle models that will be released along with the new Maggotkin of Nugle Battletome - likely in the first quarter of 2026. As well as a new Path to Glory campaign book.

I think the thing I am MOST excited about is the new Path to Glory campaign book!!

This campaign book tracks the war in Thyria - one of the continents in Ghyran, the Realm of Life... y'know... where the Sylvaneth and the Maggotkin of Nurgle have been fighting for CENTURIES since the dawn of the Age of Chaos! The two very armies I am currently working on for myself and Amanda!

The preview suggests it will let us "add a verdant twist to games", which I'm guessing is going to mean more interactive terrain (killer trees, etc!). There are going to be a pile of new battleplans and new battle scar tables and Paths that Heroes and Units can gon on..  (Path of the Thyrian Druids and Path of the Sacrifice Master for Heroes, and Path of the Weald-born or Path of the Foresters for non-Hero units) and new heroic traits, artefacts of power, spell lore and prayer lores...

There was a whole section of the Preview dedicated to the new Warhammer Quest game

I am also very excited about THIS!

I've thoroughly enjoyed playing through Shadows Over Hammerhal and the two Cursed City campaigns with Amanda and Finnegan over the last year and a bit. I just hope this is released soon enough that I can get all the miniatures painted before we finish up Night Wars!

(mind you, if everyone DIES trying to take down Carmilla DuSang, it might be over sooner than I anticipated!)

(Wait... I haven't posted the game report of the last game yet! Whoopsie! SPOILERS!!)

I was initially very disappointed about the idea of the modular tile-based maps being replaced by a book of smaller paper maps... It's giving me really Warhammer-Underworlds-skirmishy vibes, rather than Dungeon Crawl, like ALL THE OTHER WARHAMMER QUEST GAMES!?

But looking at the pictures and thinking back to Blackstone Fortress... the encounter areas, for the most part, weren't THAT much bigger (and often smaller!) than these paper maps are going to be... Going on a mission (or journey) involved creating a small deck of encounter cards which would either be a challenge (something you just dealt with outside of combat) or an encounter, in which case you were given a little map to set up and a hostile group or two to fight there... I imagine this will probably be the same sort of thing... and... that could work.

The Nurgle miniatures included in the box are all pretty cool. At least SOME of them should be useable in regular Age of Sigmar... though I was pretty disapointed to note that only eight Pestigors are included... and in regular age of sigmar they are going to be fielded in units of TEN... it's worse than the zombies in Cursed city... at least there they gave you ten, so all you needed to do was find one other person that also had Cursed City that also played Age of Sigmar and you could split a box of 20 zombies, to each have a unit of 20 that you need to field them in Age of Sigmar...

They are really cool-looking miniatures, but what are you to do with eight Pestigors... other than ALWAYS field an understrength unit (that you still have to expend the same number of points to field as a full strength unit!?? find FIVE other Warhammer Quest Darkwater owners that all play Nurgle armies that would be willing to split a box of Pestigors five ways...!?

Hopefully one of the Free Minature-of-the-Months this next year will be a Pestigor and that way I'll be able to pick up a ninth... just need a friend to go and get one (that's willing to pass it along to me! so I can fill out a tenth!)

The heroes in this new set are... okay... none of them really stand out as super interesting or exciting like some of the Cursed City heroes are! Maybe there'll be a tie-in novel that gets me a bit more jazzed about the setting and characters like the Cursed City one did!

As for the new Nurgle miniatures for Age of Sigmar...

There is Festus the Leechlord... apparently a character from a long way back... I'm less interested in this one. If I want to play with a BIG BAD BOI, I'll just dig out the Great Unclean One!

The Putrid Blightkings are getting new models and... I'm pretty "meh" about these. I don't HATE them or anything. I just really like the old models... and these ones... aren't wowwing me in a way that says - "YES! THESE ARE SO MUCH BETTER!?"

There is a new cavalry unit called Sloven Knights. I'm guessing it's just the three. would look cool as guards for my Harbinger of Decay...

Pestigors are back. They were a thing back in Warhammer Fantasy and are now finally just getting models for Age of Sigmar... I think... they look fun.

Another new unit called Rotswords... I'm guessing these will cheaper (in terms of points) and more numerous than Putrid Blightkings..?  A lighter infantry alternative... but not Rotmire Creed light...?

I'm going to guess that there will probably be a release box set that will include the new Putrid Blight Lords, Rotswords, Sloven Knights, and Pestigors along with a special edition of the Battletome and unit cards for a significantly discounted price... and I'll probably buy one of THOSE!!

I have my doubts that it will include Festus.. because I imagine he's going ot be a rather expensive model on his own... I feel like those don't get included in launch boxes. But then, Launch Boxes DO often include a hero of some kind... and I didn't see any mention of any OTHER heroes... so...?

There is also a new Spearhead...

Spearhead: Bubonic Cell

I keep telling myself NO MORE SPEARHEADS... I have so many still to paint and I'd rather play more Narrative games and kind of move away from Spearhead... - though it IS an easy-to-set-up, quick-to-play kind of game, so I haven't completely given up on it... AND I only have ONE of the five units that is included in it... and if I were to try and buy the other four units individually they would cost me $40 MORE than just buying the Spearhead on it's own and getting a bonus copy of the unit I already have... They're such good deals...

BUT WHEN WILL THIS ALL COME OUT?!

Is it going to totally wreck my plans of painting far more than I've purchased this year?!

To answer the second question first... I don't think so...?

If I had to hazard a guess at when these are all going to come out, I'd say Warhammer Quest: Darkwater will probably show up in the Sunday Preorder Preview a week from tomorrow and be in stores on Saturday, 6 December 2025...

The rest of it... ALL the new Nurgle minis and the new Path to Glory book... I'd guess that will all be in the New Year - probably January...? Maybe February... but I have a feeling it will all be in January!

Even having bought the Shudderblight Cyst Battleforce box and Great Unclean One a few weeks back, I am still "in the black" in most categories... (having painted more than I've purchased!) I am planning to pick up the Outcast Spitegrove Sylvaneth Battleforce box in a few weeks, which will add two larger beasties and twenty-five foot - but they are SUPER easy and quick to paint, so I feel like I'm not going to have any trouble getting those painted up before the end of the year and staying ahead of myself! Which will still leave me 10 ahead (assuming I DON'T get any of the Nurgle or Helsmith stuff done in the next THREE WEEKS before I pick up the Battleforce Box!)

(there HAS been some disruption in the painting this past week and there will probably be continued disruption over the next week and we have very suddenly decided to swap contents of some rooms around, including the room where my painting station currently resides... and there hasn't been a 100% for sure decision made about where that is ultimately going to end up!?)

There are FOURTY-NINE models in Warhammer Quest: Darkwater... but some of those are terribly small (treasure tokens) and/or easy to paint minions... I feel like I can knock those all out pretty quickly as well - Should have most of the month of December to do that! - and I'll be highly motivated to do so!!

If there is a Launch box with four or five units and a battletome at a significant discount I'll for sure pick that up... If there isn't...? The new units (along with the new Spearhead) can all wait! I don't NEED any more Nurgle stuff. Once I've finished painting everything I own, I'll have over 2250 points! Everything I acquire from this point on, are just "extra options" and/or "for funsies" because I like the models!

(I've also been eyeing up some WW2 infantry units that I have - they are also very quick and easy to paint up... if I need to get the numbers up by the end of the year!!)

I think they only things I'm going to be behind on are Vehicles/Monsters and maybe the Endless Spells... largely because I bought far too many tanks in the first quarter - expecially that order of TEN 3-D printed tanks. If I hadn't picked those up, I might have stayed ahead (not saying I regret that decision... because they were a crazy good deal and I WILL get them done at some point and then I'll be able to have some really fun big tank battles in the desert!!)

Game Plan 2025 - Q4

As we careen into the Fourth Quarter of 2025, it is time once again to take stock of what I've been up to for the last three months and think a bit a bout what I might do over the next three...

Q3 In Review

First, looking back at the things I laid out in Game Plan 2024 - Q3 and how successful I was at each...

Q3 GAMES

The Plan was to play some games...

I played some games! ✅

According to my tally on Board Game Geek, I played a total of 21 games in the Third Quarter:

  • 12x Warhammer Age Of Sigmar (Fourth Edition): Spearhead
  • 5x Warhammer Quest: Cursed City
  • 4x Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound

Not a LOT... but not NOTHING!? For some more details on how this all fit into the plan, continue reading!

Warhammer Quest

As planned we DID (finally!) finish off the initial Quest in Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. It took a little over half a year and almost thirty game sessions! Lots of fun was had... ✅

Then we took a little break - partly because I needed some time to finish up a few miniatures, but then also because Amanda and Morgan were off on a vacation to England for three weeks for the second half of July/first half of August... Then things got a little busy through the end of August and beginning of September with Finnegan returning to classes and Morgan starting university!

In September we DID get back to playing Cursed City and started up the Night Wars campaign! we're almost a third of the way through and should easily finish it up by the end of the year!

Role-Playing Games

I'd really wanted to get going on a new Role-Playing Game campaign by the end of the Quarter.

Initially I'd thought that might be Wrath & Glory as it seemed like my interests were shifting back towards Warhammer 40,000... I'd suggested running a few one-shots through the summer and maybe getting am ongoing campaign running in the fall... That didn't happened ❌

Then (as explained further below) that all shifted within a week or two and by mid-July I was once more obsessed with Age of Sigmar and thinking about Soulbound again... but.. with the Champions of Death book!?

After a few fits and starts, we DID get a game going (What We Do in the Realm of Shadows)... but then Orion got a job that took her out of town for two out of every three weeks... So far we have only played FOUR sessions (well... a "Session Zero" of making characters and introducing the campaign, plus three proper game-playing sessions, but it's been a lot of fun!  ✅

World War Two - Bolt Action

It was a bit of a surprise to have started playing Bolt Action again in the First Quarter. Despite the slow down in games and painting in the Second Quarter, I did hope things might pick up again in the third quarter and so included it in the Quarterly Game Plan. I have an idea for a skirmish campaign involving some of Orion's Hungarians - when she gets enough done - and then I imagined there will be a lot of campaigning on the Eastern Front with them!

Orion got busy painting all the new Space Wolves (and refurbishing older ones)... I got busy with Age of Sigmar stuff...  and Bolt Action kind of got shelved for now... ❌

Warhamer 40,000

I'd suddenly gotten very keen on playing 40K again at the very end of the Second Quarter and thought it might be the main focus of my gaming and hobby related endeavours through Q3. I even bought a Chaos Daemons Combat Patrol - to try out the Combat Patrol mode of play, but also to have some extra random wandering Daemons for Crusade: Armageddon, which I'd also picked up at the end of the Second Quarter with plans to play a Crusade Campaign with my Emperor's Children (and maybe try and get a Ynarri/Drukhari force together for Amanda to possibly join in!?)...

But then... while painting said Daemons... I got thinking about my Age of Sigmar Blades of Khorne army that they could also be used in... and Age of Sigmar in general... More about that in the Age of Sigmar section below (and Role-playing section above...?).

In the end, did not play a single game of 40K... nor did I paint any miniatures specifically for 40K (other than the Chaos Daemons... which can be used in both games...). ❌

Other Warhammer Games - Age of Sigmar/Underworlds/Soulbound/etc.

I did note that I hadn't entirely written ALL OF THE OTHER WARHAMMER games... I was STILL playing Warhammer Quest, so some part of my brain is still invested in the Age of Sigmar setting at least somewhat!? All it took was painting some Khorne Daemons for 40K to have my brain spin off on another Age of Sigmar tangent... Games set in the Age of Sigmar ended up being the ONLY games played!?

As mentioned above we continued with Warhammer Quest: Cursed City (Age of Sigmar setting game) and got a campaign of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound (the role-playing game) going again. But the game I played the most of, over the last three months, was Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Spearhead.

For the tabletop game, I ended up picking up the Blades of Khorne Battletome (which happened to be announced right when I was painting the Daemons of Khorne - ostensibly for a Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Daemons Combat Patrol) and then a few things to fill out the Blades of Khorne army and then the new Spearhead: Sand & Bone set that had been released earlier in the year!?

Over the summer I started playing Spearhead again. Mostly with Orion and John from the Warhammer store, but I also got Amanda to try it out. I ended up playing TWELVE games this quarter! ✅

I spent a lot of time thinking about Paths to Glory... but never got a campaign started. This was mostly I was trying to stay focused on Spearhead - to learn the basic rules of the game better and try out different forces and to keep myself motivated to paint up ALL THE SPEARHEAD ARMIES I own!?

Did not end up playing any Warhammer Underworlds, despite some briefly renewed interest when the new box was announced. ❌

Board Games

As with the previous two Quarters of 2025, I'd hoped to get some Board Games going on again... and that just didn't happen. Amanda may have played some games with friends when she went off for a weekend at a cabin with some friends...? ❌

Solo Miniature Games

As ever, I often think about the assorted solo-gaming projects I've started (Paras in Normandy, Pulp Adventure, Five Parsecs from Home, Devilry Afoote)- some YEARS AGO - and I thought it would be fun to carry on with some of those.. But realistically, I hadn't been playing any of them for some time... largely because I was getting in enough games with other actual humans!? So I figured I'd just keep those in my back pocket for, in case any of the current active in-person campaigns I was actually playing with those others fizzled or went on hiatus for a bit... ❌

Q3 MINIATURES

The Plan was to paint some miniatures...

I painted some miniatures! ✅

As I've mentioned, I initially thought it would all be Warhammer 40,000 miniatures... but then I very quickly pivoted to painting Age of Sigmar stuff again!?

According to my 2025 Painted versus Purchased tally, I painted:

28mm foot

28mm mounted (or beasties)

28mm Terrain bits and Endless Spells

Totals: 109x28mm Foot, 11x28mm Mounted or similar sized Beasties, 16x28mm Terrain bits and Endless Spells

This finished off a 40K Combat Patrol (Chaos Daemons) and TWO Spearhead Armies (Blades of Khorne - Fangs of the Blood God and Stormcast Eternals - Vigilant Brotherhood). I am VERY close to finishing two more (Soulblight Gravelords Bloodcrave Hunt and Nighthaunt Cursed Shacklehorde)

I did also acquire a few new things, however...

28mm Foot

28mm Mounted

28mm Terrain and such

Overall, productivity saw an increase again in Q3 - at least over the second quarter, where I'd only managed to get 50 foot painted... Though not quite as productive as the first quarter - where I managed to paint 199 foot miniatures, 4 mounted and TEN vehicles and tanks!? Part way through this quarter I surpassed (most of) my totals for last year 286 x 28mm Foot, 19 x 28mm Mounted/Beasties. 7 x Verhicles/Monsters, 34 x Small Terrain Bits/Tokens (it was a lot of very small tokens!) and have already painted more miniatures than 2022 and 2023 COMBINED!?

While I was briefly in the red, due to a few larger purchases... but end the Quarter mostly in the black. ✅

(In ONE category, I'm still a bit behind - Monsters and Vehicles- largely due to a significant number of WW2 tanks being acquired in the first half of the year, surpassing the rate of construction and painting! ❌)

World War Two - Bolt Action

I had hoped I might return to painting WW2 things, as I have a LOT of things I was wanting to paint - largely based on plans and projects (and stuff purchased) during the first quarter of the year... But as game playing tapered off in Q2, so to did interest in painting the things... ❌

Warhammer 40,000

As mentioned above, at the tail end of Q2 I was feeling like interests were shifting and 40K might be a focus for Q3... I had some big plans to paint up a Chaos Daemons Combat Patrol and then finish up enough stuff for an Emperor's Children starter Crusade force AND a Ynarri/Drukhari Crusade Force!? ❌

While I DID get the Chaos Daemons Combat Patrol finished! That got me thinking about Age of Sigmar... and things went in a different direction!! ✅

Age of Sigmar (including Warhammer Quest, etc)

In terms of plans for the Quarter, I knew I definitely would be painting up Radukar the Beast and the Fell Bats needed for Cursed City: Night Wars... and figured that would probably be it... unless after Night Wars I decided to finish up the last of the stuff needed for Silver Tower to play that...

But, as mentioned above, while painting some Khorne Daemons ostensibly for 40K, I started thinking about my Blades of Khorne army for Age of Sigmar... and then, that very week, they announced the new Blades of Khorne Battletome and a new Spearhead army...  So I picked up the one unit I needed (Claws of Karanak) to finish the new Spearhead army (as I had all the other elements) and a Skull Altar and the Judgements of Khorne Endless Spells er... INVOCATIONS...!? Then I also picked up an older, discontinued Lord of Khorne on a Juggernaut - which I could use as an Avil of Apotheosis Character in a Paths to Glory campaign.

I finished off Claws of Karanak - and with it a fourth Spearhead Army - The Fangs of the Blood God . I also assembled and painted up the Skull Altar and some of the Judgements of Khorne (Hexgorger Skulls) and the Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut so I was ready to play Paths to Glory, whenever we got around to it. I also got a few more Khorne odds and ends painted up - a Mighty Lord of Khorne (on foot) with a Flesh Hound pet, a Bloodsecrator, a Bloodstoker and five Skullreapers...

I had decided that while Amanda and Morgan were away on vacation, to make plans and play more Spearhead. And I did that! In the process, I picked up the newer Sand & Bones set and painted up the terrain for that!

I also finished painting up the Stormcast Eternals needed for the Vigilant Brotherhood Spearhead army

I knocked out Radukar the Beast and Fell Bats - moslty for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City - Night Wars - but they can also be used in a Soulblight Gravelords army.

I tried to work on the Soulblight Gravelords spearhead army - and maybe even finish off ALL the Soulblight Gravelords stuff I had... but momentum was slowing on those. I did get the Deathrattle Skeletons and some Deadwalker Zombies finished.

Later in the quarter I picked up the Maggotkin of Nurgle - Bleak Host Spearhead army and pre-ordered the Helsmiths of Hashut Army Set - which includes another Spearhead force.

Just for funsies I painted up a few character/heroes; a Hag Priestess that was originally purchased some time ago for one of Finnegan's characters in Soulbound, a Grave Guard/White King for Finnegan's CURRENT character in Soulbound, a Curseling just for something different to do, a Knight-Questor because I happened to be working on other Anvils of the Heldenhammer, an Auric Runesmiter because I purchased it at the Warhammer Store Anniversary Event last year and felt I should really finish it before buying ANOTHER special commemortative mini for this year's Warhammer Store Anniversary Event...

In addition to the miniature for Finnegan's Character, I picked up and painted an entire unit of Plaguebearers for an adventure I was planning... despite knowing I was probably going to be picking up the Maggotkin Spearhead army later in the Quarter, which also includes Plaguebearers... but I initially though we'd be playing that adventure BEFORE I'd be picking up the Spearhead army... and then because of the slow down of the campaign... we have yet to make use of them... Ah well... now I'll have MORE Plaguebearers for that encounter!!

GAME PLAN 2025 - Q4

And here is the plan (or rather "guidelines"... or maybe "intentions" based on best guesses... or... hopes...? "pipe-dreams"!?)

GAMES

Assuming I'm still alive... I plan to play some games...

Warhammer Quest

We've been playing Warhammer Quest fairly steadily for over a year now, first with Shadows over Hammerhal, then with Cursed City and, most recently, Cursed City: Night Wars...  I feel like it's safe to assume this will continue... unless everyone (in the game) suddenly dies...

It is very likely that we will finish up the Night Wars campaign by the end of the year. What will we do when that's done!?

It has been a few years since Cursed City was released, I kind of hope there's a NEW Warhammer Quest this year... It COULD happen. They often seem to be released in the fall (for xmas time!). I hope it's another Age of Sigmar fantasy one... but Blackstone Fortress was very popular, so I could see them doing another 40K one... or maybe an Warhammer Old Worlde one... If it were a 40K themed game, I might have to pass... I have SO MUCH STUFF for Blackstone Fortress that we never got to playing through.

If we do finish Night Wars and there isn't a new one, we do still have Silver Tower we could play through.

We do still have Blackstone Fortress as well, that I would like to finish off at some point! I'm reluctant to say we'd go back to playing Blackstone Fortress, however, (or some other new 40K Warhammer Quest) as it might precipitate a shift back to interest in Warhammer 40K... and... I REALLY want to stay focused on Age of Sigmar for a bit more - just so I can get some of these miniatures I've acquired PAINTED!!

Age of Sigmar

I have a feeling this it going to be the most played game again this Quarter. Very likely it will also be mostly games of Spearhead.

While there is a part of me that would really, REALLY LOVE to get a Path to Glory campaign going...  I kind of feel like I'd  like to stay focused on playing Spearhead for the rest of the year - this will hopefully keep me focused and motivated to paint up all the wildly different forces I've collected for the game and give me a chance to try them out and really nail down what might be fun to play in a Path to Glory campaign.

Role-Playing Games

Hopefully we'll be able to continue with What We Do in the Realm of Shadows! As we'll only be playing one out of every three weeks... MAYBE... It could take us the rest of the year to wrap this up...

Once we are, there is a Soulbound: Champions of Chaos book that's supposed to come out... sometime.. They announced it years ago, but in the last few months hinted that it's getting closer to completion. I think it could be fun to play. I imagine it ending up somewhat like Pierre Mortel's Neverchosen comic.

Finnegan suggested he end-game/final conflict of a Champions of Chaos campaign should be to end up fighting the characters from the current Champions of Death campaign! This made me laugh... A LOT!

Other Warhammer Games ?

Warhammer Underworlds - Honestly, I feel completely out of the loop with what's going on with Warhammer Underworlds these days... There have been a few new decks and warbands released and I have not picked up any of them... The new core box looks super fun with the Helsmith's of Hashut... but I don't know if I can even be bothered. I'll probably pick up the new Warbands of Spitewood card set - as I OWN every single one of the warbands in all four re-release boxes (though I think only half of them are painted...?), so it would be nice to at least have their current cards... just in case..

Warhammer 40,000 - At SOME point i'll probably flip back to this... work on the Aeldari and Guard and Emperor's Children. I really liked the look of the Armageddon Crusade Campaign and think that could be really fun to play through. Do I think I'm going to get to that THIS Quarter...? I doubt it... perhaps in 2026? (or maybe 2027 when the new edition comes out?

Other Miniature Wargames?

Bolt Action - Had a lot of plans and ideas earlier this year... Could it happen again? I don't know... Maybe if Orion suddenly finished painting all her Hungarians!

Other Games - I occasionally wonder about other games - any of the Ganesha Games, games by Den Mercy (new edition of Dragon Rampant this Quarter!), One Hour Wargames, etc... There are so many that I dream about and have ideas for constantly. At one point in the last few months I was costing out DBA armies in 6mm... I've kind of missed playing that... but like the idea of returning to it on a smaller scale, so it can be played on a kitchen table - or even a coffee table! But I think that's got to stay on the backburner for now. I just don't think I have the time or energy to play other things and keep multiple rule sets in my head at the same time.

Solo Miniature Games

It would be fun to continue any or all of the solo game campaigns I've started... (Paras in Normandy, Pulp Adventure. Five Parsecs from Home. Devilry Afoote Campaign). But that doesn't seem to be a thing I'm doing at the moment, so I'll just continue to keep those in my back pocket for now, in case any of the current active in-person campaigns Im actually playing with others fizzle...

Board Games

I mean... I like the idea of playing board games again (other than Warhammer Quest - or the other Warhammer board games). Given the last few quarters, though... I don't know...

MINIATURES

What will I get up to PAINTING the next few months...? Well if the plan for the past quarter is anything to go by, there is almost no point in even trying to guess!?

As always, it will be likely dictated by the games I end up playing. As outlined above

Age of Sigmar

(Including Warhammer Quest, Warhammer Underworlds, Soulbound, etc)

I think Age of Sigmar will likely be the primary focus of this quarter. The priority will probably be the Spearhead Armies - finishing up the ones that I already have...

I don't think there's a lot I plan to buy. Possibly, once I'd done the Helsmith's of Hashut Helforge Host (Spearhead army) I might treat myself to a few new units for that faction - one unit at a time, as I finish the ones I have - a Daemonsmith, an Ashen Elder, some Bull Centaurs... maybe even a Deathshrieker Rocket Battery (to fill out one of the Regiments of Renown that could be fielded with any of my other Chaos armies!)

Spearhead Armies Still to Do:

(I have a separate page where I have up-to-date information on the progress of these forces, along with links to all the battle reports I've used them in. You can find that here: Age of Sigmar - Spearhead Armies)

Soulblight Gravelords - Bloodcrave Hunt

If I could get FOUR (or maybe FIVE!?) of these finished up by the end of the year, I'd be pretty happy. The Nighthaunt one shouldn't be too hard to finish up (once I get my hands on some Dreadscythe Harridans!) and I'm halfway done the Soulblight Gravelords... The Helsmiths of Hashut and Maggotkin of Nurgle are likely ones I'll finish up... and then...? Maybe Daughters of Khaine (as those are ones Amanda has indicated that she would probably like to play!)

Other Miniatures

There could be a few things I paint that are NOT for Age of Sigmar... just for fun... but I don't really have a PLAN to do any such things.

I have a lot of WW2 stuff for Bolt Action forces still in little boxes scattered around the workbench... lots of other little fun bits and characters for a wild variety of skirmish games.

I COULD get COMPLETELY distracted and go off on some entirely different tangent for the rest of the year...!? Bolt Action? 40K? Great War? Other fantasy Skirmish

What do YOU have planned, hobby-wise (or... otherwise?) for the rest of the year!?

OR what do you think would be the most bonkers thing for me to get distracted by in the next three months!?

Let me know in the comments!?
