Warhammer Underworlds - Sunday Funday!

So who had EIGHT DAYS in the pool for How Long Will it Take for Amanda to Steal Tim's SQUIG MEGA HOODIE?

Sunday evening we played another round of Warhammer Underworlds...

We played the same warbands as the evening before (could look at it as the continuation of a best two out of three?)

Cyreni's Razors went first and Alathyrr jumped on a Treasure Token and Delved!

Ghuloch charged Alathyrr, the roll was tied, but I rolled a crit for Ghuloch, so he pushed Alathyrr off the token, into a stagger hex (not a biggie, she was already staggered from the Delve). More importantly Ghuloch was ON it and would have to be pushed off if they wanted to do more delving there!

Alathyrr ran away to another Treasure Token and Delved that. Fecula and Sepsimus both charged and finished off Alathyrr, who is the only fighter worth ONE bounty in the warband... so I gained one point and inspired Sepsimus...

Starting off Round Two Sepsimus charged Cyreni and dealt THREE Damage!!

Fecula followed up with a blast of "magic" (She held a candle up and belched in Cyreni's direction and that finished her off...

Guloch attacked Renglaith and dealt two damage.

Fecula threw some more magic about and deal one Damage to Renglaith. I could have done something different to just take Renglaith out... but I had a card that scored a Glory point if there were any vulnerable enemy fighters in the end phase... so...

Starting off Round Three, Ghuloch finished off Reglaith...

Fecula charged and damaged Cephanyr...

and then Sepsimus charged in to finish off the Squid!

BOOM!

Seeing how tough Wurmspat was in the last game, I did not hold back at all and played an excessively aggressive game... (although I used neither the card, nor the warscroll ability to take damage to do an extra charge this game! Moslty because it just worked out that fighters were still adjacent when the rest charged out, or Fecula was in a good position to shoot "Magic")

I won this second game, 18-9!

Amanda decided she'd played Cyreni's enough and wants to try out Morgwaeth's Blade Coven next. I guess I should try something different at well....

Do I play another old favourite to see how they work in the new edition? Skabbik's Plague Pack? Some other Chaos warband?

Or do I try playing something I have not played at all this year?! I have 34 different warbands. at one point I suggested I should try and play them all at least once this year... that's not likely to happen. AT this point, I think I've only played 17 of them - half! Of the other half, at least a dozen of them have been played by other people - mostly Amanda, so it's not like half my warbands are not being used ever!?

This is how big the SQUIG MEGA HOODIE is on Amanda!

Warhammer Underworlds - Amanda Tries Embergard

On Saturday Amanda and I had planned to have a game afternoon... but that kind of just ended up being one game of Embergard...

Amanda tried out Cyreni's Razors with the Pillage and Plunder deck. I had another stab at playing Wurmspat with Blazing Assault.

All set up and ready to go!

So much charging about in the first round! (I gained points for 4+ things being injured or dead, and 5+ with charge and/or move tokens, so it all worked out)

In Round Two, Wurmspat started ganging up one stuff and finishing it off... starting with Cepahnyr.

Now for the slippery undersea aelves.

they were NOT EASY to chase down - give they had an inspired move of 5 and all of Wurmspat moves 3!

But we got to then... took them out one by one...

They did take out Fecula...

Ghuloch taking out Alathyrr

Just Cyreni left...

Sepsimus exchanged a few blows with Cyreni... both were one successful hit away from death...

But Cyreni moved to score points from cards by getting to a treasure token to flip.

Which brought her within range of Sepsimus charging (with a power card that gave him +2 move that I'd been holding since the first round - knowing I'd need it at SOME point...!)

Sepsimus finished off Cyreni and the left only Ghuloch and Sepsimus on the table...

by taking out Cyreni on my very last activation, I was able to score ANNIHILATION (a card I'd never think of adding to a built deck, because, how often does THAT actually happen!?). Along with Keep Choppin' I had a SIX Glory Point Final End Phase!

Amanda ALSO had a SIX Glory Point Final End Phase!!! (but it wasn't quite enough to catch up to me!)

The game ended with me having 20 glory points and Amanda with 18 - again, SO CLOSE!!

(And Wurmspat WINNING!?)

I need to build them a Nemesis deck... but with something that helps them MOVE AROUND!

Warhammer Underworlds - Friday the 13th Edition

Friday the 13th turned out to be kind of lucky this year. I FINALLY got a confirmation email that my cards had been printed THREE AND A HALF WEEKS after I'd place the order (that indicated it should take 1-3 DAYS?!)

So I spent the afternoon doing a bit of crafting - cutting out cards and gluing the fronts to the backs (while watching Dimension 20 with Finnegan - we're on the second season of Unsleeping City)

In the evening, Orion stopped by to play a few games!

GAME ONE

I played Wurmspat with the Blazing Assault rivals deck, Orion played Hexbane's Hunters with Emberstone Sentinels.

I like the new Wurmspat cards. They feel... sufficiently TOUGH and can rock around the board dealing some PAIN!

End of the first round... one dog and one Hunter down...

Round two Wurmspat finished off another Hunter and focused their sights on Hexbane, himself.

Kind of took all three of them to take him down...

Then they set their sites on Amos and the remaining dog... who were unfortunately on the other side of the board!

Guloch walk halfway as bait and Amos took it!

Finished off the dog, lost Sepsimus... ended the game 12 Glory Points to Orions 14...

It was nice to play Wurmspat and not feel like they totally SUCKED!

GAME TWO

In round two we switched things up and I tried out Zondara's Gravebreakers with the Pillage and Plunder Deck. Orion took the Skinnerkin and Reckless Fury.

It was a tough game with a lot of back and forth... At the end I thought I was going to be able to score all three cards in my hands for 5 more points... but then ended up scoring only one... but I'm not sure... I think I might have been able to score the other two...?

Mind you, I'd been kind of cheating earlier in the game, drawing a few extra power cards than I should (thinking when the zombies delved they could just draw power cards, instead of draw power cards equal to the number of zombies out of action!? Whoopsie)

So it probably all worked out in the end. Orion scored 12, I scored 10. Still, a fairly close game!

Afterwards I watched some TV with Amanda and tried to get a few more warbands cards sorted out...

Warhammer Quest: Shadows Over Hammerhal - Session Five - The Vile Dungeon

It has been just over two and a half months since we last played Warhammer Quest...

Wednesday evening Amanda, Finnegan and I sat down to finish working our way through the last few dungeons of Shadows Over Hammerhal.

Finnegan played the Cogsmith, Golnir Coalbeard, which he'd originally been playing, and took over Arvios Sunhelm - Lord-Castellant of the Hammers of Sigmar. Amanda played Vizrin Kyre - Black Ark Fleetmaster -as she has throughout the campaign, and also took on Alnaryn, the Aelven Loremaster.

Because it's been so long I kind of forgot.. a LOT of things... a lot of rules... and even what had been happening in the previous session!? I did have notes... but I missed things (and didn't THINK to read the previous session's battle report!) I assumed they had FINISHED the Halls of Blood, which Amanda, John and Maygan had been playing through... but looking back now, I've realized they'd had to stop part way through the last battle and had NOT finished fighting the Flesh-Hounds in the last room... They hadn't really NEEDED to go back to that last room, they'd found another way down... also, I'd put four or five Flesh-Hounds in there instead of the silly trap that was supposed to be in there... and... the Flesh-Hounds were a bit much...

So this session we just started back in Cinderfall. Vizrin Kyre visited the Rift Market, along with Alnaryn. Kyre acquired a Twisted Charm, but Alnaryn did not find anything. Golnir Coalbeard had little money to spend, so he went gambling, hoping to make that money into MORE money... instead he walked away with a magical Heartseeker Ring! Lord-Castellant Arvios Sunhelm went to the Guild of Certified Thaumaturgists and bought himself a Seer's Philtre.

Having stocked up and rested, the four returned to the dark dungeons below Hammerhal - only to find their way blocked by a house collapsing on the entry way they'd intended to use! The Lord Castellant quickly conamdeered some workers to clear the rubble away! This would take some time, so the bunch of them had some more time to look for supplies that might aid in their exploration.

This time Vizrin Kyre and the Loremaster visited Bougren's Bountiful Bazaar. This time it was Alnaryn that walked away with an Excavation Charge and Kyre walked away empty-handed. Golnir Coalbeard found himself engaged in a drinking contest... and passed out drunk after the first pint!?

Eventually enough rubble was cleared away, they were able to return to the tunnels and chambers beneath Hammerhal...

Returning to a section they'd noted two expeditions ago, the area smelled of rot and putrefication. the wall were covered with a thick layer of pustulent ooze and the floor writhed with giant, bloated maggots. The air was filled with fat buzzing brownish-yellow flies...

The first two rooms they entered were empty, but in the second the discovered a secret passage that led to the lair of a Rotbringer Sorceress!

The two aelves took down the Sorceress' Blightking bodyguard!

The Rotbringer Sorceress herself was a deadly foe, though... the Fleetmaster was overpowered by her noxious emissions!

the Lord-Castellant joined the Loremaster in the Rotbringers sanctum and purged the putrid servand of Nurgle... but before she could be struck down, she called out for aid!

Three MORE Putrid Blightkings rushed out of the next room. They were too late to aid the Sorceress, so they were determined to avenger her!

They were as vicious as they were vile and har to take down.

It took all the group to take them down!

After finishing them off, the four investigated the two rooms; the Rotbringers workshop and the room the other Blightkings had come from. In the latter they discovered a hideous, rotting alter to Nurgle. The Lord-Castellant decided it needed to be destroyed! In the process they all contracted the Rawblight (counting as a Grievous wound, blocking one of their action slots!), but also in doing so, discovered and aritifact of Ghyran - the Seeds of the Everroot - which had magical restoritive powers!

Down at the other end of the dungeon they discovered more Blightkings in a room with fleshy walls!

The three charged Alnaryn, nearly overpowering her!

She held them briefly at the doorway while the Lord CAstellant shouted orders for all to fall back around him.

They drew the Blightkings out into the hall where the Fleetmaster and the Lord-Castellant could engage them in melee, while the Loremaster and Coalbeard could stand behind blasting them with firearms and arcane bolts!

Eventually they took them down, one-by-one!

The final room on this level was the worst yet! They found two more Blightkings sloshing around in a room absoloutely FULL of bodies and part of bodies or both man and beast in varrying degress of rot and putrefaction!

The Lord Castellant initially held them at the door

Until Kyre was able to slip in and finish off the last of them.

At that point the four heroes, once again, retired to the surface streets of Cinderfal. They visited their good friend Brother Bargo of the Chapel of the Shattered Blade and he was able to cure them of the Rawblight.

Afterwards Golnir returned to the gambling dens, only to lose his money. Alnaryn returned to Baugren's and acquired an Amulet of Mist. Vizrin Kyre visited REd Yugol's Reverie, but was unable to learn anything of their future from the enigmatic soothsayer. Sunhelm visited the House of Venargo and found an interesting item - the Spectral Eye!

At this point we called it a night, but are determined to forge ahead next week on Tuesday or Wednesday - on of those evenings we will play, the other we will watch some more of the new season of the Legend of Vox Machina!

There are really only two (maybe two and a half?) sections to explore.

Oooh! I should try and finish Tzarketh, Bane of Law, to use as the Chaos Sorcerer behind all this corruption and chaos beneath Hammerhal!
